Dez Bryant - Dallas should attempt to slow down Cincy's pass rush by running the ball a ton this week.

I heard Stokely is unlikely to play which helps Decker and TammeTamme is playing the Slot again and facing as bad or worse pass def this week

Super desperate spot but could see a TD from Criner in this one. Taller WRs have score the last few weeks against Denver: D Alexander and M Williams

Stokely IS active tonight per NFL.com.

Decker will have a good game because I'm sitting him this week and going with Calvin, T.Y. Hilton and Chris Givens.

So... start Jake Locker because he is going to throw for 300+ yards but bench all of his pass-catchers but one? Britt's 5.5 receptions for week (the reason he is recommended as a start) is not likely to account for Locker's yardage. Someone has to catch the ball. And on Cook, "third fewest fantasy points to TEs at home", really? They have played Vikings, Jags, Packers, Browns, Dolphins, Bills at home. Kyle Rudolph is the best scoring TE they have faced at home and he's barely relevant.

Make your own decisions guys. This is just another tool.

Remember, these are show notes. More explanation and analysis is given in the podcast.

how about thisSITJake Locker - because in three of their last four games, the Colts have allowed at least 300 yards passingthat's makes more sense. :)

I agree! Every week the studs score multiple TDs and put up monster numbers while the second tier players all stink it up. It's super easy to pick the weekly starters. That's why we all play the game and never adjust our starting lineup ... because of its predicability. In fact, we're all super rich cus we pick ALL of the NFL winners each week in Vegas.

You lost me at sitting Ray Rice. He is going to be force fed the ball this week, just wait.
Rice has only had two 100 yard rushing games and only five 100 plus combined rushing receiving games all year. Those games were against NE, KC, Cleveland, Philly. and San Diego. Some of the worst run Ds in the league. he's also had 6 games of 16 or less carries. Zero receiving TDs this year, and he only scored a TD in 2 of the games where he actually had over 100 combined yards, I realize a lot of you guys love Rice and you burned a very high pick on him, but he just hasn't put up the numbers you expected him to produce this year. If you're a Rice owner in 2012 you can't be happy with his season

Not surprisingly you are missing the point. I don't think anyone faults the effort of trying to identify second tier players that could have big games - or even call out some top tier guys that may struggle for whatever reason. But this just comes off as guesswork. Start Matt Ryan, Tom Brady, Calvin Johnson? Thanks for those tidbits. And the thought of sitting guys like Ray Rice, Arian Foster, Dez Bryant, Tony Romo, is laughable at this point in the season. Try eliminating all of the obvious starts, focus on one or two starts and sits of those second tier guys and why, or even a top tier guy that YOU WOULD CONSIDER SITTING if he was on your team - and you may have something. But as it reads right now, it looks amatuerish and there is no way I'd be even tempted to listen to your podcast.

we get killed no matter what advice we give. If we don't include the obvious we're railed. When we do.... we're railed. Feel free to go back and look at posts where we simply did what you suggest and were blasted for cherry picking a few players. we can't win. read, don't read. listen, don't listen, do what you want. We're providing content

I have read a few of these posts now and while the effort is appreciated, the commentary is terrible.

A large number of them are completely false, calling out data that isn't accurate.

Yet, he's the 4th highest scoring RB in fantasy football. Imagine that. :o

I should probably rephrase what I said. The data itself is fine, it's the comments that are off. Here's one off the top of my head...Things like...

Cam Newton - NFL teams have figured him out. Carolina will need to throw to keep up. Unfortunately that means Cam will be limited on his runs.

If anything, Newton is figuring out the other NFL teams. He's had arguably two of the better games of his career over the past two weeks. On top of that, the last time he played the Falcons he went 15/24 for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns, along with 9 rushes for 86 yards and another touchdown. If that is a sign of the Falcons figuring him out, I wish more teams would "figure him out".

Here's another one...

TY Hilton - Avery plays, TY gets nothing. Unless Luck throws for 400 yards again

Avery has played the last three games. TY has had the following...

6/100/2

3/33/1

6/100/0

All three games are much better than "nothing"

So why exactly is Lance Moore a "sit"?

And based on that, would you suggest Givens over him as the former is listed as a "start"?

Sarcasm aside I like having extra tools but if you are going to do the work then do the work. Your posts are filled with inaccurate information and misleading information. If you want to go against the grain that is fine but show us why and some real information.

Agreed, this doesn't make any sense. Sit Rice because he is facing the #4 rush defense and start Bryce Brown because he is facing the #1 rush defense.
Top scoring RB two weeks in a row. Until he stinks it up he's a start
This is what I mean top scoring running back for 2 weeks, compared to a top 5 running back every year since he became the guy 3 or 4 years ago. Which means you never bench him unless you have 2 or 3 of the other top 5 running backs. Not to mention that Bradshaw got 100 yards against the same defense last week

Thanks, but I stopped reading after you told us to sit Roddy because Julio "dominates away game"

The problem with this kinda analysis is the inconsistency, an example:

Bryce Brown is playing a top rated rush defense but hes been hot so he's a start.

Romo/Dez have also been on fire, against a Bengals defense that is good, but hardly amazing, but warrant a sit based on this bad matchup.

Then theres times where there is no analysis: Start Graham/Brees/Colston and sit Moore? Based on what, certainly not their performances the past few weeks.

Yes I know but sometimes you just have to go with your gut. This is far from an exact science. Again, if we could just look at past performances and stats we could all pick the winners.

Seriously? Saying stuff like this makes it look like you don't even follow FF. I drafted Rice with the 3rd pick. He is 4th in my league in scoring and has been one of the most consistent RBs in the league. Could you explain why he has been such a big disappointment or is this just another one of your "gut feelings".

Like others here, I do appreciate the effort, but its hard to buy into your analysis when you advocating starting Mario Manningham when he is highly unlikely to play.

Sit Cam?? Yeah sure thing considering he is the top fantasy QB over the last five weeks.

I agree here, Hilton has 41.3 FP to Waynes 22.5 FP and Avery's 27.6FP the last 3 weeks. Avery did have 14 targets but Hilton had 12 and Wayne 9 last week. Also his PR/KR duties have been productive, he broke a punt return TD against the Bills at home a few weeks ago.

Man you are getting absolutely railed here and I feel bad for you, but I can't disagree with a lot of the responses unfortunately.

Let me give you a piece of advice that might help you when you present your sit/start calls:

It doesn't help anyone for you to say "sit cam" or "sit rice". These are very bold calls. We need to know where your head is at. For instance, you wrote "start locker". Should we be starting locker over cam since he is a start and cam is a sit? Who would you advocate sitting cam for? Why?

Most people that have cam or ray rice on their teams don't have a team that is stacked to the point where they could even imagine sitting either of these 2 studs in their wildest dreams unless they also have rgIII and for some reason Arian foster or ap on their bench to replace rice with.

I would not sit rice for bryce brown. If I owned rice he is a permanent fixture in my lineup. Same with cam (the way he is playing lately) unless I have another top qb like Rodgers, Brady, Brees, griffin or stafford or Payton and maybe luck. But very likely if you have cam you don't also have those guys.

These are crucial weeks for fantasy football. There is no room for error. So tell me. Start jake locker over cam BC it's a better matchup.

And as a previous poster said cam had one of his better games this season against Atlanta and so did Olsen who you also have as a sit with no explanation. No Brandon Lafell in this game means lots of Steve smith, Olsen, and cam running.

New England vs Houston

SIT

Arian Foster - leads the league in fantasy points, but NE will focus on shutting him down. They have a top 10 run defense

Redskins vs Baltimore

SIT

Ray Rice - Washington has the #4 ranked rush defense. Only 12 carries last week
So, let me see if I got this correct: If you drafted Foster or Rice (and if you did, you probably took them first or second overall), you are recommending sitting them for the first week of the fantasy football playoffs...

Rice is the #4 RB in both of the leagues I'm in, under two radically different scoring systems. While three of his last four games have scored 2.3 ppg less than his average in the league I randomly checked, that still places him top 6. That's pretty matchup proof, and there will not be many teams that even look at sitting him from week to week. Likewise Arian Foster. Kudos for sticking to the format but of course you understand that in a competitive league Rice and Foster are headliners in their teams and will likely never be sits. Not the same for well struck late round draft or waiver wire pickups who might cause some interesting matchup questions. Matchups do make a difference for me with QB plays, given that I've got Ryan/RG3 in one league and Luck/RG3 in another. Somehow it's really hard hitting the correct one when both might be considered every week plays.

Yes and also in the Arian foster bit he said that ne has a top 10 run defense as then he later said they suck (later in the thread). Lol
