Week 14 Sleepers (1 Viewer)

I'm calling Buffalo's DST against Miami in Buffalo. Forecast calls for rain and snow all week. I'd be much happier if Lynch were back though.

I am pretty sure that I am going to start Kellen Clemens over Jason Campbell this week.

For the Bryant Johnson question, I don't think that it hurts his stats anymore than Holmes being out hurt Ward's stats. Johnson is a big target and if neither Fitz or Boldin can go, BJ is the only decent WR that Az has. Moreover, I can't imagine a team scheming to stop Bryant Johnson the way teams scheme for TO or Moss.

I picked up the BUF Defense for this MIA match-up. I have DEN in my back pocket (v KC), but Miami has just been terrible.

I also picked up Bryant Johnson. I am a Boldin owner and I don't think he's going to be playing the next couple of weeks.

Not sure yet, but perhaps Bryant Johnson may be starting for me this week
Does anybody think that with Boldin and Fitz being out this could potentially HURT Johnson's chances to put up stats? They may key in on him.
I would agree with this. I have Seattle's D but was leery about this matchup with Zona but with Boldin & Fitz out I may reconsider. Warner should definitely be looking in Bryant's direction often but you have to figure the secondary locking in on him. Seattle should also get a ton of opportunities to sack/knock Warner out of the game as well.

May go with Kolby Smith (if LJ is still out obviously) over SA, FWP & Maroney
I wasn't really considering Kolby much of a sleeper at this point, I've watched these past two games closely and he looks like a very good back. 21-83 against the bolts wasn't great but if KC had given Kolby the ball 30 times instead of letting the QBs throw INTs left and right then they may have even won the game. I've got Portis, R. Bush, K. Jones & Kolby and I'm thinking Kolby's matchup with Denver looks pretty inviting! Denver has the 4th worst rush D in the league.

This is the very question I've been asking myself during waiver wire pickups since I need a wr this weekend in the playoffs. I've looked gage, furrey, and macdonald and am rolling the dice on B Johnson. Warner is a good QB and you'd have to think they will be throwing in this game to get back into it.. I'd like to see fitz play just to keep the focus on B Johnson but also believe he will get his regardless.. Good luck if you roll the dice, I am.

I'm thinking of going with Adrian Peterson (CHI) over Kolby Smith.

I just dont see how Washington can gameplan for this game on two days practice.

Don't know if it's "rolling the dice", but I'm considering starting Calvin Johnson and Steve Smith, over Welker and Driver

Furrey could be a reasonable start this week with Roy Williams now gone. I noticed that he put up a nice 11-102-1 line last year vs. DAL, albeit in wk 17.

In Arizona with Fitz and Boldin likely out, and Johnson WR1, does Breaston become WR2? In leagues like ours that give KR yards he could be as valuable as Nate Burleson. Good WR2.

Debating Calvin over Welker as well...

THats a good question. I am in a league that has KR/PR points as well. I'll look into this.

I'm thinking about going Garrard over Big Ben. He has scored more points in my league the last three weeks and he is playing at home against Carolina. It feels like a Jags blowout and they could put up 30+ points on the Panthers with 2-3 TDs coming from the passing game. I see 2-3 TDs possibly coming from Ben as well, but the inevitable picks going against the Pats in Foxboro could make Garrard the better play. I will likely switch this until I get carpal tunnel syndrome this week...

Leon Washington. The Jets are going nowhere and they will give Leon more chances as the season winds down.

Do that at your own risk. I'm a Panther homer and the defense is totally unpredictable. They could play like a top 5 defense or they could play like a bottom 5 defense. Seen them play both ways this year and there is no way to predict how they will play.I think you gotta ask yourself who has a better chance of throwing 2-3 TDs. Don't worry about the picks cuz those are hard to predict as well.

Has this been reported or an informed opinion? I am not thrilled with Fargas,s match up and would consider Leon instead if he is in fact going to get carries.

I hear you, but the Jags at home are a VERY tough team. With a very good o-line, two very good backs and a QB who doesn't key in on any reciever, I think the Panthers will be overwhelmed. I do switch them back every couple hours though, so maybe Ben will still make it in. I am also nervous that the Pats will flex their muscles at home after two near disasters for them.

I have the sleeper WR core for my first playoff week.....

I need to start (2) 0f the followng and i rank them as follows:

1.) B. Johnson ....if Fitz sits, if not he drops below both. (9 looks week #13)

2.) M. Furrey taking the #1 for Roy. Detroit doesnt run the ball. (9 looks week #13)

3.) J. Gage, the kid is hot and I will find it hard to sit em or Bryant Johnson (8 looks week #13)

Same here. I have a tough opponent this week (who doesn't?) and have Buf starting now, but am not sure about it. My Broncos (homer) could blow up OR could lay down like a dog like last week. I will most likely stick w/ Buf.

Furrey was nuts down the stretch last season. Was just reading his stats (can't find them now) and they were very good. I am blowing most of the rest of my WW budget on him.

That's a really tough call. IMO they will both do well.In my league I'm starting Rice AND Gage, along with Owens...

 Very quietly putting up good numbers!!!
Only thing that is scaring me about Gage this week is that he's going up against SD's DEF.Last three games:

Rice:

Date Opp. Rec Yds Lg TD

11/18 OAK 2 18 10 0

11/25 NYG 3 82 60 1

12/02 DET 5 53 22 1

Gage:

Date Opp. Rec Yds Lg TD

11/19 DEN 6 66 18 0

11/25 CIN 4 98 73 0

12/02 HOU 5 64 20 1

Both becoming more and more consistent.

Now lets look at the QBs:

Vince Young:

Date Opp. Comp-Att Yds TD Int

11/19 DEN 26-41 305 1 2

11/25 CIN 19-31 246 0 1

12/02 HOU 21-31 248 2 1

Tavaris Jackson:

Date Opp. Comp-Att Yds TD Int

11/18 OAK 17-22 171 0 1

11/25 NYG 10-12 129 1 0

12/02 DET 18-24 204 2 1

Jackson's TD's are on an up trend. Jackson plays a weak defense in SF. Young is playing a better SD DEF.

I go with Sidney Rice.

I wouldn't do Calvin. Just a gut feeling. Steve Smith I don't know about but Calvin has not shown that he can even be a 2 or 3 yet. With that offense imploding by the week, I just don't think he's a smart play. Just my .02

Reggie Williams is cracking my starting lineup this week. Picked him up off the WW since I'm a Boldin and Holmes owner. My other choice for WR2 was Ronald Curry and I have zero faith in him.

I did some number crunching and Reggie Williams is #7 over the past 5 weeks in points per game (distance league). I was quite surprised.

Assuming they put Boldin on the IR I'll drop him for Sidney Rice and I'll play matchups between Rice/Williams until Holmes comes back.
