Week 15 2024 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY [s]UN[/s]OFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

QB - HELP!

-Been riding Tua for a couple weeks after finally realizing that CJ Stroud was just never going to hit 30+ all year
Waiver wire options at the moment

-Geno Smith vs GB at home on Sunday Night
-Kirk Cousins at Las Vegas...have you seen his stats the last 4 weeks? How could you trust him? ZERO TDs and 8 INT last 4 games and HALF of his season TD total vs BUCS in 2 games
-Russ Wilson at Philly...he's been 20+ minimum, 31-18-26-dud-18-37-21...he's been pretty good since he took over but I know Pitt has starters out this week

Why not Tua Tags? Texans are top 3-5 vs opposing QBs in FF and also they don't allow a lot of passing yds in general. I already need to start Tyreek Hill, want to spread the risk here
I'm looking at Geno and Russ, I need some reliable points this weekend to have a chance, it's possible Seattle and Green Bay get into a shootout
Kirk Cousins has a pretty easy match up

Curious what you all think is the right move here
In that case I go with Russ. Geno has two games with multiple TD passes (and two with zero) in 13 starts. It's tough to rely on him for a big output, or even an above average output.

Russ has four multi TD games in seven starts. And he has a similar floor to Geno.

Russ, IMO.
We went with Tua after going back and forth, didn't see until after kick off, I might have been inclined to agree but still start Tua, I just he manages to scrape 20 points but my guess is he ends up being a turkey after being Top 6-8 on most sites I saw this week, they had him ranked very high

But you're right, Russ probably will end up better stats. Geno has been fools gold all season

I have no problem with starting Tua over Russ. 300 yards and two TDs are a very reasonable projection for him. He's been very good since coming back.

Russ also has a very tough matchup and is missing his #1 WR, something I didn't consider previously.

Bottom line is, IMO TIA was a fine choice.

Pick 2 for flex spots in PPR:
  • Bucky Irving
  • Amari Cooper
  • Jaylen Warren
  • Javonte Williams
Conveniently, all 4:25 EST kickoffs, so I have a chance to see where I stand after the early games. FBG League Dominator has all 4 recommended by at least one person.

Currently leaning Bucky/Cooper (assuming Bucky is active)
Turns out the correct answer was Tyjae Spears.

Was it? How did Amari and Bucky do today? I want to use that info for some afternoon prop bets.

Ok, Spears would have been a GOOD answer. Not necessarily the ideal one.

Apologies, but this is a combo "Who do I start/drop?" question.

14-team non-PPR, start 2 RB/3 WR/no flex. With Njoku's injury I have to pick up a TE. Here are the options:

Schultz vs Mia
JJohnson vs Was
JSanders vs Dal
Calcaterra vs Pit
Smartt vs TB

The correct answer is "Who the hell knows?" since I'm basically just hoping for a TD. But I'm leaning Smartt based on the matchup, LA's use of the TE this year, and the fact that he showed something last week after Dissly went down.

The bigger question is who I drop. There are no obvious candidates, and whoever I drop will very likely get picked up. But it has to be someone.

Starters
QB: Nix
RB: Bijan, BRob
WR: Nico, Evans, Jennings
TE: Njoku
K: Bates
DST: Denver

Bench
QB: Jameis
RB: Kamara, Guerendo
WR: Higgins, Adams

First step is probably to see what happens tonight with Guerendo. Maybe his injury is worse than we've heard, or he reinjures it. Or maybe he stinks and they decide Taylor is the new starter. Point is, I have very little to lose by waiting. Stone Smartt ain't going anywhere, and even if he does, I'll take a flier on someone else.

But let's assume the takeaway coming out of the game is that Guerendo is still the guy to own in SF's backfield. What do I do then? I could still end up dropping him, since it's unlikely he'll end up starting for me in the next two weeks. I could drop Kamara, who I'm benching this week over concerns with NO's offense. But that seems crazy.

I could drop Jameis and just roll with Nix the rest of the way. But he has a dream matchup with Cinci next week (and Nix has the same matchup in Week 17), so I was kind of depending on that platoon.

Even though I have five WRs for three slots, I can't imagine dropping any of them. They're all too good.

I could drop Njoku. I already know he's missing one of the three playoff games, and the nature of hamstring injuries means he could miss more. But I'll be really bummed if he's back next week, on someone else's roster, and I'm stuck with a replacement-level TE
Dang, I had hopes when I heard Njoku was a GTD, but now he’s officially been ruled out. I’m picking up Smartt. As for who to drop, if he had been ruled out a couple days ago, I might have been more inclined to drop Njoku. But the fact that he was close suggests he had a better shot for next week. So between him and Jameis, I asked myself who I would be more screwed with if I didn’t have them next week.

Without Jameis, I’d be missing out on his sweet matchup vs Cinci, but I’d still have Nix (in a less appealing matchup vs LAC). But without Njoku, I’d be missing out on that same great matchup and be starting Smartt vs Denver (or some other replacement-level streamer). I think dropping Winston is safer.

Of course, it could totally blow up in my face. I lose out on Winston, Njoku sits another week and I don’t get any pieces of the Cinci matchup. But I still think this is the percentage play
Dropping Jameis turned out to be the right call!

Starting Jennings over Higgins and Adams, not so much.

(Fortunately, I won anyway)
