Week #15 Den-Hou game (1 Viewer)

Good stuff .... unwelcomed Guest. I second the WSIS crap-o-la. It's like who cares.....in this forum anyway. One point of contention with your analysis. Uh....they lost to Oakland 2 weeks ago and got toasted on defense. Last week, they shut down the Croyle led Chiefs with a banged up line. So.....I think Denver's D still is succeptable(sp?) to a decent offense. and who do you think I should start? .......
Denver really took advantage of KC's banged up Oline. The Houston Oline is hurting, although not as bad as KC's. Denver still has a really fast, although small, defense. I play in a team D league where D returns for tds are huge and yardage allowed-scoring doesn't play that much of a role. I like the Denver O all the way around in this game, they're hitting on all cylinders. I think the Denver D plays well when the other team is forced to pass. Houston's running game does nothing to make me think that they will dominate like Oakland did in that game. I've been wrong before and I'm sure I'll be wrong again, just wanted to add something to the thread.Nevah bench SDavis!!!! :( :excited: :excited:

I'm "gulp" starting Selvin Young over Edgerrin this weekend. Not sure if the Saints have good run D, but I'm gonna take the risk. Anyone see how Selvin doesn't put up some good numbers against Houston tonight?

i can see him going for 100 yards and 2 rec for 20 more but will henry vulture?

My #1 is Wayne, and that's a given. I also have Evans against CLE, but too much inconsistency there. If I lose cause I didn't start Evans, I won't feel bad about that decision. But Jennings, this one is killing me. He has started over Marshall for me all season when healthy and has consistently outscored him (7 times out of the 10 weeks they've both played). He's scored at least 1 TD in each of the last 4 games, 2 in one of them. But his number of targets worry the hell out of me.Not to mention, the Pack could be up by 20 at halftime and run the ball a lot. Which is why I think I'll stick with Marshall. My working theory is that both should have good days with Marshall having more opportunities to have a stellar day.
Yea I'm in the same situation where I have to decide between Marshall and Jennings. I'm thinking the same as you in that Jennings targets scare me, but he always seems to put up the points through TDs. For me Marshall seems like the safer play and as other people have said, its not like there is much drop off between the two. But I also play in a PPR league so that is also factoring into my decision.

What about the Houston RB situation? Denvers Run D is horrible ...whoever start for Houston should be decent but who will it be?

Doesn't look like Dayne will play much if at all. And all of a sudden there Darius Walker is involved which screws up everything.

Anybody have any insight?
As bad as Denver's Run D is statistically, I was surprised to see they've only allowed 2 100yd rushers in the last 8 games. I haven't been able to watch any of their games lately - is this a product of circumstance or has their run defense been steadily improving?
I just went back and looked at like their last 7 games and aside from 2 games against KC they have been really awful against RBs both Rushing and receiving. They are not getting better at all ... and after seeing this if Walker is starting for sure than I am starting him over SteckerOAK Fargas 33 for 146 1 td

CHI Benson 8 for 47, Peterson 17 for 45 1 td and 5 for 41 receiving

Ten Young 11 for 74 1 TD , White 13 for 42 and 2 for 22 receiving , Brown 3 for 14 and 4 for 61 receiving

DET K.Jones 17 for 71 , Ducket 5 for 48 1 TD

GB Grant 22 for 104

Look, the total on this game is 47. That is A LOT for an NFL game. They are playing in Houston and on National TV -- much more than can be said for some of the cold weather, non-televised games coming up. I expect a good effort from both teams, who want to win, much less the former Broncos coaches goin at it.

Just because it's Thursday, people seem to be waffling. Paralysis through analysis?

If in doubt, play 'em!

Was he named the starter?

Ugh...don't like Dayne being active.

I was going to go with the upside of Walker over Stecker...but not so sure I should risk it tonight.

I have to choose between Walker, Dayne, or Gado. :goodposting: Not a good situation to be in, but I loved Walker's upside until the news that Dayne is active. Now I'm considering Gado, although I still think Walker has more upside. Tough spot. My RB2 spot is a mess.

Interesting note for Cutler...his stats and FF scoring is much better when the Broncos play at home. On the road...he's (they) are not as good. Just something to think about as some of you are possibly over thinking yourself out of your championship run.

He put up 22 at CHI 2 weeks ago?

I didn't say HE NEVER, but that is the only score worth mentioning on the road. Did you happen to notice the others ones (note the plural, not singular use)???Also, not to pour salt in the Bear fans wounds...Chicago is pretty bad, expecially considering their secondary has been missing a starting CB for major part of the season.

Ok if you take out his 0 vs DET where he was hurt he averages 13.8 on the road and 16.3 at home. I don't know if I would consider that "much better?" You do obviously and thats fine. Houston is a good matchup and I like Cutler over Big Ben this week, as do most of the experts. Pretty simple.

Matter of fact, The Broncos have performed better as a whole at home than the road. Of course, Cutler's main problem is consistancy in his second year. He has shown the ability to have BIGGER games...yes there are some that pull it down the average, but most of his better/bigger scoring game have happened at home. That was the only point I was making...

I have Marshall in as of now. Two reasons why there's still a chance this could change:1) Jennings vs Rams. Rams are 26th worst in WR points allowed since wk 102) Hou is 8th best in WR pts allowed since wk 10. Reason why I'll probably let it ride:8. B. Marshall 115 targets 16 RZ targets..43. Greg Jennings 69 targets 21 RZ targets
I got the old start 2 out of Fitz/Holt/Marshall dilemma.
Started Marsh, so far so good. Will keep you updated.

I think I am really screwed after this game. A. Johnson and Selvin Young are combined for 7 points and the Tom Brady team I am playing has Elam with 7 points. Ouch well at least I can do something else this weekend besides watch football right? :boxing: Shanahan strikes again
