Week 15 DST projections - TB near bottom? (1 Viewer)

Looking at Dodds and Norton projections I see Tampa Bay ranked 27 of 32 this week. I don't get it! With Stanton the lions can't move the ball and he throws picks?

What am I missing? Is the McCoy injury that detrimental to their scheme?

Tons of injuries on TB DEF.

A closer look shows the initial projections have TB as last in projected sacks this week and projected to give up 23 points against Detroit at home!

The line on this game seems to be somewhere around TB (-6) with an over/under of 43 - so the projected points given up would be closer to 18-19!

Not sure if the initial stats projections has an algorithim to consider Detroit's play on the road this year, or what it factors in with upheaval in Detroit offense or Tampa Bay defense?

I think if one were to reevaluate these projections; the Bucs would probably be around 12-18 in this week's rankings I would think?

Others have already mentioned the injuries, but I'll expand on it a little bit.

The Bucs have lost Gerald McCoy, Aqib Talib, Cody Grimm, and Quincy Black over the past 3 weeks. In my opinion, these are 4 of the Bucs 5 best defensive players (Ronde Barber being the other).

Replacing McCoy is Frank Okam (who was just activate from the practice sqaud - and was just signed to the practice sqaud a month ago). The Bucs starters on the d-line will be Tim Crowder, Roy Miller, Frank Okam and Stylez G. White. Michael Bennett will also rotate in on passing downs. I really don't expect much pass rush on Sunday. The Bucs have been blitzing more over the past few weeks, but Quincy Black was the best blitzing linebacker on the team.

The Bucs should get an INT or two on Sunday. If Drew Stanton is starting, there's probably worse options out there, but I would stay away from the Bucs D this week.
