Week 15 Suicide/Survivor Pick Strategy (1 Viewer)

For those that still have these teams available for week 15, I’m thinking the Colts at home over the Lions and the Eagles at home over the Browns are equally safe picks. I’m an Eagles homer so the Birds do scare me a bit as they are wildly inconsistent. However, the Browns appear to be that bad, especially with Dorsey. Anyone scared of picking against the Lions due to the law of averages, as they must be bound to win a game? I know, I know, they are a really bad team. Just wondering. They did almost beat the Vikings though, and have jumped out to early leads against decent opponents only to blow those games (the TB and Carolina games come to mind).

Gotta look ahead when you’re this close. Week 16 looks tough. Best home option appears to be Denver vs Bills. Ugh. Best road options would be Houston over Oakland, Colts over Jags (If Colts are not taken in week 15), or the incredibly ballsy Eagles over Skins (if Eagles are not taken week 15). Denver is so Jeckyl and Hyde that I’m thinking Houston is the play here, if of course you survive.

What’s everyone got?

I'm going with Indy over Detroit as Detroit is just that bad. The Eagles pick is intriguing, but I'm more confident with Indy and I want to just stay in my pool at this point and think about next week when the time comes.

Same here. I'll go ahead and use Indy now because I wouldn't play them next week at Jacksonville (rival) or vs. Tennessee week 17. So, I am already thinking about Week 16.Re: Week 16...What about New England? A team fighting for a playoff spot vs. an Arizona team already with a division title, nearly locked-in to their playoff spot, and travelling to the East coast?

This week for me I am leaning on Philly(Cleveland just too beat up) with the Jets(Bills have fallen off the face of the NFL) coming in a strong 2nd. Week 16 you have the Saints probably in a must win vs Detroit and Denver at home with an outside shot of looking at SF now that they are playing some decent ball. Week 17, still have left Atlanta, Green Bay and maybe Arizona. Hope it does not go that far but these are initial thoughts.

I like Phi vs Cle this week also like Was @ CIN

I used NE, ARZ, ATL, JAX, CAR, NO, HOU, BAL, CHI, MIA, IND, PITT , Dal , Ten,

If am still alive week 16 I like Den vs BUF or SF @ STL

Its either Philly or Miami for me this week, used Indy last week. SF traveling east to play a 1:00 game - that's worked out VERY well so far this season.

First team in each matchup are the preferred pick of the week.

Week 15 options:

Indy vs Det, Mia vs SF, NE @ Oak, Phi vs Cleveland

Week 16 options:

NO @ Det, Indy @ Jax, Mia @ KC, Den vs Buf, Hous @ Oak,

Week 17 options:

Atl vs Stl, GB vs Det, Bal vs Jax, Pit vs clev, TB vs Oak, AZ vs Sea,

I have used TB, Pit, Az, otherwise I would feel a lot better about week 17. I have Indy left, am tempted to go the all team against det route. Denver scares me but they look like they have gotten it together. Worried about losing another rb though. Houston looks solid, could be a good option against Oak - esp if j russ is out and walter flops again.

I am tempted to sit Indy and play then in week 16 at Jax. They lost at home against them and that team just isnt any good. Week 17 - another option - NE had beaten the bills 10 straight. Think the bills have it in them to beat them finally? I dont.

Kyle,RE: Week 16 options:

For 14 weeks, I have yet to play an away team. From your list of Week 16 options, that leaves me with Den vs. Buf. I do not trust Denver. They've ousted more suicide pool participants by far this year with their sporadic play.

I notice you don't have NE vs. Arizona in your Week 16 options. How do you (or anyone else) feel about this game? I've got to think New England, fighting for the division/playoffs, at home, against a West coast team has got to be given some consideration.

Yeah I forgot NE vs AZ but both are good teams and despite the west coast travel, Im scared of that game. NE barely survived against Sea. Lets see how they fare in Oak.

I considered saving NE for that game too - but went with them last week.

I am thinking the same thing re: Indy. I know the easy play is to use them this week, but I think the other five guys alive in my pool are going to use them as well. Detroit has a 0% chance of winning and I should take the safe route. However, I'm tempted to go against the grain and take NE over Oak this week and Ind over Jax next week. If they all use Indy this week, then they are going to have a tough call next week (unless they are taking the "pick against Detroit route" and all pick NO). I'm hoping the Lions win a game for that reason. They could have beaten Min both times. But anyway, as of now I am leaning NE this week, Ind next week, and Atl or GB to close the season. If I go with Ind this week, then I am thinking Hou or NO in week 16 and I don't like that.

You and I are on the same page except I was considering saving Indy and going with Philly (instead of NE, who I already used). What changed my mind was the fact that, although Indy should win next week at Jacksoville, it is a Thursday night game. I think that gives Jacksonville that much bigger of a home field advantage, so I’m going to steer clear of Indy at Jax for week 16. I'm going Indy week 15 then I think Houston at Oakland is real solid for wek 16. Or Denver at home, though they scare the heck out of me. Probably Houston, who is playing real well.

After watching New Orleans last night, how do you guys feel about picking them next week at Detroit?
I didnt get to watch any of the game last night (inlaws in town) so Im hoping for others feedback. They put up a lot of points against a good d but on the flip side, statistically the bears didnt do much on offense so thats worrisome.

A sound strategy is anyone against Detroit. Already used IND so I'm rolling with MIA this week. NO next week, then GB week 17.IND will destroy them this week. Next week at home the Lions have no advantage, the stadium will not sell out and it will be quiet like a graveyard in there. While DET might score 24, NO will do alot more here than last night against CHI, Brees will rebound nicely for those still in the playoffs. The vegas total points line ought to be over 50!GB in week 17 will not have the playoffs to play for in my opinion, but will not let the lowly lions get their only win of the season in Lambeau. Lock it up.

I do like the fact that New Orleans will have a few extra days of rest and, although it's on the road, they will be playing in a dome, which should be somewhat familiar to them. But, the Saints playoff hopes are all but dead and I think Detroit (avoiding history) will actually have more to play for. I guess we'll get more opinions (and an odds line) after the Week 15 games and Week 16 is actually upon us.

i got a really funny feeling that CINCY will win this game outrigh over WASHthey play at home. terrible weather. rift between zorn and portis. WASH is falling apartCINCY still has Ocho Stinko and TJH that can put up solid numbers.if Benson can get 80-90 and a TD (long shot to some) i think the bungles can turn the upset ! :goodposting:
