Week 16 disappointments (1 Viewer)

I realize there is a venting thread but who let you down so far in your quest for a championship?

While I'm still ahead by 29 and have Vick and Maclin for Tuesday my opponent has 4 players left and I'm worried. My biggest 2 disappointemnts are the Chargers defense that gave me just 2 fantasy points and Megatron with just 4 catches for 52 yards. While I've never liked the Chargers defense much on the road this was the Bungals without TO and Ochocinco.

Manning sliding at the 4 instead of running it in really angers me. I'm still in it, but that didn't help.

Dallas Defense.... TE K Boss....RB M Tolbert (inj)

and then there is my decision not to start RB M Forte...sigh

Ray Rice, Rashard Jennings, Larry Fitzgerald, Wes Welker started on one team

Ahmad Bradshaw, Marshawn Lynch, and SD Defense started on another team

RJennings - I started him over Blount. Now I'm 10 points down but I still have Vick/Turner left to play, but opponent has Colston/DJax. I would have had a nice lead if I has not switched my lineup.

Ray Rice and Bradshaw, but then I was pleasantly surprised by Ronnie Brown and Zach Miller. So the football gods give and take. I still have a good chance of winning if Brees and Roddy White do what they customarily do.

Peyton Hillis. Who could have seen that coming?

(What's that? Absolutely everybody except me? OK, carry on then.)

This. Noq i have to sweat until Tuesday to see if Desean can get me 2 points. If he just runs it in, i could celebrate my championship. Chris Cooley dropping an easy TD hurt too. I should have left in Tamme.

Marshawn Lynch

Wes Welker

Jon Kitna

Those three got me a combined total of less than 15.

Was up by 61 points until the Tampa Bay explosion.

Basically my whole team let me down with the exception of Blount. Kitna, SD defense, Lynch, Walter, Armstrong. Had one of my worst weeks ever in FF

Boldin, Wayne, Chris Johnson, McFadden....just brutal. Yet all I need to Brees and ADP to kick ### and vick to be human just for one night and I will be fine.

But in all my years of playing this game (20 plus years) I have never seen so many good players take a dump like this in week 16. It has truly been one of the most bizzare years ever for FF.

I dunno - guys like Calvin, Rice, Bradshaw, and VJax all scored about 10 points in PPR leagues, and all had servicable NFL days. Yea, you would have liked more points, but it's not because they were awful - they just didn't get a TD (which is going to happen.) I'm not disappointed in any of them.

Guys that did disappoint? AJ (he probably plays if they were fighting for a playoff spot), Fitz, Benson, P Hillis, Boldin (what the heck happened to him?)

I tried to pick Jennings up but was unable. don't know if I would have started him over Blount and actually was going to pick him up trying to keep my opponent from getting him if he needed a RB

Another vote for the SD def, who I had going in 2 championship games. The Bengals minus TO and Ocho, playing for nothing with SD playing for everything. Just mystifying how they could be so bad. I'm tempted to throw Wayne in there, but unfortunately he's made a habit of poor games this season.

I guess I don't think when a reciever like Johnson scores about 1/2 of what he has been averaging per game for the year that there's something wrong complaining about. Especially when its the championship game.

The massive Football Guys Kool-Aid drink of Dallas Defense and Rashad Jennings. If I had avoided those I'd be in much better shape right now. Now I need a small miracle.

Peyton sliding at the end of the game was annoying as hell.

San Diego DST :2cents:

But still in a great position to win it tomorrow night.

Hillis (who I should have benched for Tampa Mike as a flex)....and Jennings, Wayne and Megatron (feel less bad about these as I was always going to play them).

And in IDP.....TJ Ward and Craig Dahl. Dahl I understand because he had a bad matchup and I was hoping for the best, but Ward? Made worse because Pat Chung was on my bench again and got an INT in a fairly bad matchup.

I know Jennings is good, but 7 receptions for 142 yards is disappointing?

I think he means Rashad Jennings

That would make more sense. I was confused because he listed him with other WR's and said he was starting him the whole time. I wouldnt think Rashard was a must start.

i let myself down as my bench outscored my starters.........all the signs were there to start freeman over schaub but i went with the "go with the guys who brought you there"

then i abandoned that philosophy and plugged in rashad jennings over LT or Ronnie Brown, who both scored more than double what jennings did

Neil Rackers will likely outperform matt bryant

i benched miles austin for larry fitzgerald.....list goes on and on, but i still have a chance to win if McCoy and Turner dont both have huge days.

I had the aforementioned Peyton Manning, San Diego D, Ray Rice, Rashad Jennings and VJax on one team.

While benching Jamaal Charles and not jumping on the opportunity to grab Gronkowski (started Owen Daniels instead with AJ out).

Even had the foresight to bench Reggie Wayne... not that it did much good.

I knew that team was done as soon as I saw Tolbert get levelled and that my opponent had Mathews inexplicably in his lineup alongside Foster. It was fate.

Won my 20-team semifinal. Just need to close an 11-point deficit with Vick up against my opponent's Matt Ryan to take home a win for my 14-1 team.

I need to stop naming teams after the Bills as they always find a way to choke in the Super Bowl.

Who would have thought this team would get beaten down in the finals...

Rivers

Peterson

Bradshaw

Fitzgerald

AJ

Calvin

Gates

Akers

Miami

Average score: 120pts/wk

Lowest score: 90pts

This week: 37pts with Peterson/Akers left to play

Obviously having to replace AJ/Gates didn't help, but still...

Had four options @ RB in a 16-team league (one would think that is a good thing). But to quote Jim Joyce, "I kicked the @*!$ out of it."

Had Hillis, Jennings, Torain and Green-Ellis....also Ricky Williams on the bench. I go with Hillis and Jennings. In our system, they combined for 30 pts. Law Firm and Torain combined for 51. I am down by 40 with the Eagles D left. I would just need a solid game and I would win most likely. Now I need a couple defensive TDs and a couple other turnovers AND a shutout. So I am pretty much done.

Sick feeling when the optimal lineup would win and you made the wrong decisions.

Another vote from me. I used this same rationale to put them into my lineup even though I knew they're not the same team on the road. Ugh.

I really cannot complain about my teams performance week 16 - 141 pts with three players to go (McCoy, Akers, Philly Def). The problem is I was knocked out week 15 (even though I was the second highest scoring team!). I think I would have liked to see the team that knocked me out to have stepped up this week...now it looks like the 4th place finisher during the season will win it all.

Ray Rice - 40 pts last week, 10 pts this week

Calvin Johnson - 25 pts last week, 9 pts this week

Santana Moss - 27 pts last week, 13 pts this week

Vincent Jackson - 34 pts last week, 9 pts this week

Chris Cooley - 19 pts last week, 9 pts this week

Two good showings by my team, and done in by Head to Head play.

everyone on my team did ok but the other guys team blew up and now i lost and im pretty mad about it but ill be ok so nothing to worry about over here my brothers

Vincent Jackson was a black hole as well. Add him to Dallas D and Rashad. All horrible calls by numerous sources.

Kitna, VJax, put Fitz in over DJax thinking there was no way the NFL would postpone 2 games due to snow AND SD's D. What an epic fail. Played against Rodgers, Woodhead, Wallace, Austin, Witten & Packers D. I'm going shopping now to alleviate the pain.

Chris Johnson and VJax(started him over DeSean Jackson). Luckily, still in position to win it. Thank you, Rob Gronkowski.

Josh Freeman let me down the most. Dude doesn't throw more than 2 TDs all season, and most games just 1 - then he busts out for 5 scores from my bench. If I had any inkling that he was capable of such a big game he'd have been in there over Kitna.

VERNON DAVIS AND HILLIS LET ME DOWN SHOULD OF LEFT THE THEORY OF START YOUR STUDS AT HOME AND WENT WITH BLOUNT OHH BY THE WAY PLAYED AGAINST FREEMAN AND ZACH MILLER TO NAME A FEW, FREAKIN BS

Yeah, most of my teams sucked. So did both of the teams I'm playing against, so it ain't over yet. Seems like a ton of week 16 busts. I'll have to go to the archives, but I wonder if both of my Super Bowls will be the lowest scoring in league history.

Went into the finals hopeful but not really confident in both Ray Rice and Chris Johnson; CJ has been good at times but not great. Teams, wisely, set up their defenses to stop CJ and let whoever is throwing the ball try and beat them. There was no reason to be confident that CJ was going to step up and have a great game but he had a rather poor game along with the rest of the team.

Ray Rice also has been a disappointment this season. Is Cameron still struggling as to how to best use his passing game in conjunction with the running game? This could hurt them in the playoffs against elite teams.

VJax as a big disappointment after last week but you almost had to play him. Sat Mike Williams for him which turned out to be a mistake but I don't feel foolish about it. The whole Chargers team fell on it's collective faces yesterday; AWFUL performance with the playoffs riding on the outcome.

Given that I had an up and down season to begin with I was happy to make it into the finals and a least take the 2nd place $$$$.

Miles Austin was one lucky play from being the whole reason I lost the championship. He was dropping passes and td's all game long. Well, not quite ALL game long.
