Roethlisberger down. On ground for a longggggggggg time. Possible concussion is speculated.

edit: Stretcher being brought out to the field for him. Hard to say what his injury is.

Caddy hurt. I hope not, but it looked bad. He was screaming bloody murder. As he's screaming he yells "are you bleeping kidding me"

looked in serious pain holding his knee. Could hear him yelling "Are you freakin kidding me"

Cadillac Williams' left knee gave out after a long gain, and he had to be helped off the field. He's off to the locker room; he can't put any pressure on it. This looks bad.

CBS halftime show saying they're taking Roethlisberger off in a cart. Wow.
:nods: It was definitely a concussion. He got doubled high-low on the hit and he took a blow on his left temple from the high tackler's right shoulder, then the back of his head whiplashed into the ground as the high tackler landed on his head on the follow-through. He was moving his legs while on the ground, and raised his right arm for a "thumbs up " before he went into the tunnel.I'm thinking there is also a cumulative effect in play. Roeth also got knocked woozy by a hit last week in the TN game. Not sure if it was reported or not because it happened on 3rd down and he didn't miss a play, but I was at the game and he came off extremely slowly and the trainers were giving him the "how many fingers" test on the sidelines. It wasn't clear whether he was going to come back on the field or not.The ambulance took him straight to the hospital after he was carted up the tunnel. They definitely took every precaution in this case.

Ben also suffered multiple concussions the year of his motorcycle accident. He suffered one concussion in the accident and another on the field during play that season.http://www.iowaepsdt.org/epsdtnews/2006/Fa.../concussion.htm

Evidence is accumulating that the effects of multiple concussions are additive, and that a history of multiple concussions increases the risk of future concussions. While a definite “cutoff” number of concussions for removal from sport does not yet exist, a history of multiple concussions may warrant a discussion of the appropriateness of continuing in a particular sport. Evidence from studies of genetic markers and traumatic brain injury may also provide future information for an athlete’s risk of sports-related concussion and potential long-term effects.
This has to be a concern. He doesn't want to turn into Steve Young.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Young_(American_football)

The 1999 season would turn out to be Steve Young's last. Young was plagued by concussions throughout his career; officially, Young had suffered seven concussions, but many believe the number to be higher.[citation needed] During a Week 3 Monday Night Football game against the Arizona Cardinals, Young was violently sacked by Cardinals' cornerback Aeneas Williams due to a missed blocking assignment by 49ers' running back Lawrence Phillips. Young was knocked out of the game and did not return to that game, or any game the rest of the season, suffering from symptoms of post-concussion syndrome. Young was forced to retire at the end of the season.

:sadbanana: Do any QBs play with the new "Revolution"-style helmets? I can't think of any off the top of my head. Seems like something the Steelers might want to look into, though. It has worked pretty well for Troy Polamalu.

Chris Horton, Redskin safety, shaken up after a hard hit on a San Francisco WR. Horton helped off field.
