Week 2 (1 Viewer)

Twilight

Footballguy
Interesting week. It was the 2nd highest scoring week for the past 4 years, using SSL as the basis, as that has been the most consistent and a good sample size. 133.27 this week, beaten only by week 13 in 2004. (The average scores from 2004-06 has been 118). Despite this, there was only one Immunity score truly outstanding (see PDSL)In a look at important players this week, surprise, surprise, no bootee has Carson Palmer. Nor are any of the top 5 scoring QB, WR, or TE on any bootee, while there are 2 teams with a top 5 scoring RB.As for most owned by bootees, Pennington, Tony Scheffler, Toomer, and Santana Moss are owned by 4 teams, but only Moss was anything like a high pick, so it's just coincidence there. Lee Evans, though, owned by 5 teams, was probably a high enough pick to do serious damage to those teams.A little more surprising is I looked at the immunity holders this week. Only 4 teams had Carson Palmer, and only 7/14 had one of the top 5 QBs. 6/14 had a top 5 RB and 5/14 had a top WR. 9/14 had a top TE, however (none with Gates, though). THe most valuable were 2 lower round WRs - 6 teams owned Bruce, 5 owned Galloway Which brings to an interesting little stat. The immunity holder's average score for these positions (both used and bench players, which means a lot of zeros for backups)QB 17.43888889 (13 Zeros)RB 8.88 (17)WR 12.40235294 (19)TE 12.25862069 (3)Booteesqb 8.936363636 (16)rb 6.848275862 (18)wr 6.584444444 (30)te 6.385714286 (6)No surprise the average scores are generally almost double, as immunity scores are generally close to double as well. But very interestingly, the difference in RB scores is very close. Early and small sample so far, but it just justifies what a lot of the veterans of these leagues have seen. RB's just aren't as valuable here as they are in a most regular leagues. Now on to the results:Staff IDP - Even if Lito played, he still probably wouldn't have helped. Jeff Pasquino is out. David Baker is safe next week.BDSL - Looks like Capt Hook's .05 bid won't have an effect. He's out by .15 (Big OUCH) Orgazmo is safe next weekWSL - 2 people saved themselves. Fiddles wasn't one. Valence and Tony Jabroni join him on the shelf. Ravnzfan, Aaron R, and Getinthemix have the safe spots for the week.PDSL - Rzrback, Renesauz, Prof Chaos, and Busman are out, as none managed to save themselves.Up top, Yudkin, Wraith5, Milfoshane, and UFFL Commish (with an impressive 209, third best alive score since I've been running these)MBSL - Rzrback loses his 2nd team, while Jiggyonthehut is out in 3Dpeease get the same hard luck award I got in WSL1, as he has top score in MBSL1.Fiddles benefits from the Dpease being out by getting the immunity, with The Ref also being safe (justifying his desire for the #1).WE - Rudy made it interesting, but is out by 1 pt. Jeff Pasquino is safe next week.IDP - Nice battle at the bottom, with Miggity being the odd man out. Pigskin Pimp gets the immunity.SSL - Rzrback finally manages to save himself, keeping him from a hat trick of bootings. Shadowfax, JMills, Bostonfred are the all gone. Wdcrob in 4 needed 32 to pass Fiddles. He got 31, so we have the first tie of the year. The Tiebreaker is the score from a player not used in the scoring. Wdcrob has Huard with an unused 14. Fiddles, however, has Tarvaris Jackson with an unused 15. A brutal way to go, but Wdcrob is the last out.Up top, Preds, Abrecher, Frank Black, and Footballhead get immunity.GL all. Until next week

SSLs - Rzrback, Jmills, Bostonfred, and Wdcrob are the ones in DangerRzr needs at least 25 out of 4 players to get in the range of the next up. JMills is basically done, as the Suisam isn't getting 17. BF has needs a reasonable 9 from 4 players to tie Fullback Fro, who does have a couple to go as well. Jeff Pasquino is the real target, as he's done with 110, so 15 is the real number he's looking for. And Wdcrob needs 30 from 3 players just to tie. WE - Rudy is low man with 94. He has just Santana(-1). Radballs is 14 up with Baskett(-11) to go.IDP - Duckboy has 2(Portis(-.3) and Akers(-2)). He has people 1.85, 6.2, 8, and 9.6 up. Way to close to call at this point.Anarchy: .02 separates the top of A1. Duckboy is dominating A3, which has the biggest spread (226.8) from top to bottom (the other three are 121-141)WSL - :wall: Out in week 1. 2nd best score overall week 2. I know it really wasn't a team that could win it all(Carson isn't scoring 57 every day), but sheesh.Fiddles, Bri, and JetWillWin are low men now. Fiddles is done and out. Bri has Curtis and LJSmith(-2) and only 3pt deficit from a done Valence. Valence is in deep doodoo. JWW has Santana and Portis(-7) and needs 15 pts to pass TonyJabroni, who has only late-signee Caldwell(-3)PDSL - Rzrback(again), Renesauz, Prof Chaos, and Busman are in danger.Rzr needs 12 out of Santana(-4) to approach Bostonfred and Fiddles, but both have players left. Renesauz has a couple, but he needs 15 to get to Old Milwaukee, who also has a couple.Prof Chaos needs just 4 pts to pass Doc Niner, who is done. If he gets it, it will justify drafting 3 D's, as it is his 3rd D(PHI) he needs 17 pts out of. (He does need 4, as he loses the tiebreaker if it's just 3)Busman has a couple of well, but 26 pts is a lot. BDSL - Pictus Cat's -9 might come into play here. He has just a 1.75 pt lead over Valence, who is low man. Valence has Akers and Baskett(-3.9). PC has McNabb. There are 3 others in close range, and they all have players going. This will be a battle.MBSL - Football Jones and Jiggy are the low men. FJ still has Cooley, so in definite danger for a 3rd time this week is Rzrback. He's up by 4.25, with Lloyd(-11.2) and LJ(-6.7). Jiggys' short roster is done.BTW, Shadowfax has a decent deficit already to make up to avoid being the first boot from MBSL 2.And just added, a Staff IDP league with almost all staff(and Construx Boy). Will Grant was the week 1 bootee (By .55 behind Maurile). This week, it looks like Jeff P is pretty doomed, down by 40. Westbrook(-6.6), Spikes(-6), and Sheppard(-5.25) will put up a few points, but not that many. (As a note, please check for scoring rules/lineup for accuracy since I'm coming into it cold. Thanx)GL Tomorrow, and we should all rejoice that the Universe has returned to normal, now that the 49ers have sole possession of the NFC West lead. :D  :banned:

Fro's right though, a WIN is a WIN. Even if they were ugly.

My Eagles won't be 2-0 after tonight, but they should be.

Let the guys woop it up while they can. It's been a while since the 49ers gave their fans something to really cheer about, and a 2-0 start looks Ok to me.

Thanks Twilight for all of your hard work. It is appreciated!!!

Need peeps rooting for the non-staff member in that league...

BDSL

Me, Rad and Hook all got plenty of points to get us out of any danger from Portis, Westbrook and S. Moss.

So that leaves Pictus and Valence. So assuming I did my math right and since the league is decimal scoring...

Final scores:

Valence - 116.75

Pictus Cat - 116.40

xWorking the results now, but this is incorrect.

Well I did the math for ONE right. :tinfoilhat: I screwed up with the other two because I missed a score for WR's which would mean another score got dropped off vs. total. This is why I tend not to do my own scores for survivor.

This SSL is a lot more fun live than it was immediately post draft. I was feeling lost in my first draft of this league and have a very tenuous RB corps, but as you pointed out Twilight, it is not an RB heavy league like typically seen in FF.

Excellent work.

ETA: 4 of top 9 SSL4, way to go troops!

SSL - Rzrback finally manages to save himself, keeping him from a hat trick of bootings. Shadowfax, JMills, Bostonfred are the all gone.

OUCH

Wasn't this guy is SSL1 at one point.... Next year he'll be captain of the scout league.

I figured I'd be getting the boot for sure this week. Get to hang around but not for much longer I'm sure. One of the worst drafts I've ever had.

Horrible showing from me this year in many leagues. SSL - no QBs, only 2 WRs and LJ sucking gave me the boot this week.MBSL - Min DST may be my 2nd best player - am I done here yet?PDSL - probably will be gone by week 6-7.WSL - could be my only hope this year. Many thanks to Twilight again this year for hosting all this and for providing more and more info on a weekly basis. :D

The guy you draft as your QB1 kills a dog or two and next thing you know you're on the outside looking in. :goodposting:

Cool... immunity for the week. I haven't had that in a loooong time!

My WR's are ridiculously weak (after Randy and Anquan that is), and will eventually be my downfall, but for now, I'm happy to be going strong in SSL1 and in 6th place overall in points!

Nice job on the stat analysis Twilight.

Great job with this Twilight. There is a mistake in our lineups. The correct starters are:

1 QB

2 RB

3 WR

1 TE

1 Flex (RB/WR/TE)

1 K

2 DL

3 LB

3 DB

1 IDP Flex (DL/LB/DB)

The scoring appears to be using 2 offensive flex players and 2 defensive flex players, instead of 1 each. The total shoiuld be 18.

Fitting, I butchered that draft and expected the early exit. It started when I went Heap/Palmer instead of Palmer/Heap at 2/3, and climaxed with poor predraft management in taking Reggie Williams and Matt Jones back to back. Thanks for running this Twilight, and to Rudnicki for organizing. I shall return.

Damn, I missed that too. I think it's actually wrong on the site, which is why Twilight had it like that.

The site has the individual positions correct, but then the total starters says 18-20...which makes no sense. But it is the site that is incorrect because of the 18-20 thing. That's why we have 2 extra starters.

Jene PMed me yesterday on it. Unfortunately FFLM can't manage the Flex that way(1 O, 1D), so I'll be doing some adjustments. I'll have the revised results up by Sunday.
