Week 3 Injury Thread (1 Viewer)

anyone know what happened to Rudi?
I would like to say that since I am getting blown out, I am resting him....but that is not the case. he already has 17 carries and is getting nothing. Watson has found a few holes. I hacve seen nothing about an injury - hopefully they are just changing pace.

Jake Delhomme hurt is elbow. Coming out of the game for now.

There wasn't any contact, he threw the ball and grabbed his elbow.

Steve Smith CAR suffered an undisclosed injury in the second half Sunday.

There has been no word on the extent of the injury, but Smith missed the majority of the second half. He's been in the locker room with trainers.

Jake Delhomme suffered an elbow injury in the fourth quarter Sunday and was forced to go to the sideline.

A hit did not cause the injury; Delhomme grasped his throwing elbow after attempting a pass. The announcers compared it to watching a pitcher grab his arm. David Carr came on in relief.

This is just UNTRUE.Steve Smith sat out for ONE series and he is now back in and just had a 12 yard reception.Although, he has been far from himself today.

Guys DON"T report anything unless it's accurate!

Smith is has been in all but 1 series as said earlier. No apparent injury, though his best play today has been jawing at D. Hall enough to get a crucial personal foul call.

Really, really weird play with Delhomme. Looked like he was never touched - just grabbed his elbow.

Glad to see someone clear up the situation. Having said that, if it was posted on Rotoworld, don't blame the guy for passing it on. If I saw it on Rotoworld or some other reputable site, I'd assume it was accurate as well.

Did Westbrook finish the game? Heard something about a potential injury, but can't find anything on it.
Sep 23 Westbrook was taken to the locker room for X-rays Sunday during the third quarter of Philadelphia's game against the Detroit Lions. His return was doubtful. Westbrook injured his ribs in the third quarter on a 5-yard run that came four plays before the Eagles took a 49-21 lead.Advice: Westbrook had 110 yards rushing on 14 carries and had touchdown runs of 25 and 5 yards. He also caught five passes for 111 yards and scored on a 43-yard screen pass. Monitor the developments.

Delhomme will be X-rayed and evaluated upon his return to Charlotte. He had his right elbow wrapped in ice after the game.Delhomme said the injury came on a quarterback sack by Atlanta's John Abraham in the third quarter when Delhomme tried to hold onto the ball as Abraham tried to rip it out. The Panthers ultimately scored on that drive, with Delhomme throwing a five-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jeff King, but Delhomme took himself out of the game during the next series when his elbow kept hurting every time he threw.Delhomme said that after a short pass to Brad Hoover caused intense pain that he decided he should stop "trying to be Mr. Macho" and come out of the game. Quarterback David Carr replaced Delhomme and finished off the Panther victory.

Didn't Clinton Portis miss a month with bruised ribs?I think it's a little early to say Westbrook will be ok.

Here's the ESPN story about it:Delhomme's Elbow

I haven't been able to find anything updating Ahman Green's injury or status except for this link below where it says he declined comment after the game and Kubiak saying that he will know more this afternoon (which I'm sure he'll update us on like he did Andre Johnson last week).

Although, I am optomistic about Green's injury because reports I read here say that Green was walking/limping around the sideline during the game and this story has a picture of Green sitting on the bench with an ice pack on his knee. If the injury was something serious then I think he would be in the back in the training room rather then out in plain sight walking around the sideline. Just my opinion for what it is worth but you're only suposed to have ice on the area for 20 minutes or so at a time. If this was a ligament injury or something I figure they would be doing some type of ultra-sound to speed healing inbetween ice sessions. This leads me to believe that this could just be a really bad knee bruise which if anyone ever had I'm sure they can vouch for the fact that they hurt like a SON OF A ______.

Again, JMHO.
