Week 3 Waiver Wire (1 Viewer)

Very quietly Brandon Coleman played 89% of the Saints snaps to just 65% for Ginn. Went 4-84 with a TD.

I know Snead is coming back, but Coleman looks like he can fill a big slot receiver role that Drew Brees made pretty productive over the years. Brees seems frustrated with Ginn. Wouldn't be that big of a shock if Ginn is reduced to deep threat when Snead returns with Coleman maintaining his slot role.
The drops and the poor route by Ginn were not good. That doesn't fly. Ironically Coleman has had problems with drops in the past but Sunday I thought he looked like a mature receiver. They need a serious no. 2 threat to emerge.

And the Seahawks' #2 WR hasn't been fantasy relevant for several years.  Under 7 FPPG (standard scoring) for the last 4 seasons.

2013 Baldwin 6.8 FPPG

2014 Harvin 6.2 FPPG

2015 Lockett 6.5 FPPG

2016 Lockett 5.5 FPPG
Definitely my thoughts on the Seahawks WRs. If their #1 Baldwin is gonna be up and down like a yo-yo, it's only going to be worse for the guys farther down on the pecking order.

Went out after waivers after losing Ben Watson by $1 and picked up ASJ (should be back and probably immediately starting for the Jets this week lol) and then dropped Gates to pick up WR Ricardo Lewis, who I have a gut feeling will be the guy over moreso than Higgins. Someone in my league put up $15 to get him... yikes.

I'm kinda curious what you wanted?  I'd rather own Carson and Nelson than Watson and Williams, FWIW.
I own Graham.

Doyle and ebron were still on ww.

Was hoping one of them would be available but at priority 8 out of 12 I missed them both.  Moved up to 4 though.  Watson isn't a bad consolation for not burning my spot I guess

Slightly surprised Zach Miller isn't getting any buzz whatsoever.  15 targets in 2 games, which is top 5 amongst TEs, after being 10th in targets/game last year.

Perhaps I am i the minority, but I am taking a $1 flyer by dropping Moncrief and adding Funchess with the hope that many of the Olsen targets can funnel his way.

If you play in yahoo leagues don't forget to pick up Matt Breida for the Thursday night game to see if Hyde makes it though the game.

I'm a Carson owner but I don't see how you can say that. Allen is averaging about 15 points a game. Carson only scored 11 against lowly San Francisco.
I just think Carson's talent level is superior, he has a higher ceiling and passes the eye test for me.  It's still very early days but I'm hitching my wagon to Carson in dynasty.

Reading that there's talk of Darkwa supplanting Perkins.

I know the offense is absolute crap, but a lead back in any offense is at least worth an end-of-bench spot... right?

If we are talking about Chris Carson and Javorius Allen, the answer is CARSON, and it isn't close.
I hope your right. I put in for both (Carson 37%, Allen 45%). I wanted Allen more but missed out. I did get Carson.

I valued Allen a little more because his situation is much better. I agree Carson is the better talent. Now I am hoping Seattle can pull that line together and the RB shenanigans of the past don't happen again.

Agreed.  Especially in PPR, I think Allen this year.  Carson more talented and better in a dynasty format.  Both are good.  You will do fine with Carson as your pickup.

Used to love pulling this move when I played in a Yahoo league!  You cut some dead weight right before the Thursday game and grab a high upside handcuff or backup RB.  See if anyone goes down.  If so, you have a nice RB for next week and own his rights.  If not, Yahoo lets you drop him that same week still, if I recall.

You really can't just lump Lockett in as a generic #2.He is a special talent. Very simliar to Tyreek Hill. Last year was very misleading for him. He tore his PCL early in the season and played through it. However, for the most part he was limited to the return game and just a bit part of the offense. However, late in the year is when he was really given the number 2 job. Week 13 to be exact and he went on the be the 2nd top performing fantasy WR in the entire league in 2 of the next 3 weeks.Weeks 13 and 15.

Kearse is gone now. Graham is hurt. Opportunity is there. Wilson isn't going to keep being held under 200 yards passing. Baldwin draws all the other teams top corners. Lockett is going to have a blowup game real soon.

Amendola over taylor gabriel?
I would say yes for a WR3/4 spot. Amendola has more upside in my eyes for targets and opportunity, but you must see him as an end of bench spot. I'm just under the assumption that he will only last a few games. But could fill in nicely for some of the early WR byes of guys like DT.

After playing limited snaps Week #1 (where he should have a had long TD if Russell didn't overthrow him) , he played as the clear #2 receiver in Week#2. He led the Seahawks in targets and catches and out snapped Richardson by a good margin.

Snap counts week 2

Baldwin 81 of 82.(99%)

Lockett 61 of 82(74%)

Richardson 39 of 82 (48%)
A little misleading since Richardson broke his finger on the first drive of the game and left for a while to get it treated. Let's see how it plays out this week before we declare Lockett the #2 WR. I would bet that Richardson and Lockett take turns putting up WR2 numbers once this offense starts clicking. Probably a crapshoot on which one gets hurt, given their histories.

ETA: Sorry @NE_REVIVAL beat me to it.

no you don't want any piece of Amendola..he has a history of head injuries he's just another tackle away from a scrambled brain..shouldn't he just retire? seriously as good as his stats might look or sound, he's not worth the investment he's about as GUARANTEED to get hurt as the sun is guaranteed to rise in the east tomorrow..

I like Chris Thompson but he appears to be a less effective version of James White, a guy in a far more potent offense..both have value, Thompson should easily outpace last year's stats, especially with the lesser WR's they have, and Reed being hurt again.

Sanu is rock steady. Marqis Lee is the better option to Hurns.

I wouldnt touch Darkwa with a 10 ft pole, he's talented, but the Giants' goose is cooked..when the forever-hapless Lions come to your house and beat you up, you're done.next step is players throwing in the towel..I dont know what a dumpster fire is, or how/why people think it relates to football.. but I'll say the Giants are about as close to a collapse you'll ever see..

The "investment" being a free pick-up for the last guy on your bench?

I get what you're saying, but if he stays healthy for even one game he's probably worth that kind of "investment".

Lockett was very productive in the 2015 fantasy stretch and was coming on late again last season until the injury.  He could have had a monster game that day.  This team isn't the 2013 team of Lynch.

Agreed, that 2013 team was good on offense. ;)

At any moment Cordarrelle Patterson could become the next waiver allstar. All it would take is an injury to any of the Raiders top 3 WRs. He's already pushing for playing time, even as the #4. Nice rushing TD last week. Gets return yardage for those leagues. Needs a pop in opportunity on a sick offense.

I am hearing and seeing a lot of love for Hunter Henry...above the likes of many who are outperforming him right now. Lots of targets to go around and Gates can still play. Tell me again why I should go after Henry vs. Witton, Eifert (hurt dude), Fleener, and someone else is dropping Jimmy Graham. Henry over all of these guys?

I see Henry as a top 5 moving forward TE??? Seems kinda steep, or not?

That offense is so damned fun. I'd just like to see Patterson and Cook get more involved.

Henry is better than Witten / Eifert / Fleener.  And will be more productive than Graham.  What else do you need to know?

Perkins isn't.
This.

I'm a longtime Giants fan and I'll say this. If Darkwa could passblock with any consistency he'd be the starter right now. He has issues with awareness in space and right now Giants can ill afford to have a third guy trying to get Eli killed.

A third guy? The entire offensive line is trying to get him killed.

Somehow I doubt that an injury to Seth Roberts would make Patterson the next waiver allstar.

Tedious WR4/5 stuff here....

This look about right?

  1. J.J. Nelson
  2. Jermaine Kearse
  3. Mohamed Sanu
  4. Rashard Higgins
  5. Tyler Lockett
I laid out my thoughts on Nelson v. Kearse v. Higgins upthread. Sanu is the 2nd WR in Atlanta, thought it's questionable how meaningful that is, and I don't really trust the Seattle passing game and Lockett in particular - he's teased before. We do get 0.025 pts per return yard (1 per 40.)
Nelson

Lockett

Higgins

Kearse

Sanu
Picked up JJ for 3%  :loco:  & plugged him into my Flex

Limited in practice so I need a contingency plan - Nelson goes MNF, so that’s in my favor, but probably have to make a gut check Sunday morning. WR6/WR7 are in the IR slots so my only other option is Kupp (e.g., done, so I have no option.) Eifert declared out today so I swapped him with WR7 (C Coleman), dropping him for...

Kearse or Sanu?

tl;dr - I’m 55, thinking of buying a Tesla, & I’m worried about my WR5 on a Friday night instead of making dinner reservations. #midlifecrisis

Geronimo Allison with Cobb ruled out.

Nelson or lockett? Worried about the hammy and mint night game.  Guess I can flex him and drip For  Beasley or Williams or Jaron

You are only saying a gut feeling with "LOUIS" bc you missed out on Higgins.

So.....I own McCaffrey, Crowell, Carson , Rawls, Doug Martin, Burkhead and Lewis in a ppr. Needless to say I'm not thrilled.

Bidding on Mixon tonight. Can't figure out what % of bid pts to put out there. Sigh....anyone?
