Week 3 WW pickups (1 Viewer)

Le'Ron McClain?

I honestly can't get a bead on how the Ravens RB situation is going to shake out, but productive backs are hard to come by on the wire so why not?

Edited to add:

Brandon Lloyd

As a 49ers fan the mere thought of the makes me what to :own3d:

Due to Colston's injury and Santonio's failure to live up to expectations thus far, Bobby Engram has vaulted to the top of my WW pickup list. Everyone else will be going for the hot week 3 plays. I'm looking to the future.

Brandon Lloyd always had the talent to be a #1. The problem was mental. Now that he's back with his college coach (Ron Turner, Bears offensive coordinator), I though that this might work out well. All in all, a VERY nice trade for the Bears to go from Berrian (way to expensive, heavily overpayed by Minny) to Lloyd. I don't know how consistent he will be, but as long as Orton is locking on and trusting him he should do really well.

Billy McMullen has to be, getting some looks as he is being targeted by Hasselbeck.

Antonio Bryant for the same reason above but from Griese.

Chris Henry with Palmer and Co. maybe getting back on track?

Slaton looked decent (in the box score from here).

Rudi for sure.

All three are rostered in my 12 team, but may not be in other leagues.

Slaton looked decent? If 116 yards on 18 carries (6.4 ypc) and a touch is how you define decent, you must have had LT and Priest on your fantasy teams for the last six years or so.

Unfortunately we won't hear anything about the QB situation in New England, especially with their bye week coming up, but it's possible that Cassell isn't the guy for the rest of the season. Not sure if that means OConnell or Gutierrez or someone from left field like Simms or Culpepper, but it's something to keep an eye on.

I'm not sure any of them will be worth picking up.

Haha, that was just the word I used. I assume he looked very good, but didn't get to see the game. I hate coming on here and saying, "This guy is GREAT! or This guy is AWFUL!" after one week. How did he look? Is he the starter from here on out? Is he a homerun threat? I don't know much about him other than what I read on here.

He looked fantastic today against a stout Tennessee defense. He was the lone bright spot on offense for the Texans. He's the best running back I've seen in a Texans uni since Domanick Davis er Williams.

I think he was stuffed on some short yardage plays. I didn't see the game but followed on NFL.COM.

I'm very happy owning him in 2 leagues, but I think the other guy was saying that he could have done even better with his chances today.

Buckhalter or R.Johnson

Both good WW pick ups. C. Buck could be huge if Westy is out for a few weeks.

Don't know which one is a better pick up until you know how long Westy is out.

QB Sage Rosenfels

Here are Schaub's season stats: 42-70 for 390 yds, 1 TD and 5 INT for a 50.3 QB rating. Oh, the Texans are 0-3. With the way Sage played last year, I think it's just a matter of time.

Jerramy Stevens. May be able to get a couple sem-productive games out of him until his next inevitable suspension.

(What was this two game suspension he just served for anyway?)

Not that any sharks would fail to notice, but Slaton did that against the best defense in the NFL. Just sayin' ('cuz there ain't much else to say about my Texans today).

Good stuff. Certainly could be coming. And when you think that Sage threw 15 TDs in 5 games, you have to like the upside as a potential waiver QB.

I always liked Sage. Seems like he's never been giving a good shot to win a starting job on a decent team.

McClain.

Ya never know. Yeah, he's too big to be a RB. But then... Brandon Jacobs...

Ya never know. Probably just a couple week rental and dump. But if you've got a couple of roster spots with which to experiment...

Maybe trading Schaub away wasn't such a bad idea after all...

Quick side note for the McClain fans... Seemed to me watching that game that the only reason they replaces McGahee on at least one of those TDs (if not both) was because his right eye was injured and gushing blood. I got the impression that he would've stayed in there and had a multi-TD game if not for that, so I'm tempering my enthusiasm on McClain's role as a TD vulture in coming weeks with a healthy McGahee back on board.

I be think'in Robert Meachem will be a cheap WW addition this week.

Colston and now Shockey are out and Patten hurting.

Besides throwing to Bush, Meachem should get some good looks in the weeks to come.

My .02

As had been anticipated earlier in the week, the National Football League formally announced on Thursday that Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Jerramy Stevens has been suspended for two games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Jerramy Stevens is expected to be suspended for the first two games of the 2008 regular season as punishment for a DUI arrest and conviction during the 2007 season.

The guy used to drop balls in SEA also but they keep goin to him. First Holmgren, now Gruden.

Colston is out, Shockey is out and Patten is gimpy.

Someone's going to have to catch the ball besides Reggie Bush.

How are you guys valuing Lloyd and Bryant? I have no idea what they are worth, or who should be better the rest of the year. Which do you guys like, and why???
