Week 4 waiver wire pickups (1 Viewer)

Is Josh Gordon fools gold, if still available or attainable in a trade, or the real deal?
He's a stud. If for some reason he's available he should be your #1 WW priority easy.

Definitely for real.
I think Cleveland discovered who the real deal on that football team is earlier today.

Cecil Shorts, Sidney Rice, Kenny Britt and Ahmad Bradshaw were all dropped in my 12-team league. Thinking of targeting Shorts but I'm concerned about the return of Justin Blackmon.

Shorts is king of the rubbish time yards. I expect they'll be in that mode a lot. Blackmon will only just draw the #1 CB on the other team off of him

If the KC DST is available, I'd suggest them as a pickup. Seem to be more then just a streaming option this season. Considered picking em up for this week but was worried about the matchup vs PHI
I've been hanging on to my #1 waiver wire pick since week one. Rent- a defense has sucked for me so I will be grabbing the Cheifs

The khiry Robinson post is intriguing. Anyone deer how he looked in limited action today? His stats looked great, but I wondered if he passed the eye ball test
He looks very quick, breaks tackles , good vision good burst of speed , I swear he is probably the most natural looking ball carrier on the current roster. He probably has a lot to learn as far as blocking or screen plays and such but the kid runs very hard and wont be denied. He is what we had hoped Ingram would have been. Ingram is done IMO as a Saint after this kid showed what he did.

Yeah i guess the problem is he might not be involved at all in the passing game, which would make him pretty uninteresting in PPR leagues, when combined with the fact that this is such a pass heavy team. Having said that, if Ingram gets traded, he should be worth picking up regardless.

Ahmad Bradshaw got dropped last week in one of my leagues. Would he be a decent flex in the near future?

Pead

Assuming Richardson out for Thursday game (and Willis and Aldon Smith out for SF), might even be startable flex in PPR. (Rams primary RB has yet to catch less than 5 balls in a game this year). Might lack upside, but their primary has yet to score less than 13 PPG either.

It should definitely be noted that Cunningham saw most (if not all) the 1st quarter action at RB after Richardson left.

I didn't see Pead on the field until the 2nd quarter (and after they were down 17-0) so the disparity in snap counts may be a bit misleading.

I think the Rams RB production has been a bit underrated in PPR. Bradford is targetting whomever is back there a ton.

Shorts among them for sure, then Bradshaw.

I don't know if it's common knowledge or not but the Bills were missing their top 3 CB's so I'd proceed the Jets WR's with caution. Holmes might be worth a look depending on who is available.

I know it's a long shot for redraft, but maybe a flier on Justin Hunter if he's going to take Britt's snaps now?
In my opinion Nate Washington is the Tennessee WR to own going forward. Hunter might be a great lotto ticket stash in deep leagues now.

Indy D (Gabbert time) or KC D if available, Justin Hunter, Brandon Bolden, Chris Givens may have been dropped in some leagues

Was just going to say... Cunningham could throw a wrench in that pickup.

Trying to justify either one as a Richardson owner. Thankfully, I have another day to decide. Definitely intriguing.

What about Harris, I think that is his name, the receiver for Dallas, Austin's injury is said to be serious. Who is inline to start in Austin's spot if I am wrong on the name.

Just came here to post this.
meh. i dropped him after week 1.this is a one week anomoly imo.

i am keeping nate washington who i dropped lafell for over him.

washington is not very sexy but is a great bye week fill in guy who will typically get around 8 points every week in ppr with some random upside for a td on top of that or lots of targets like last weekend.

Dwayne Harris but he is actually the #4 WR on the depth chart behind rookie Dez, Austin, Terrance Williams.

Re gordon - if he was actually available, i wouldn't talk anyone off him, but bear in mind the 19 tgts -, the league leaders will average half that

Terrance Williams, a rookie, has been the 3rd WR, and has been playing outside with Austin in the slot in 3-WR sets.

But he's raw, as his week 1 will attest. Didn't notice any errors from him week 2, and haven't seen his week 3.

Dwayne Harris is better in the slot, so I'd think they'd use Williams in 2 WR sets, and Harris in 3. But it's an open question as to whether they think Williams can handle a starting role. I imagine a platoon is imminent.

Nobody...

,,,maybe Stephen Hill, NYJ
Why does everybody like him over Santonio?
Any Jets homers have clarity on this situation?
Hill is still pretty raw, though he had made strides this year. Among other issues he is prone to drops.

Reputation wise, Holmes is said to have the softest hands in the team. Would be interested to know if statistically he has the fewest drops.

I think in FF we tend to over value upside and downplay past production. Holmes is going to have a floor (assuming health) of around 65-875-5. Not real sexy, but IMO he'll end up leading the team in rec and yards.

Hill's floor is considerably lower. I think his breakout is still a year away, though obviously he is a playmaker and will have some gigs to great weeks. I just don't see his route tree developed to a point where he will be consistent.

YMMV

WR - LaFell CAR, Hill NYJ, WR Thompkins NEP (dropped in half of my redraft leagues)

RB - J Franklin GBP

QB -A Smith KCC

DEF - CAR, DAL

any value in picking up Willis Mcgahee?
I say YES, if you are trying to find a viable RB. Although the production was not there for him, he signed 3-4 days before the game and led the team in carries. Can you imagine what it will be like once he's acclimated? Also, CLE had their most productive game yet, which shows they are not dead in the water.

McGahee is a pretty low upside 'meh' option imo. I wouldn't bother unless I was amazingly desperate at RB. Even then, I'd rather own guys like Ellington or Bolden.

Denarius Moore, WR, OAK His goose egg in wk 2 is scary, but production is there the other two weeks. Now the biggest factor is...he's playing the Redskins this week, who have given up more yards then anyone ever has in the first 3 games.

I disagree, although I can understand the logic. I think a main RB that will get double digit carries proves to be more worthy than flash single digit back. I will concede that Willie is far from being a sexy pick up though.

Moore is talented, but inconsistent, and I do not have much faith in Pryor, but I agree he has a nice matchup this week. Additionally, both of Pryor's TD passes this season have gone to Moore (and 3 of his 4 career passing TDs), and he targeted Moore at least two other times in the endzone last night.

I disagree. When he gets more practice he will lead the Browns in carries and they have shown they aren't completely inept on offense.

Does moores outlook this week change much if flynn starts? Trying to decide if moore or golden tate is the best wr pickup in my league. The nyj wrs are also there but I would rather not have any Jets on my squaf

PPR

Woodhead or Bolden pickup?
I am bullish on Bolden, but Woodhead is the better pickup.

Why do you feel that way towards Mr. Bolden, sir?
Yeah me too would like to hear that.

Remember that it was Bolden first week of action and he was the starting RB on the first play for the Pats. Thats says alot for me.

Bolden will do exactly what Vereen was doing before he got hurt.

Mcgahee has done very little fantasywise over his career except when he lined up next to Peyton Manning. Pass.

I think Bolden has a chance to eventually emerge as the starting back for NE, even, and he showed this week he can play the part of the receiving back, so I am excited about him going forward. I picked him up last week, and I could not be happier. All of that said, I don't know that you can count on Bolden yet for weekly production.

Woodhead is probably the safer, more conservative pick. He looks like he will be heavily involved in the SD passing game on a weekly basis, but he is a role player. Woodhead will rarely net you a TD, isn't used much in the running game, and he is not likely to threaten Mathews' job.

I still like Moore this week, regardless of who is pitching him the rock. Pryor has shown a preference for Moore, and it is yet to be seen if Flynn will do the same, but I am not as down on Flynn as others. As I say though, Moore has been inconsistent. He has a flair for the dramatic, makes the spectacular catch, then disappears.
