Week 4 who should I start thread **OFFICIAL** (2 Viewers)

Cameron Brate or Zach Ertz

PPR Start 1 TE
I know people are higher on Brats with Gronk out but I don't see it. Sure he stands to gain but I think that target share goes to Evans, Godwin & Brown.

Goedert is overrated imo. I go with Ertz.

I need to start 3 of these 4 IDP options.

Perelman, Singleton, Rapp &  Kendall Fuller.

Normally an easy call, the matchups have me second guessing bit. I have 1 LB & 1 DB set. So I’ll need 1 LB, 1 DFlex, 1 DB.

Singleton is my biggest concern,. if KC airs it out all game, linebackers can be disappointing in tackle heavy leagues.

TIA

I am flip flopping back and forth:

Ive started Russel Wilson all year but have Hurts on the bench doing almost as well.

6 pts per td no penalty for turnovers.

Russ @ SF  giving up 22nd  most points to QB this year

Hurts at home vs KC  giving up 27th most points to QB this year.

I make it a point to try and answer all questions in this thread.

That's all I got.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it.

Hurts is very tempting here. Russell isn't rushing much anymore, and most leagues reward more per yard rushing than passing.

Good matchup for both and I like Russell to come up big in a big game, but I still lean Hurts because of his rushing ability.

Hurts seems likely to have a big game against KC, but SF secondary is a mess.

If I felt like I needed a risk/reward with a huge ceiling I’d start Hurts.

if I were pretty evenly matched against my opponent I’d feel safer with Russ. He’s gonna cook against SF. They can’t stop anyone & Lockett / Metcalf are way better than average.

IDP specialist to the red courtesy phone please.  This one is above my pay grade too.

Miles Sanders or Zack Moss non ppr.
Non-ppr? I kinda like Moss here. Sanders is definitely the lead back on his team but we don't quite know what that means yet.

At the very least Moss is a big part of closing games, or taking over in blowouts. Any Given Sunday thinking of course applies but Buffalo has a blowout opportunity. Without PPR Miles facing being blown out doesn't seem to provide the same theoretical opportunity.

I hate chasing TDs but it's tough to bench Moss, even in a legit timeshare for Sanders in this specific matchup of matchups.

I had a long answer typed out for this, but I nuked my own reasoning. Heinicke was who I was going to say to go with, but Rivera this week was talking about how he wanted him to play within himself and manage the game better. Uh oh.

What was an easy decision if Mitchell played, I think I’m now faced with either Aiyuk or Sermon in the flex.

My head says Aiyuk and let this Sermon situation play out on my bench. But I’ll be honest, I drafted Sermon thinking I’d be able to start him weekly if the guy (Mostert) went down in front of him… and here I am.

ATL has the worst pass defense, so Heineken is tempting but he’s likely to be a bit less consistent & more prone to error. I haven’t seen enough to really trust him yet, and I doubt he has 70+% completions.

I feel like Ryan is due for a breakout game. WAS isn’t the greatest of secondaries either but they should have a good pass rush.

Dallas / CAR should be a shootout, but it’s hard to trust Darnold, especially not knowing what Chubba will be able to do.

For me it’s between Darnond & Ryan. Start the dude you’d most enjoy watching the game. That’s probably Darnold as ATL/WAS is kind of a cruddy game on paper.

Of course now you’re armed with the knowledge that Sermon isn’t quite ready for prime time.

Still - Aiyuk hasn’t exactly endeared himself to FF managers either this year.

I’d probably roll the dice with Sermon. They’re both iffy plays, but the Niners are down to Sermon & (checks notes) not a whole lot else. Should be a volume play, if nothing else?

Tom Kislingbury, who is a big-time IDP guy and defensive film grinder on Twitter, gives Washington one of the bottom six grades for their defense, which is almost inconceivable considering what they came into the year expected to do, which is to finish as a top six defense.

I'd be worried that their talent catches up and they tee off on Ryan this week.

That's not to contradict you. That's just fully fleshing out any reasoning I might give to someone as advice.

No worries, I agree with you.

I find it bizarre how poorly WAS’s defense has played & agree theyre due to bounce back. I hope it’s not this week since I have Ridley, but that’s partly why I said “should” & why I recommended Darnold as the start for @JoeSteeler
:hifive:

PPR:

Hines, Moss, or Javonte Williams in a flex spot.
Wow this one is interesting.

There isn't a clear answer for me here.

I think I like Hines because 5+ targets/game & Quentin Nelson being on IR hurts Taylor more than Hines. But Indy worries me a ton. Is this team collapsing?

Melvin Gordon is banged up, Javonte may get more opportunities. Baltimore is a very tough matchup, is Denver as good as they looked beating 3 teams who are 0-7?

Moss has the easiest path to the end zone in what looks like a big blowout on paper. But the games aren't played on paper.

Hines>Moss>Javonte but this is going to flip flop probably dozen times before kickoff.

Waddle is getting the opportunities, his your with Brisset is concerning but he getting the looks.

Aiyuk is going to have a big game at some point, until then he is such a question mark.

I don't see how you can bench Harris. The team is terrible, the line is terrible, Ben looks terrible, the matchup looks terrible, Najee looks terrible. BUT 23 touches/game, he is the offense. Claypool being out only helps.

With Elijah out I like Sermon's path to touches more than Sanders even if everything else about Sanders is superior.

Touches vs Talent?

Waddle, Najee &.. probably Sanders.

Need some help with a WR spot in a non ppr. Best option between Kirk, Rondale Moore, Cordarrelle(Counts as a wr on MFL). Thanks for any insight

Deoends on how much you want that bonus. If it's really important I like Heinicke. He's accurate and will likely throw both the fewest passes and the at highest % routes.

Ryan is you are going for yards & TDs. I just think he & Ridley are that offense.

Just wanted to say kudos to Chaka for starting and doing this thread this week. Definitely something I'll be reading before 1 EST.

Patterson has the clearest path to relevance IMO. He has been playing very well and he seems to have a defined role. I like him even more in non-ppr as he has the clearest path to scoring a TD imo

Ari v Rams should be a barn burner and one of Moore or Kirk should outperform Patterson (maybe both) but good luck figuring out which one any given week.
