So I'm scooping up Odell Beckham Jr. everywhere I possibly can as a stash and I'm here to tell you a little bit why you should do that too!
Besides Cruz, the Giant's WRs have been disappointing to say the least, and Eli Manning has been working on the side with OBJ to get timings and familiarity, since he's been injured with the hammy. There's production to be had in this offense and could easily be Manning's favorite target, b/c we know he isn't afraid to let his WR's make plays in traffic and compete for contested passes if he trusts them (think about Nicks when he didn't suck and the short time they had Plaxico Burress) He's got some ridiculous measurables from the combine as well, showing off his elite athleticism at the position by placing top 10 in every category except Bench Press reps: he 5'11 yet had the #9 best Vertical Jump at the Combine (0.5 inch under #8 Allen Robinson) #6 3-Cone with a 6.69 #3 20-yd shuttle with a 3.94 #3 60-yd shuttle with a 10.93, but what really makes him special as a WR is his ridiculously huge hands at 10" so he just plucks balls out of the air and is a beast in traffic/making contested catches so he won't disappear in the redzone like a lot of smaller WRs do. And last but not least he is a really damn fun player to watch so you will enjoy owning him on your fantasy roster's, I (sort of) promise!
Pick this guy up while you still can if you are looking for an upside WR stash to grab before this weekends games.
And for Dynasty folks this is probably the last chance you will have to buy low on OBJ because once he gets playing time it won't be long before he blows up if it's not this very 1st game. So shoot over some offers to the OBJ owner and you might get lucky and snag him up for a cheap price if the owner is tired of waiting for him to get back. Always worth a try, I say.
Good luck and happy waiver-wiring folks!
