The way Buffalo got stampeded by Miami and with Harrison running pretty well on CIN makes me inclined to leave them on waivers.Buffalo at home against CLE might be good.
I picked up Miami last week against Buffalo and they came through big. Probably a good play against the Jets, but Miami did NOTHING the first three weeks. I am not quite sold on Cleveland's offensive turn around, so Buffalo may be the play. Here are some of the main WW Defenses that will be available for Week 5MIA vs NYJBUF vs CLEJAX @ SEAWAS vs CARI'm leaning towards MIA on Monday Night
Buffalo was missing 3 out of their starting 4 DB's yesterday - not sure how many will be coming back next week.If those guys are out again DA is going to be slinging it all day.Right now I'm leaning towards JAX.I picked up Miami last week against Buffalo and they came through big. Houston doesn't play Oakland in week 5. Oakland travels to NY.Texans are available in our league....against Oakland that makes them a lock for a solid performance.
I am too.I had picked up Denver for week 3, which worked out swell, but I dropped them for the 49ers at home vs. the Rams because I thought I'd get some additional mileage by using them vs. a so-so Atlanta offense again in week 5 (this was the tie breaker between the SF D and Cinci D, and I am glad it worked out that way).I am going with SF again... I picked them up this week because of my theory of picking up the best D playing at home vs a bottom 10 offense... it had me with the #2 defense in my league prior to today and SF def jumped me into the #1 spotAtlanta has scored just under 20 points per game and they are traveling all the way out West... I don't see any other home WW defenses that I like much better than that
I'd prefer to start CLE D.Buffalo at home against CLE might be good.

I see also avail:IND @TEN ...not sure this is that good a matchupSF v ATL ...although they'll probably get picked up Tuesday off Waivers after their performance SundayBUF vs. CLE: BUF pass D has been good, but the run D has been shredded. Plus McKelvin is on IR (Special Teams points)...WAS is @CAR...don't like that at all with CAR coming off BYE and WAS not able to score.BUF's offense won't put other teams in catchup mode, but could be ok.JAX @SEA...Seneca was not making alot of errors (no INT?) and has alot of WR all of a sudden, plus SEA at home.Thinking MIA might be the best of this bunch, although I might consider SF if they aren't taken off Waivers. Here are some of the main WW Defenses that will be available for Week 5MIA vs NYJBUF vs CLEJAX @ SEAWAS vs CARI'm leaning towards MIA on Monday Night
Are you guys holding 9ers D? I also have Phi D and figured its time to cut bait on 9-ers as Celek is out there and Gates is on bye?You guys see 9-ers being same level as Eagles here on?Picked up the 49ers last week and that was awesome. Now i'm considering holding them for the home game against Atlanta, or picking up the Eagles for their home game vs. TB. win-win?
Not on many waiver wires, although some owners dropped them a couple weeks ago.How about Dallas @ KC?
If Eli's injury is serious, Denver could continue to produce. I'd hold for now.

I would probably play Eagles D, but both will be solid... Eagles aren't on my WW so I didn't analyze furtherAre you guys holding 9ers D? STL is at home against the Vikings... Not going to be available. Is St. Louis on bye? if not, play whoever they're playing.
They're on my waiver wire, so I may give them a shot. Also looking at Miami and Arizona (hosting the Texans and AZ just had a bye).UnknownCoach said:Not on many waiver wires, although some owners dropped them a couple weeks ago.How about Dallas @ KC?
Anyone else starting the NE def this week? (I've only got 1) I don't trust the bills after last week - even against cleveland, and I think Orton & co are ripe for a meltdown.I like 49ers this week. And you should hold them for the playoffs. I think they play the Rams week 14 or 15 (too lazy to check)
Actually, don't think their playoffs are too good. I know the Eagles are in there.I like 49ers this week. And you should hold them for the playoffs. I think they play the Rams week 14 or 15 (too lazy to check)

Like many others I now find myself with PHI and SF and a shallow bench that really can't allow me to carry 2 defenses. I don't think anyone is going to give me anything in trade for either of them but I'm going to try.I couldn't agree more. I think if Mendenhall starts over Parker, Miami might be worth a pickup. If Eli's injury is serious, Denver could continue to produce. I'd hold for now.

Was going with the DTBC pairing, but had to drop ARI after week 1 (picked up by someone else). Seems DAL and GB pair up nicely for most of the remainder of the season:WK 5: DAL @ KCWK 6: GB vs. DETWK 7: GB @ CLEWK 8: DAL vs SEAWK 9: GB @ TBWK 10: DAL @ GB (see who's playing better at the time)WK 11: GB vs SF (DAL vs. WAS, but NFC East games always a toss up)WK 12: DAL vs OAK (GB @ DET not bad either)Weeks 13-15 are tough, but may be able to plan ahead based on roster. So, with all this, is DAL viable or is there a reason they are not mentioned much in this thread based upon the postings above? Run D is solid; pass D is questionable, but, in their matchups, outside of SEA, would not seem to be as much of an issue.they were on mine and were snatched up by meNot on many waiver wires, although some owners dropped them a couple weeks ago.How about Dallas @ KC?
I'm leaning toward Carolina at home coming out of a BYE week vs Washington. Washington hasn't scored more than 17 points all season and this could well turn into a low scoring defensive battle(because the offenses stink). In leagues like my main that give points for yards allowed and points Carolina is a strong play for a WW defense.
They have WASH, TB, BUF @ home next 3 weeks for those who play matchups all year.I'm leaning toward Carolina at home coming out of a BYE week vs Washington. I don't think Carolina's offense stinks. They have underachieved, but against the Cowboys I blame the playcalling for that. In the Falcons game, it was more the Panthers D that stunk it up. Game 1 against Philly, Jake stunk it up. I think (hope) the Panthers will come back from their bye with a chip on their shoulder. They are better than what they have shown. Their D has had a lot of injuries, but they recently signed Hollis Thomas to help stuff the run. They are hoping Safety Chris Harris and LB Na'il Diggs will be back for the game this weekend. If so, I think they are a good play against the Skins.I'm leaning toward Carolina at home coming out of a BYE week vs Washington. I actually like Carolina vs. Washington. Hear me out. Washington has not scored more than 17 pts in a game this year. Jason Campbell had 4 turnovers last week. The Panthers had a very tough schedule in the first 3 games, while the Redskins are the worst 2-2 game of all time, barely beating the Rams and Bucs at home. The Panthers are desperate for their first win and our coming off a bye. I smell a Panther victory - Jim Zorn is already under fire and Clinton Portis blew up at Mike Sellers..Here are some of the main WW Defenses that will be available for Week 5MIA vs NYJBUF vs CLEJAX @ SEAWAS vs CARI'm leaning towards MIA on Monday Night
PLUS Panthers get Tampa Bay next week and Buffalo in Week 7I'd take a shot with CAR coming off a bye, at home, and pissed about 0-3. Campbell has been a turnover machine lately so that helps.
