Is Damian Williams a better pickup over Hawkins? Who starts and sees more snaps?
I meant, Good Call!I meant Baldwin.'Das Boot said:Obomanu maybe.![]()
TEBOW TEBOWHester . . .
Orton's 34 yards passing for the game +Int may have influenced his decision a little today.John Fox is such a damn liar. I'm so pissed right now. I didn't pick him up this week because of his stupid commnts about sticking with Orton. What a putz!
they have a bye next weekIf Mathews and Tolbert are out next week, who is the 3rd RB? They wouldn't start Hester at TB would they?
orton was horrid and very deserving of the bench. fox did not lie about anything.John Fox is such a damn liar. I'm so pissed right now. I didn't pick him up this week because of his stupid commnts about sticking with Orton. What a putz!
It will be interesting to see if Carter or D. Brown is the better pickup. I would appreciate hearing from people who saw the game as it looks like Brown had a better day.I like Delone Carter. I also like Curtis Painter. Not a WW guy but I think a great guy to target is Brandon Lloyd. He was super close on two long ones that would have both made sports center. Just something to stick in your back pocket in case you get a disheartened owner.
Not with Tebow at QBI like Delone Carter. I also like Curtis Painter. Not a WW guy but I think a great guy to target is Brandon Lloyd. He was super close on two long ones that would have both made sports center. Just something to stick in your back pocket in case you get a disheartened owner.
Damian Williams will get next week, his bye week, to build even more rapport with his QB in practice. That can't be a bad thing for a guy that just got the starting job.Who to go with for WR this week? Doug Baldwin, DHB, Damian Williams?
Would you believe he was dropped in my league yesterday? I guess the owner bought the Ridley hype hook, lie, and sinker. Now I just have to figure out how many waiver bucks to throw at him.Law Firmteehee
Decent playoff matchups too for those looking ahead.'bumpman said:Alex Smith. I can't believe I just said that.
Yes, with Tebow at QB. That would be the whole reason he's a buy low or maybe even waiver wire material.'djmich said:Not with Tebow at QB'Sabertooth said:I like Delone Carter. He's a better blocker than Beckum so that puts him on the field more and he's been making plays deep. Giant TEs don't normally catch a lot of passes but Ballard will probably be the main guy since Beckum can't block and has trouble catching the ball.'Papa Georgio said:Anything to see with Jake Ballard TE, NYG?
Oh my, they couldn't do THAT, could they? I mean, tubby Tolbert was a blocking FB at powerhouse Coastal Carolina, who never carried the ball in college, while Hester was only the starting running back for national champion LSU. Can you explain why the Chargers chose to convert a slow, plodding blocking FB from a D-III college into a tailback, while forcing the starting tailback for an NCAA college champion to move to FB and block for him? Hester is much faster than Tolbert and would obviously be a much better NFL running back.'footballguy#1 said:If Mathews and Tolbert are out next week, who is the 3rd RB? They have a bye next week, someone already pointed that so one if not both will likely be back. Not sure where you were going with the Hester thing. I couldn't tell if you were mad they moved him to fullback?Oh my, they couldn't do THAT, could they? Not sure how you can argue with the results. Tolbert has been a solid 2nd RB for them and has shown enough wiggle in the run game.He showed that he could break big plays with the ball in his hand while in Coastal Carolina and his first few years in the league while catching passes at FB.I don't have Hester on any of my fantasy teams- clearly he doesn't get enough touches. Thus, I'm not "mad" because of that. It just irks me, knowing both their backgrounds, to see a physically fit RB like Hester being forced to block for a chubby, slow FB like Tolbert. It just defies common sense.
Obviously, in a sane world their roles would be reversed.
2006: Played in 11 games, getting the start in six of them... Had 70 carries for 439 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground while adding 14 catches for 187 receiving yards and one score... Posted a career-high 151 yards of rushing and two touchdowns on just eight carries along with two receptions for 32 yards in the win at VMI... Had a career-best and Coastal record 80-yard touchdown run against the Keydets... Also had a 70-yard touchdown run against Liberty... Scored a career-high three touchdowns on 12 carries for 77 yards in the televised win at Gardner-Webb... Caught a career-high three passes for 61 yards, including a career-best 45-yard reception, in the NCAA Playoff game at Appalachian State... Had his first career touchdown catch of 36 yards in the win at Winston-Salem State...
Also, his 40 yd dash time was in the 4.6-4.7 range which isn't 'slow plodding FB' range rather just mediocre RB speed. Mark Ingram ran a 4.62 and was a 1st round pick??Tolbert had a four-year career at Coastal Carolina University and was named a second-team FCS All-American after leading the Chants in rushing with 748 yards on 111 carries and 9 touchdowns. In four years he had 303 touches without any fumbles.
This is why I picked him up last week before he had his breakout game. He should be a pretty decent RB3 the rest of the wayGet ready to blow your remaining budgets on Jackie Battle.
Eligible to return week 7 vs. Dallas...Seems like I read that with Clayton being on PUP list, he'll be eligible to play at week 8.
Cowboys Stadium set as relaunch site for Rams receiver Clayton

Mark Clayton can't wait for the St. Louis Rams' Oct. 23 game at Cowboys Stadium. Not only is it a return home for the Arlington Sam Houston product, but if all goes as planned, the Rams receiver will return to the field.
Clayton has not played since Oct. 10, 2010, when he tore the patellar tendon in his right knee during a game against the Detroit Lions. He is on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.
"So far, so good," Clayton said in a phone interview last week. "I'm excited about the progress and definitely excited about where I'm at right now, just knowing I have a few more weeks to build on where I am. It's looking good."
There was a time, shortly after surgery, that Clayton figured his career was finished at only 28 years old and after only six seasons. The pain he felt, as much as the thought of an end to his career, brought Clayton to tears.
"When I injured it, I felt nothing because it severed the nerves and all that stuff," said Clayton, who turned 29 over the summer. "It was the first or second day after surgery, I felt everything, and I felt like I was about to have a heart attack. I thought it literally was going to be over. I cried to my wife, who was there to hold my hand."
Clayton, a former first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens, had gotten a new lease on his career last year when the Rams traded for him. He quickly became Sam Bradford's favorite target and was among the NFC leaders with 23 receptions for 306 yards and two touchdowns when he was injured.
It is that connection with Bradford, plus a connection with St. Louis, that prompted the former Oklahoma star receiver to take a reduced salary to return to the Rams. He makes $29,412 every week he is on PUP and $58,824 every week he is on the active roster. With incentives, Clayton can make a maximum of $1.19 million.
Clayton has taken solace in watching Cadillac Williams rebound from the same injury, and Clayton rehabbed with Dallas Mavericks forward Caron Butler at a rehabilitation center in Dallas during the NFL lockout. Butler ruptured the patellar tendon in his right knee on New Year's Day.
"It has been the hardest thing I've gone through. I mean, besides marriage," Clayton said, laughing. "It was non-weight bearing in the beginning, so to start from scratch was de-motivating. But having people around me encouraging me, and to see somebody who actually went through it let me see that it's possible with time. Looking back at it, yeah, it didn't look like it was going to come around. But it did come around."
Clayton is running and working out, trying to improve his conditioning. He is certain he will be back to the same player he was last season.
"No doubts," Clayton said.
Arlington is where he started his career. Now, Arlington is where he hopes to restart it.
"I went to the Super Bowl," Clayton said. "It is an amazing stadium. I'm looking forward to playing in it."
