Week 8 2025 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (6 Viewers)

This is where we ask questions and offer help.

Thank you to all the posters who come here to offer that help.

A couple notes:

I attempt to give well considered responses to all questions posted. I can't get to everything, but I'll try.

1) This only works if people participate. If you ask for help it is good form to offer help to someone else.

2) Please post the matchup. e.g. Penix vs Den or James Cook @ Mia (a lot of you are missing this one. We don't necessarily have all the matchups memorized, please don't make us do your legwork. TIA)

3) Please post important league scoring considerations (e.g. PPR, super-flex etc).

4) Please go easy on the nicknames, save that for other threads. We can't help if we don't know who you are talking about.

5) NEW REQUEST: Please remember that if you come here asking advice, it is greatly appreciated if you offer advice to others. TIA

View this as an exercise to help focus your thoughts about teams in general. Players you own may not be involved in these WDIS questions but certainly you will own players on many of these teams. Analyzing other players will help you identify things you may have otherwise not considered.

(Joe Edit: When you ask, please let us know which way you're leaning. And more importantly, why. What do you see as the pros and cons. Most people will be much more likely to help if they feel like you've put in a little work on this as well.)

Let's move on to week 8

@Joe Bryant @FBG Moderator

Can we get this pinned please?

I'll start.

Got a rough bye week.

PPR I need three flex players

Hollywood v WAS
Monangai @ BAL
Kyle Pitts v MIA
Chuba @ BUF

I have the first three in my lineup ATM. I also have Rico & D'Andre as my starting RBs.

Ok, a few of my top players are on a bye and the rest of my team are basically the same. Standard scoring non-ppr league:

Out of this big group, I need to play 1 RB's, 2 Wr's and 2 flex spots:

Chase Brown vs NYJ - Finally playable last week, but gave up snaps to Perine; Perine really?
Vidal vs MIN - Stuffed by IND and now against a tough MIN defense
Warren vs GB - Breakout game last week, but now against a tough GB defense; volume is there though
Deebo vs KC - Should play this week but most likely without Daniels and Scary Terry should be back
Johnston vs MIN - A TD saved his fantasy day last week but concerning he couldn't produce when Herbert threw for over 400 yards; many mouths to feed in LA
Higgins vs NYJ - Can now be played again with Flacco in the lineup
Olave vs TB - Volume has been there all year but finally broke out for 2 TD's which he needed since this is non-ppr

Like I said, I need 1 RB's, 2 WR's and 2 flex. As of now, I have:

I'm not a huge fan of playing both a RB and WR from the same team, but I have that with the Chargers and Bengals; Help please!

Next question is Ferguson or Kraft at TE.

Thanks in advance for all the help!!

SF pick one to pair with Bo Nix
Caleb in Baltimore
Rattler vs bucs
Flacco vs the jets

Caleb is currently in.

Same league, PPR
Bill JCM in KC
Pearsall in Houston (if healthy)

I'd use this rule: If L. Jackson starts, bench Monangai and go with Hubbard. If Lamar is out, go Monongai.

Super Flex league need two QBs;

Lamar v CHI (if he plays)
D.Jones v TEN
Bo Nix v DAL

Not sure who to sit.
Lamar a given if he plays. Could see him going scorched earth.

I'd play it like this. If I'm projected to win, I'd play it safe with D. Jones. Think he'll have a solid floor, but I could see J. Taylor going hog wild in a blowout. If projected to be an underdog, go Nix. I'd lean Nix if it's even.

PPR league. Need to make a decision to start or sit J. Mason prior to the Thursday game.

I have to play two of these 3 RBs:

* R. Dowdle vs BUF -- Now splitting with Hubbard. BUF run D is pretty horrid though. Only way they keep this game close is if they run for 200+.

* J. Mason @ LAC -- A. Jones eligible to return, but who knows how much he'll play if it all. LAC run D surprisingly, statistically soft. Think MN D and O can keep this close to give Mason touches.

* C. Brown vs NYJ -- This looks like another juicy matchup for Flacco and company. I'm already starting Higgins in the same game along with Flacco (superflex). Starting Brown as well would really load the boat. Not sure they'll need to run at all if Sauce is out (concussion).

Leaning Dowdle and Mason.

Which 2?

Thanks

Hollywood is boom or bust with Rice back
But with this group I'd play him this week
I like Pitts against Miami
And even with Rico I'd roll with Hubbard,I am in one league

So...Hollywod,Pitts and Hubbard

I like Rico and Chase

And a little more complicated one
FFPC scoring:
Need need TWO of the following:

R.Stevenson vs Cleve
K.Boutte vs Cleve
T.J. Hockenson @ LAC
E.Engram vs Dall
M.Brown vs Wash

PPR - Superflex - bonus points for rush/rec TDs of 40+ and 50+

RB:
Spears @ Indy
or
Monangai @ Bal

WR:
K. Coleman @ Car
or
M. Mims vs. Dallas

Also 0.5 PPR league:

Need a TE:
  • Henry vs. Browns
  • Fannin vs. Patriots
Need a FLEX:
  • Chase Brown vs. Jets
  • McLaurin vs. Chiefs (If healthy, on MNF)
  • Jauan Jennings vs. Texans

Yikes. I'd be stacking on stacks then in a superflex league with Flacco, C. Brown, and Higgins. Talk about pushing it all on black. I guess if you're going to do it, do it against the Jets.

Defense question:

* KC vs WASH -- Daniels already out. Deebo and McLaurin iffy but it was reported they will practice. M. Mariota is capable but could be playing from behind with KC's ears pinned back.

or

* ATL D vs MIA -- Miami would appear to be a trainwreck. ATL pass D seems for real while the run D is middle of the pack. Waller on IR now.

Both of these Ds have very similar stats.

Which?

Thanks

Very slight edge to Atlanta for me
But I think both will be very strong this week

TE Appreciation Week:

In 2024, TEs scored 15 plus TDs on TE Appreciation Day

Who gets the nod:

Pitts vs Miami
Gadsden vs Minny
Henry vs Cleveland
Otton @ NO - On WW but I will get him if needed

Don’t be shy as TE and Flex spots are open so choose 2

I am in the same predicament. I was for sure starting ATL Def before Daniels being ruled out. Now I keep wavering. Miami is a trainwreck, but they can run the ball and that is what scares me against Atlanta. I do like that Atlanta is home and coming off a loss, it seems that teams prepare a little better for the next week after losing compared to the blowout win by KC over LV. I like that KC is in primetime though too. I am still leaning Atlanta 65% to 35% as of today.

The one thing about ATL is that they are going to run the hell out of the ball against that D. Bet Penix hardly has to throw. Could chew up a lot of clock, etc. Could be a lower scoring game overall, but maybe stays close enough so Miami and Tua don't have to panic and throw stupid INTs.

KC is really starting to roll. They'll be motivated at home, in primetime. I could see them rolling and then up 28-10 or something Mariota does Mariota type stupid things.

I like Atlanta home cooking after a loss. Miami is broken. Atlanta is gunning for NFC South and on top of that they are hungry. Dolphins going thru the motions will be in a grinder by the second half. KC is a strong play but Washington w healthy WRs will probably put up some points. Its the MNF unknowns that cloud things.

Non PPR, standard scoring and JSN on his bye week:
Q Johnson vs Vikings on Thursday (I hate Thursday games as it seems I always get screwed on them)
M. Mims vs Cowboys (Sieve defense but he has been very sporadic)

I think if this was a Sunday game, I would go with Johnson but right now I don't know if I could pull the trigger.

NON-PPR - Need a TE and really a TD:

Hock @ Chargers on Thursday
Fannin @ Patriots
Patriots are giving up more receptions, yards and TD's to TE's than Chargers are, although it's not a big margin. Fannin would be my play here.
