Week 8 2025 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (21 Viewers)

non-ppr

Mayfield @ Saints
or
D.Jones vs Titans

also, need two from the following

Judkins @ Patriots
R.Dowdle vs Bills
Z.Flowers vs Bears
T.McMillan vs Bills
Mayfield because Bucky isn't back.

Mayfield>D.Jones
============{{{{{

I'm going to pretend you didn't ask if you should start Judkins.

If Lamar is back I might go Zay BUT it's not PPR so

Dowdle>Tet>Zay

Totally fat fingered that entire sentence!

Non-ppr standard scoring league. I've narrowed my decision down to the following. I need to start one of these 3 players:

Vidal vs MIN - Not a great matchup on paper but with Haskins out should get plenty of volume and GL
Johnston vs MIN - Chargers now have 4 viable receiving threats all wanted targets; it's a guessing game of who gets them week-to-week
Deebo vs KC - Looks like he will plan this week; Marriota now at QB and Scary Terry back in the mix may decrease his previous usage

Thanks in advance.
I hope you went with Vidal. I probably would have recommended QJ.

Thoughts on two WRs to pick? Standard non-PPR league

Pittman vs Ten
Allen vs Min
Addison vs Chargers
DJ Moore vs Bal

Leaning towards Pittman and Addison

Have McCaffery and Breece Hall starting in two RB spots and Chase Brown in Flex
Well, two options are going already. Of your remaining choices I go with Pittman pretty easily. The Colts should score a bunch so, Pittman should get plenty of opportunity.

Pittman>Moore

Need two WRs this week for std PPR league:
Stefon DIggs vs CLE - He's becoming a primary target for Maye, but CLE's DBs are pretty good. I think NE will win, but not sure he'll be a big scorer this week.
Tez Johnson @ NO - With Evans and Godwin out, I think Tez will see more playing time with Egbuka. He scored last week, and I think he has a good matchup to repeat.
Matthew Golden @ PIT - He's hot and cold - I don't know what to expect from him. I also think PIT's DEF plays a little dirtier than others, so I can see him not getting much.
Alec Pierce vs TEN - Deep ball specialist, but will that be needed vs TEN? I think this is another win by rushing game for IND.

Leaning towards Diggs and Johnson as the more consistent options. Am I off base here?
Diggs and Tez seem like the options here. TB is down Evans, Godwin & Bucky sonTez has opportunity and, as you say Diggs is the defacto #1 WR in NE.

The other options are big play dependent.

Diggs>Tez>coin flip

Need 2 RB in Half-PPR:
C Brown vs NYJ
Mason @ LAC tonight
J Warren vs GB
Rhamondre vs CLE

I am flip-flopping constantly, thanks for your input
I like Brown & Warren here. They're more versatile than Mason and have a better matchup than Rhamondre who, can also fumble away his opportunities any given game.

Brown>Warren>Rhamondre>Mason

Well, well... such developments!

AJ Brown might be kept out Sunday with the hammy. He could play, of course but… with the bye week 9 coming up for Philly, wisdom might dictate that they give him an additional week rest. So....

My unexpected query is:

Non-PPR...

Q. Johnston vs. MN
J. Addison @LAC

Thanks.
Sorry.

Probably would have gone Addison but, would wonder what your other options are on Sunday if AJ is a late scratch.

PPR league. Need a quick opinion before kickoff tonight:

* J. Mason at LAC -- Good matchup. LAC surprisingly mediocre against the run. However, A. Jones back so maybe he gets nothing in terms of receiving. If Wentz pulls another turnover act, gamescript could go south.

or

* C. Brown vs NYJ -- NYJ surprisingly good against the run and I think they are getting some LB reinforcements back. However, this is smelling like a Cinci blowout. Sauce is trending out hasn't practiced. Flacco should be able to throw to Chase and Higgins at will. Could open things up. Also, B. Hall has been limited. Could they hold him out if they intend on trading him? Just smelling a NYJs tank here on the road and maybe Brown has his breakout game.

Which?

Thanks
I would have gone Brown.

I went with Addison. Unfortunately, Carson Wentz looks like an old man out there. He's as agile as a slug. Gotta give Receivers time to get open. He's got like 2 — maybe 3 — targets in two and a half quarters.

Would anyone think I was crazy to be considering starting Flacco vs. NYJ over Jones vs. TN? 🤔

The Titans held Jones to a measely 15.82 points in Week 3.
I don't think it's crazy at all. Flacco can still sling it and he has great receivers.

But, the Titans didn't "hold" Jones to 15.82, they got thoroughly defeated and Jones didn't need to do much. I think the Colts will thoroughly defeat the Titans again and there will be plenty of opportunity for Jones to be the reason why.

Flacco>Jones
Jones does enough to win games — which is his job. But from a Fantasy perspective, under 20 points is being held down for a QB.

It's been the Jonathan Taylor Show in Indy lately. Jones isn't running the ball as much.

Need two WR and one Flex: PPR

Deebo @ KC
Pittman vs Ten
Worthy vs Wash
Diggs vs Clev
Kamara vs TB
IMO Pittman and Deebo are the WRs.

I think Worthy is a fine player but, he may be the Jameson in this offense going forward. Good luck predicting his big games and, his other games could hurt.

Kamara is your option for touches but, his production has been very disappointing.

Diggs has a tough matchup but, so does Deebo.

Pittman>Deebo>Diggs>Kamara>Worthy

There is a difference between being "held to" and "not needing to".

If the Colts are rolling that means they put up a lot of points. Jones is good for ~250 & 2 most every week with upside.

I like Flacco in Cincinnati plenty. I have no problem with starting him over D.Jones. Even if he comes up short, it probably won't be by much. However, if I were to bet which team was more likely to put up 40 points, I'd bet on the Colts and, I generally want my players on teams that score the most points.

I need 1 WR, 1 TE, and 1 Flex of the following:

Alec Pierce vs Tennessee
Jauan Jennings @ Houston
Kendrick Bourne @ Houston
George Kittle @ Houston
Harold Fannin Jr @ New England

I'm leaning toward leaving Bourne and Fannin on the bench and starting the others.

PPR league. Need a hail mary. J. Mason busted last night and I'm a serious upside. Looking for ceiling plays.

Need two:

* T. Franklin vs DAL -- Has shootout potential. Franklin seeing a lot of targets but not doing a hell of a lot with them.

* T. Pollard @Indy -- Probably shouldn't include him as an option although he did grab six passes last week. Indy could run all over this team and bleed the clock.

* A. Pierce vs TN -- If Downs/Dulin out he'd get more snaps. Think both have practiced though. Could get deep with D. Jones.

* J. Higgins/J. Noel vs SF -- Nico and Kirk most likely out. Noel plays in the slot so could get the most snaps.

* B. Smith vs. WASH -- If Hunt doesn't play, could get more run potentially in a blowout. Note: Already starting Pacheco. I'd be loading the boat on KC red.

Which two?

Thanks

PPR league. Need a TE fill in for McBride:

* Z. Ertz @KC -- Terrible matchup statistically. And didn't do well with Mariota previously this year.

* J. Johnson vs TB -- Came back to life last week. Rattler may be throwing trying to keep up with Baker.

* P. Friermuth vs GB -- Wont repeat last week, but GB is statistically poor against TEs. Nobody runs against them. Rodgers probably throwing against his old team.

* C. Loveland vs BALT -- Kmet trending out so his snaps would increase. He's do for his breakout game. Lot of mouths to feed though.

Which?

Thanks

Yeah, I would be hesitant to start three Niners too and I wouldn't want to bench Kittle. Benching Bourne makes sense of the three.

I guess the question is between Pierce & Fannin and, it's tough to figure out. If Njoku is out you may want to pivot to Fannin but, I think Pierce is a decent spec play too because the Colts should score a bunch.

Kittle>Jennings>Pierce>Fannin>Bourne

Non PPR, standard scoring and JSN on his bye week:
Q Johnson vs Vikings on Thursday (I hate Thursday games as it seems I always get screwed on them)
M. Mims vs Cowboys (Sieve defense but he has been very sporadic)

I think if this was a Sunday game, I would go with Johnson but right now I don't know if I could pull the trigger.
I would have gone with QJ regardless. I just think he's a bigger part of the Chargers offense.

But, too late, sorry.
I did but shouldn't have. Thursday games have always been bad for me. Oh well. Luckily, my opponent had Jordan Mason going so that helped even things out.

For upside, I would go with Pierce because he's a legitimate deep play guy.

Noel also has a ton of upside in a PPR format. Don't know if he has big TD upside but, he may see 10+ targets with Nico & Kirk out.

Franklin has some big target games but, he hasn't really done much with it.

Similar issue for Pollard. He's your floor play.

Noel>Pierce>Pollard>Franklin

I'd pass on Freirmuth because I just don't believe in what I saw last week.

I agree about Ertz and the matchup but, KC is playing lights out and the Washington defense is not good. Seven targets seems reasonable.

Rattler may be throwing a lot because the Saints can't run. They also don't score a lot. He's a PPR gamble.

Loveland has a great matchup (on paper) but... I just don't know what to expect any given week with Caleb. But, it does feel like a solid upside risk.

Ertz>Juwan>Loveland>Muth

But, it's razor thin.

Full PPR, start 2 of 4

Dalton Schultz vs SF
Ayomanor vs Indy
Jauan Jennings Vs HOU
Allgier vs MIA
In PPR I like Schultz with no Nico & Kirk.

After that it's a little tighter. If Pearsall is out I probably go with Jennings. If Pearsall plays I like Allgeier.

Don't like the Titans enough to risk it with Ayomanor

Schultz>Jennings/Allgeier>Ayomanor

PPR League - Appreciate all the help on weekly basis. This week its:

Golden @ Pit
or
Samuel @ KC

Thoughts anyone?
I like Deebo because I trust his usage more. Golden still feels like a big play dependent guy and Christian Watson is back this week (trust but verify) muddying the pass game even more.

Deebo>Golden

Caleb vs Ravens - with Lamar potentially back I don’t think Bears will be able to keep the same game script
or
Maye vs Browns - much tougher defense than the last 2 weeks
Maye is playing so well right now, I have a tough time benching him.

Caleb has a great matchup and, he had his best game against a similarly bad defense but in the Cowboys (who says Eberflus couldn't turn Caleb into a franchise QB?) but, I just don't trust him completely until he starts stringing together some strong performances.

Maye also runs a lot more than Caleb who, generally extends plays behind the line of scrimmage but rarely takes off down field.

Maye>Caleb

1 PPR (pick 1)
Rachaad White @ NO
Chase Brown vs Jets

And

1PPR (Pick 1)
Romeo Doubs @ Pitt
Khalil Shakir @ Carolina
Wan’Dale Robinson @ Philly

Thanks
No Sauce, no Garrett Wilson (trust but verify) I'm all over Chase here.

I also just think White isn't a feature guy. Chase may not be either but, I think the Bengals believe in him.

Brown>Rachaad
=========================

In PPR I'm having trouble talking myself off Wan'Dale. He's the #1 in New York and has 12 target upside. The matchup isn't tougher than last week either.

I can see an argument for Doubs but, with Watson back and, my general belief that the Packers offense is less inherently predictable, I don't love him.

Don't trust any Bills WR ATM.

Wan'Dale>Doubs>Khalil

Full PPR. Already got a nice 20 points out of McConkey and opponent has -2 from
Vikings defense.

McMillan vs Buffalo
or
Pickens @ Denver

Currently have McMillan in the spot but am debating swapping Pickens. I am also starting Denver defense if that matters.

Fairly close call
But I'll give a slight edge to Pickens this week

Two more:
FFPC scoring:

Need ONE of the following:
C.Hubbard vs Buff(starting Rico)
D.Mooney Vs Mia

And ONE of the following:
R.Stevenson vs Cleve
E.Engram vs Dall
