I meant it as an honor, and sort of did for the reason that every critic I knew in the nineties hated -- I mean, hated -- the Beach Boys, I loved them, and then all of the sudden they and their harmonies were the definition of indie pop. (Think Grizzly Bear, etc.)Except you are still in the middle of the ###### desert....I mean comparing Weezer to the Beach Boys! That's an insult to the Beach Boys IMO.I've yet to come all the way around on it, but Codex is incredible. How can someone not like King of Limbs? What a wonderful album.
Radiohead didn't stop making excellent music in 1997.
ETA: I think the Beatles/BB analogy works.
I forgot Weezer was still part of the conversation. I was calling Radiohead both the Beatles and Beach Boys of the post-classic era.Except you are still in the middle of the ###### desert....I mean comparing Weezer to the Beach Boys! That's an insult to the Beach Boys IMO.

I have both of these set to "never delete" on my DVR.For those who may not be familiar... Radiohead's "From The Basement" series are ####### phenomenal. Pretty much my go-to for late late night wind down videos...

I'm willing to bet they aren't sick of the money still coming in from it....Glen Frey said he hates playing Take it Easy and some other old ones. Maybe they are just sick of it.It got popular with the masses and not just their real fans. Therefore it must be trite. This is hilarious. Best song they ever did and they hate it.I heard Radiohead doesn't play Creep live anymore.
Lame.
I love a good unexpected cover song at a concert, so much fun. I get that's not what Radiohead is about.Song is just very far from where they are musically right now... would be fun to hear it but can understand why they don't play it. Creep hasn't been played since Feb of 1998.It got popular with the masses and not just their real fans. Therefore it must be trite. This is hilarious. They haven't played a cover song live since 2008.

Yeah certain bands have great signature covers (pearl jam's Rockin in the Free world, or Baba O Riley, for example)... others randomly throw in creative takes on tracks on occasion. I, too, would like to see Radiohead do a cover or two, but I am cool with them sticking to their own material.I love a good unexpected cover song at a concert, so much fun. I get that's not what Radiohead is about.Song is just very far from where they are musically right now... would be fun to hear it but can understand why they don't play it.

EvidenceRadiohead's cover of The Smiths - Headmaster Ritual is glorious, but we know The Smiths would never cover Radiohead
....and that's partially why Radiohead stopped playing covers... they'd surpassed all other bands in the known universe by the late 2000'sEvidenceRadiohead's cover of The Smiths - Headmaster Ritual is glorious, but we know The Smiths would never cover Radiohead
lets see who ends up in the rock n roll hall of fame and who doesn't.
FYPBlue Album and Pinkerton are staples of my childhood. Two, perfectly concocted contrived records, start to finish.
Blast away, but these two albums were as important to the 90s as London Calling was to the early 80s.
Good lord. RnR HOF is a joke.lets see who ends up in the rock n roll hall of fame and who doesn't.

funny, I was going to say the same about Radiohead.Apple Jack said:Weezer might be the most overrated band in the history of hyperbole.
