Weirdest Football Season Ever? (1 Viewer)

Is it just me, or between injuries, possible trades (Vincent Jackson), Lynch, and now Moss, Indy losing to Jacksonville, KC in general, that this has been the most exciting/weirdest start to a NFL and FF season ever? Just caught up on the moment or anyone else agree and want to add their thoughts?

It has been really odd, at least I've thought so both NFL and FF wise. Odd scores, great looking FF teams doing crappy, poor looking teams blowing up, and it seems like the NFL teams are beginning to change with some teams drafts finally starting to produce and other teams poor choices shining through. Mid seasons we will be able to better judge, but man, it has been nuts so far.

Throw in Ben Tate and Hardesty getting drafted fairly early in all rookie drafts (before either were injured), getting injured, and letting Foster/Hillis shine.

Three players flying out to go get Favre back, only for Favre to see all his WRs hurt... so they go get him Randy Moss, something GB wasn't able to do.

Revis holding out for big money, getting it... pulling up with a bad hammy as Randy Moss makes a casual (but spectacular) one handed catch... misses a couple games. Now gets to come back and see Randy Moss on Monday Night... again.

I am sure there are more stories...

It sorta makes sense with it being an uncapped year; not expected, but not that surprising either. The NFL right now has the feeling of Wall Street before the bubble bursts.

I think what we're seeing is something that happens every few years in the NFL where the teams that have been rebuilding begin to reach their goals (i.e. KC, NYJ, maybe even the Browns to that extent with their improved offensive line). With individual players you look at guys like Devone Bess in Miami, Nicks in NYG, and a guy like Roddy White who may be the premier WR for the next half decade. Went on a bit of a tangent there.

Three starting QBs benched in first three weeks. Two former first round picks at RB traded. Now the Moss trade. Pretty nuts alright.

The important thing to take away from all this is that my Bills are finally losing ALL their games instead of denying their incompetence and winning 6 or 7.

They had better not beat Jacksonville this weekend, either.

No, around week nine they will start giving Spiller carries and winning games.

not sure if its just me, but this has been one of the LEAST enjoyable starts of a FF season for me. Not all my teams are tanking either, I have 4 that are undefeated. But even still, something is just different this year. :lmao:

What I've had the most trouble with is predicting the performance of opposing defenses. It seems that teams will shut someone down one week and then get blown out the very next week. It's almost like you want to start your players against a team that just had a big win and bench all your players against a team that just had a humiliating loss.

Also have Ben Roethlisberger and Santonio Holmes coming back into the mix. Fantasy teams who rostered them through these suspensions are about to get a nice little charge (or excellent trade bait at the very least).

Bess - 22/242/1

He had a good game. That's what makes this year "weird".
