Welker - Questionable (1 Viewer)

This came down from Rotowire:

Welker missed Wednesday's Dolphins practice due to an unspecified leg injury, the Miami Herald reports.

Spin: Welker leads the team in receptions and receiving yards and has caught at least four passes in every game thus far, not to mention his return yardage. His superior route running and reliability have made him a favorite target of both Joey Harrington and Daunte Culpepper. If he's healthy, Welker should warrant some consideration in Week 7 against a shaky Packers secondary.

RotoWire | Wed, October 18

I know it's just Wes Welker, but in a league like mine where he gets points for returns, he's top 20 and a solid start each week (Start 3 WR). With another big bye week, he may get lots of consideration from fantasy owners if healthy.

Miami homers...anything to add? News?

He's a solid start in PPR leagues, too - ranks #30 on the year and #23 over the last three weeks. That's a fantasy starter in every PPR league - especially in start-3 leagues.Don;t have anything to add, but I know the kid is tough. My guess is that they continue to play him on kick returns this week and hold him back a little bit in the game. I predict they start working Marcus Vick in on punt returns instead of Welker over the next few weeks. This news should put people's radar onto Hagans - the guy is gonna evolve into a BIGTIME threat for the 'phins, especially on possession downs.

Welker is the #4 WR in my league. He has been a stud this year. I hope he plays. :coffee:

There is practically nothing on the blotter about Derek Hagan. To this point he is 17 targets, 8 receptions, and 97 yards (66 in the same game). Why do you see him as being such a fantasy success?

He's the Dolphins #2 WR while Booker is out with his shoulder injury. Not sure if that will = success, but the first step towards producing, is the opportunity to produce. Hagan now has that opportunity.

With the 2nd big bye week coming up I assume many other teams are looking for a fill in WR. Is Hagan worth a start this week, or is he a sleeper for further down the road?

Gotcha. FWIW according to Rotoworld it seems Booker is ready to go for this week.

"Marty Booker, questionable with a chest injury, returned to practice fully on Wednesday and says he's "ready to go" for Week 7.

(Updated 10/19/2006)"

does anyone in dolphins land if Welker will continue to return kick offs and punts, with the recent bringing of m. vick to the team?

any update would be useful I know alot of guys have him in leagues that reward for returnage and he is a stud in those leagues, so if he loses his return duties it would hurt his value

(KFFL) Miami Dolphins WR Wes Welker (calf) missed practice Friday, Oct. 20, and is questionable for Week 7.

(KFFL) Miami Dolphins WR Marty Booker (chest) practiced Friday, Oct. 20, and is questionable for Week 7.

Rotoworld is saying Welker practiced fully on Friday.

from rotoworld...............

"Wes Welker (questionable, calf) practiced fully again on Friday."

"He's a solid fantasy option vs. Green Bay's nicked-up secondary."

Source: packers.com

Ok....so did he practice or not? Does anyone really know?

Yahoo is saying he practiced fully on Thursday without any noticeable limitations, and then he missed Friday. Rotoworld says he practiced fully on Friday. The guy is kinda short so it might be hard to spot him, but he's a white WR. I mean, come on...

Miami Dolphins WR Wes Welker (calf) practiced Friday, Oct. 20, and should play in Week 7. He is listed as questionable on the team's injury report.

Oct. 20, 18:00pt. (Copy and pasted from Football Diehards)

Receivers Marty Booker (chest) and Wes Welker (calf) made it through full-team drills again Friday and both appear to be on track to play as usual.

I just want to take this opportunity to recognize the glory of Wes Welker. He is the #2 ranked WR in our league (PPR plus 1 pt per 10 return yards).

Hopefully, Vick doesn't botch up his sweet KR/PR/WR gig.

Holy shniekes! We get one pt. for every 25 yds returned. I thought that was good. Puts WW at WR16 in that league. As long as Vick is just worked into the punt return duties, it won't affect Welker's production that much.I can't believe I am actually considering starting R. Brown, Welker and McMichael (3WR, No TE req.) tomorrow. Rams bye week is a killer for me. :loco:

Wes Welker - WR - Dolphins. vs. GB. Status - expected to play

Oct 22. Wes Welker and Marty Booker are both active for Week 7. Both are solid WR3 fantasy plays for Sunday
