Were things always this scammy? (1 Viewer)

I went to vegas over last weekend, and the way they try and 'nickel & dime' you to death these days is annoying. now obviously, Vegas's #1 objective is to separate you from your money, but $40 daily resort fees? GTFO. or charging me to park at a hotel where I'm staying?! I always used to do free valet and tip well when I left, now valet is $20 a day to park unless you are Super Triple Platinum status. even parking in the crappy structure is $10 a day.

we also do this thing every summer where we (group of about 10-12) rent out one of the pool cabanas at one of the Vegas day party hotels. in the past, all you had to do was hit a food/beverage minimum. so a $1000-$1200 minimum plus tip among 12 people was easy. now they don't even do that any more. they charge you a 'cabana fee' that doesn't get you anything except the cabana. so you could spend $1000 for the cabana, $1200 for the food/drinks, and a 21% 'service fee' on top of that. plus $30 drinks in 'souvenir cups' and so on . come on, man...

Whoa. I think I can see the line of the tiny little remnant of a third bar of soap fused to the second which is fused to the new one. Good work, colonel.

ETA: Maybe that's just a hair.
 just a crack in the sliver

ETA: Crack in the Sliver is a damn good band name IMO

I remember when I first learned a 2x4 is actually 1.5x3.5.  Has it always been that way? Perhaps @tommyboy remembers.
Nope. I work for an organization that reclaims lumber from old houses. One of the things we do when we evaluate a property is check to see how close to 2" the lumber actually is. The last four houses disassembled were built from 1908-1920. None of them were true 2" by material.

That is the fakest news I've ever seen.  There's obviously no fusion there, so I think you just did that but haven't actually used it in the shower.  No way that smaller piece is staying on.
WTH. You think I glued it? YOUR FACE is fake news, shuke!!

Going to add the Minnesota twins "split the pot" raffle. 50/50 is what everybody else calls them. Not in crappy target field. They only pay out 40%.

Breast cancer pink crap and runs. All are scam or very little money actually goes anywhere..

If you want to give to help find a cure, metavivor.com  That's the only place 100% monies go to research.

A man in Arizona is facing felony sex abuse charges after he allegedly faked Down syndrome and tricked a series of female caregivers into bathing him and changing his soiled diapers.

Police in Gilbert arrested 31-year-old Paul Anthony Menchaca on Sept. 6 at his home. He was charged with three counts of felony sexual abuse and one charge of fraudulent schemes, according to documents obtained by The Smoking Gun.

Authorities said Menchaca posed as a woman named “Amy” who advertised for a caregiver to bathe and change the diapers of an adult son with Down syndrome.

Three women responded to the ad. According to local station KNXV-TV, the victims know one another.

Each told police that Menchaca would become sexually aroused as he was being bathed.

At one point, the first victim became suspicious and contacted Menchaca’s parents. They told the woman that their son did not have Down syndrome or need diapers.

The three victims said they confronted Menchaca and he admitted to lying to them about his disability.

Police searched Menchaca’s home and recovered his cell phone and diapers.
