Wes Welker vs. #1 pass D (colts) (1 Viewer)

Part of why they are the number one passing D is that they have only played one team that can pass well: New Orleans. New Orleans started off terribly. They have faced Tennessee, Jax (in the game got hurt), the Testaverde led Panthers, the Texans, Tampa and Denver. Welker is going to do very well.

:football:I'm usually not a huge fan of the "look who they played" theory of explaining away stats, but in this case I do believe Indy's high pass D rank to be a specious number based on their competition. The only non-horrible passing teams they have played are Tampa & Denver.Granted, their D is improved and I'm glad I grabbed them off the wire early season, but I have had the Saints stashed on my roster with the express purpose of this week & next for Indy.

I'm seeing a trend with Indy that says the opposing TE gets a lot of action.Owen Daniels was 7-56 against Indy, while Eric Johnson was 8-57 on opening night..with the DB's playing a soft cover two to prevent the deep pass plays, the guys working the underneath routes figure to see a lot of action..it wouldn't shock me to see Ben Watson or Welker lead the team in receptions this weekend..either one could have a HUGE game..every single team has tried to stop Moss and Stallworth from running the deep routes, and the Pats have obliterated that..they smoked the Redskins seemingly good pass defense last week, and they'll likely do the same to the Colts on Sunday..a sneaky play is Kyle Brady..
