Eagles RB Westbrook Should Be Ready

Rueben Frank, phillyBurbs.com - [Full Article]

Philadelphia Eagles HC Andy Reid said after practice yesterday that Brian Westbrook's sore left knee is improving and Westbrook, who hasn't practiced this week and saw an orthopedic specialist on Wednesday, should be able to play against the Lions on Sunday. "He's getting better," Reid said on his way off the practice field. "I think he's going to be all right." Westbrook, who battled soreness in his right knee throughout most of last year, got hurt in the Eagles' loss to the Redskins on Sunday, although nobody is quite sure how or when. He walked around the locker room yesterday without a noticeable limp.
Also from Philly.com:Westbrook did not get an MRI exam, contrary to reports Wednesday that seemed to have stemmed from name confusion at Reid's news conference. The other "Brian," safety Brian Dawkins, got an MRI on his neck, for the stinger he suffered against Washington. Westbrook was examined by a doctor Wednesday but did not get an MRI, an Eagles spokesman said.

Brian Westbrook is reportedly "ready to go" for Sunday's game despite being listed as questionable on the injury report.

Westbrook's chances of playing against the Lions seem to be a lot better than the 50-50 that is denoted by his questionable tag. Check the afternoon inactives to be sure, but have Westbrook penciled into your fantasy lineup.

Westy will start and told the coaches to run the rock early.

ESPN's Sal Paolantonio confirms that Brian Westbrook will start Sunday.

Correll Buckhalter will back him up. Westbrook has an excellent matchup against the Lions and concerns about his knee should only be minor at this point. Make sure he's locked into your fantasy lineup.
