What a ####ing joke:
My music tastes changed on 9/11.
I don't think it's weird, it's BS planned to appeal to that crowd. He probably doesn't like any music but chose a demographic. The number one thing we want from a President is "Don't be weird". Republicans haven't offered a single person who isn't weird.
You guys are hysterical. The Tea Party is first and foremost about spending restraint. There are always odd folks attracted to movements like this, but the media has turned the caricature setting to 10 when it comes to this. I don't agree with a lot of what comes out there, but Nazis, really?fixed. As a life long republican, we are so screwed. There is no way I would vote for Cruz, Rubio, Rand Paul or Walker. They are way off the deep end. I cannot vote for Hillary either. But if forced I may vote for her over anyone of these bozos. We need a moderate who has some common sense. The Tea Party (Nazis/fascists/jihadis in sheep's clothing) have ruined the party, making us look like a bunch of idiots. I hear "wake up America" and I am not sure if they are talking about themselves or they think we are asleep? Obviously they don't get it and are completely disconnected from the people. Who they are suppose to represent. When will either party represent the people first rather than their party??
I've always respected steadfast conservatives - it must be terribly frustrating to be one these days.
The substance of what he said there aside, if he's actually going to run for president, someone in his campaign needs to be the Stephen Jones and put their hand over his mouth before he says stuff like that. Most candidates try to be relatable, not this guy apparently. Can't wait to see what's next.
I dunno. "Obamacare is the worst thing since slavery" and "being gay is a choice because sometimes people in prison have gay sex" seem like solid well-reasoned mainstream perspectives to me.Carson seems odd to me.
When he says 9/11 changed everything, he means everything. What a ####ing joke:

Sounds like he's playing to his constituents who love jesus, murica and country music (sans Dixie Chicks, of course).
It's in there, it begins with "the point is" and isn't hard to comprehend.
I would postIt's in there, it begins with "the point is" and isn't hard to comprehend.![]()
but it's actually comical to me how dense you can be.You're complaining that you couldn't vote for a certain candidate, and blaming that on the "base trumping up the crazies". Now that's comical.I would postIt's in there, it begins with "the point is" and isn't hard to comprehend.![]()

I can relate. Since 9/11 my favorite lunch meat is turkey. I didn't like how the bologna industry responded to 9/11.
Me too!I like the Dixie Chicks.
My baloney has a first name, it's "O-S-A-M-A".I can relate. Since 9/11 my favorite lunch meat is turkey. I didn't like how the bologna industry responded to 9/11.Ted Cruz doesn't like rock music because he didn't like how rock music responded to 9/11
HEY TED, HOW'S THIS FOR A RESPONSE?!
I heard he switched from boxers to briefs on that day as wellWhen he says 9/11 changed everything, he means everything. What a ####ing joke:

thus proving gay is a choice, though in a strange twist it turns out to be a patriotic choice....
Yup, that's what I immediately assumed. He may not have gotten the memo that he needs to broaden the old "appeal" a bit beyond that constituency in order to, you know, win. Yet another example of a superficially smart person proving to be spectacularly dumb. Of course, he accomplishes that feat with nearly every public statement.
Is it summer camp? I'd love a good summer camp for atheists.Wait, what's all this now about Cruz's father wants atheists rounded up in camps?
His dad is a less lovable, beer-less Billy Carter:Wait, what's all this now about Cruz's father wants atheists rounded up in camps?

Obama Should Go "Back to Kenya"
In the last four years, Rafael Cruz has suggested gay marriage is a government conspiracy, that Obama is pro-murder and resembles Fidel Castro, and that the American media is serving as a "ministry of information" attempting to damage the country,
Nice!!! He'll play well on the campaign trail! His dad is a less lovable, beer-less Billy Carter:Wait, what's all this now about Cruz's father wants atheists rounded up in camps?

Surprise surprise...you don't get it.Interesting that a 3rd tier candidate can get the lefties so riled up. I honestly dont get it.
yes. I can barely sleep.Interesting that a 3rd tier candidate can get the lefties so riled up. I honestly dont get it.
I know next to nothing about the guy, but I find the fact that folks are zeroing in on this to be somewhat disturbing.
NO HILLARY CLINTONThis is going to be a Mutt & Jeff campaign season; GOP on the right with 15 candidates claiming they didn't arrive in the clown car, and Hillary by herself cracking jokes about destroying public documents and pocketing cash while not taking questions. This'll be a hoot.
I believe that "other stuff" matters. It mattered with Bill Clinton, it mattered with Bush, it has mattered with Obama, it will matter with the next president, because who the person is will affect how they govern. What probably scares a lot of GOP voters about Ted Cruz isn't his actual stance on issues. I think he's pretty much a mainstream republican when it comes to their signature stuff: cut taxes, repeal Obamacare, get some military action going, gut regulations, social services, etc. What scares them is the clumsy, scorched-earth way he goes about getting what he wants. The debate about him should really be: will his way of legislating be effective as POTUS? And if it is, what does that say about where this country is headed?
Get to know your president. Does Obama's affinity for Jay-Z and Beyonce mean that he relates to their lyrics or approves of their words or actions? No. - I don't even know if Cruz's comment makes sense politically. Above it's mentioned that he's just aiming for his base, well that's just dandy, that won't help him get much further. He could have just said he liked country music because he enjoys the patriotic themes, but no he had to drag the 9/11/01 attacks into it and at the same time say rock is/was not patriotic. I will add that I think the politicization of everyone and everything in this country is a major problem (on the right and left), a new one, I think that's warped and dangerous, and I'd like to see us move away from it not towards it.
Folks are zeroing in on it to laugh at it. It's a ridiculous thing to say. They're not zeroing in on it because it suggests he'd be a terrible president. There's literally hundreds of other things that give a much stronger indication that he'd be a terrible president.
