What about these 2005 1st day rookies? (1 Viewer)

Looking back at some 1st day guys of the 2005 draft I see quite a few guys whom have disappointed. Is this list a total trash heap barely worth rostering? Are there any guys here whom could prove to be that breakout super sleeper, or even become a viable FF starter. Please include opinions cause mine stinks.

Roddy White WR ATL

J.J. Arrington RB ARI

Kevin Everett TE BUF

Mark Bradley WR CHI

Mike Williams WR DET

Ryan Moats RB PHI

David Greene QB SEA

Courtney Roby WR TEN

I still think BMW will finally put it together and start being productive, but that is just a gut feeling. No, I don’t own him in any leagues.

I see it as a possibility, if they move him to TE.

Bradley is my favorite on the list, he will become a productive WR if he can stay healthy. I think you can cross Greene, and probably Everett off of your lists. BMW and Moats need a change of scenery. Arrington and Roby are looking like roster fodder. I'm not really sure what happened with White. Having a vet like Joe Horn on the roster could help.

:lmao:

I'd agree Bradley and Williams are the favorites to make the leap - but my true darkhorse from this list is Arrington. Seems like he's never been given a fair shake by the Cards - granted, Edge was brought in to get the lions share. Plus, what would it do to your psyche to see a previous Pro Bowler ahead of you struggling his ### off to get anywhere behind a dismal O-line. The supporting cast is improving and Whisenhunt might be creative enough to put Arrington's speed to use.

:banned: I like Arrington as the longshot here. I think he's nearly worthless in AZ though, Ill be waiting until he moves on to make a move for him.

Actually, I see some reason to hope for most of the guys on that list. Two seasons is not a lot in the NFL. Many players come out highly rated/ranked, and take 3, or even four years to "make it".

There's a very long thread on the front page of the SP now about just one such player...Drew Brees.

Moats is an interesting player. He's probably too small to be a starter, but he has decent skills. He's the type of guy I'd take as a throw-in if his owner has given up on him.

If you watched ANY Cardinals games in 2005 you would know that (even behind that bad OL) Arrington us a bust . . .

It depends on the position . . .should you be patient with a QB or WR? Yesshould you be patient with a RB? Not really . . .yes I know there are exceptions (Priest Holmes) . . .

Priest ran for over 1,000 yards his 2nd year and he wasn't drafted.

True, but they still have to be given an opportunity. Moats, specificly, has not been given that opportunity....and I said I saw hope for most of the list. Arrington is one that I'd consider a long shot now. Chances are, he'll never amount to anything.
