What are B Marshall owners doing? (1 Viewer)

I grabbed Brandon Marshall in a couple leagues, thinking no way he could be as bad as last year.I blamed his horrible season a year ago on injuries and poor QB play.. I thought I was getting a steal when I grabbed him as my WR4 on 3 teams at around rounds 6-7 in those drafts. I was going to drop Marshall this week, but might hold now that McAdoo won't be calling the plays on offense(HOPEFULLY)..I'm guessing Marshall and Eli are still trying to get on the same page...I could grab guys like B Coleman, Hurns,Higgins,Louis, etc..(Not asking who to take in place of Marshall),but I'm just not sure if he's still worth holding onto him, when I could get guys with a little more upside. What are others Marshall owners doing? Every year their are a few players that start slow,so you drop or throw them in on a trade them and then BOOM,they turn things around and you regret it the rest of the year...I wasn't expecting 2015 Marshall #'s but was thinking a lot better than last year in a bounce back year, knowing all the attention would be on OBJ and Marshall would have a better QB throwing him the ball.

Given Marshall's history of effectively quitting on teams when things are not going well, I don't think his future performance looks much better considering the state of the Giants. Obviously things can turn around quickly, but I wouldn't bet on it with regards to Marshall.

To the OP:

What role does Marshall serve on your roster? Do you expect him to play a bye week or two? Is he purely depth only?

If he's on your team as potential for a flex play if he can turn his career around, then I would definitely go elsewhere on the WW. There are a lot of good options in your league. If he's just depth only and he's just taking up room, it doesn't hurt to hold. If I owned him, I'd drop him no matter what. There are better options on the WW.

Lots of people panicked when he signed there, suddenly Shepard wasn't going to be valuable. I wish I could find the quote where I said Marshall will amount to nothing this year and is done.

He's WW fodder at this point, I'd cut bait if I were you. So many better options on your WW

I don't really know what the Brandon Marshall owners are doing now, but I would be willing to bet it somehow involves toilet paper.

I didn't get him in any league, nor did I really pursue him, and I will sleep easier at night knowing I avoided this NYG mess.

Looks to be droppable in any and all formats.

Dropped him after week 1. Had seen enough and he was really only like my 4th/5th choice WR. Being burned by him last year probably contributed

I'll hold for a couple more weeks only because I have other injured guys I can drop this week, but its not looking good at all.

I'm about to drop him for Alex Collins in a league where I am starting two of Funchess, T. Ginn, S. Shepard and M. Sanu if that tells you anything.

Dropped him. If he breaks out, it's going to be on my bench. I'll never have the balls to start him, so someone else can deal with it.

I told him to go sit down at the end of he bench until the NYG shows they can give Gomer more than 0.63 seconds to throw the football. Nobody on waivers is even worth picking up in 14 team dynasty.

A part of me feels tbat when odb gets back that eli figures out how to make this offense better.  So for now holding hoping for bye week value

I think the problem with this thinking is that Sheppard and Engram both look better than Marshall so even if the ship is righted, and if the Giants distribute targets based on who is performing, he may be 4th (or 5th behind Vareen) in the offense.  I don't think that is worth a roster spot on even the best offense.

I dont disagree with this but for me and my league there really are no other options other than hoping he somehow reverts back to form from a few years ago and starts to at least catch 3-4 balls a game for 60ish yards just to make a bye week fill in shot in the dark.  Probably give him 2 more weeks just to see what happens.

I get that thinking, but I'd rather grab a guy like Collins who has some potential to help my lineup or at WR a guy like Kearse or Higgins on my bench at this point.  Marshall may come back somewhat but he just looks like a bench clogger to me with (very) limited upside and I hate having those guys.  Rather have a "swing for the fences" guy on my bench to start in a pinch but that a philosophical bench/lineup decision.

Starting him in all 3 leagues I have him in.  Each plays at least 3 LB and one flexes a 4th so he's a solid IDP option.

8 catches is encouraging.

Did Mcadoo call the plays?
I think McAdoo did call the plays....I might have to drop Higgins to try and pick Marshall back up after I dropped him for Hyped up Higgins last week. I think the Giants will have to pass a ton,it's the only way they can move the ball. That running game will not turn it's self around all year.I dropped Eli too last week too and started Rivers this week...I hate this game sometimes....

Anyone think he can turn it around or is he done? Just hit my waiver wire in one league.  Had a decent game last week..

He was just traded in one of my dynasty leagues for a 4th rd rookie pick.
