What are the Worst 5 teams after week 1? (1 Viewer)

I won't fight anyone who puts the Jets on some worst lists....Clemens is a Big Question mark at QB -The Offensive line is a mess and for the 15th straight year they have no Run Defense at all.The Pats beat them up, the Ravens are about to bash their heads in a little more and then the Miami defense comes in to clean up and probably steal a win.I said it in the offseason before the draft - this was a team that drafted two highly rated Offensive linemen and had a decent vet at guard in Kendall - The offseason was a time to fill the 2 OL holes with a solid Guard and a solid RT.... The draft was LOADED with that type of talent - There was an opportunity here to build a real Solid OL that could develop as the team improved and set a great foundation.I wanted to see possibly two more OL picks, at least for depth and what do they do - They lose Kendall, sign no one and draft a late round ol..WOW - I wrote before the draft that if Chad goes down behind a porous line, someone should be SHOT....And Here we are... I hope they are happy......
;) Though I can't blame anything on Clemens..... This week it was the playcalling and Pennington.OL still blows but, looks slightly better..... Team is a bucket with lots of holes needing the stars to align for Wins at this point.

My rankings are based upon talent.. If I based my rankings solely on Coaching I would 100% agree with you..

Although if we were ranking on coaching alone The Chargers would be #32 with the Vikes at #31.
Well then that's the difference. I'm ranking on on-field results. And the Vikings Coaches look like they have no clue.
*Fixed..
Well unfortunately you have to have those to win in the NFL. So the team as a whole, quite simply, stinks.

Until Houston gets healthy they have to be back in the running again. Maybe not bottom 5, but they are down there. Injuries have killed them on offense and special teams. The defense is much improved but is not strong enough (especially in the secondary) to carry the team every game.

32. New Orleans31. Atlanta30.Buffalo29. Minnesota28. St. Louis
It's amazing I can't keep the same 5 in this list for 2 weeks in a row.32 St. Louis Rams (They seriously are in jeopardy of not winning a game this year)31. New Orleans (They didn't play and I bumped them up, see the Rams)30. S.F. ( They have a terrible offense)29. Miami-They are just BAD on defense28. Carolina ( With Carr in there, they can't move the ball)

I agree with the bolded. But how does Minnesota move up in the rankings when they lost and showed nothing doing it?

Well, mainly the same reason the Saints moved up a slot without even playing.......just I think some teams due to injuries and looking poorly moved into those slots. It was tough coming up with the bottom 5 but I think losing to Green Bay by 7 who's undefeated wasn't horrible. The 3 teams that moved into my bottom 5 are SF, Miami and Carolina. Carolina with Carr in there is terrible, I think Minnesota is slightly better than them. S.F. with Dilfer looks very BAD and Miami and Minnesota is a toss up. When i think about Minnesota's games, they lost to Detroit by 3 in overtime. Longwell hit the post on a game winning field goal. They had KC beat in KC and they came back to barely win and as I mentioned, they lost a relatively close game to GB. I'm not saying Minny is a good team, but they have lost some competitive games to some decent teams.

What's amazing is that 2 .500 NFC teams can be bandied about in here while single win AFC teams are excused.

32) Miami

31) Jets (beat Miami)

30) Bills (beat Jeets)

29) Chargers (beat Bears@home who beat KC@home who beat SD on the road)

28) Rams have to take your hat off to injuries

My rankings are pretty close to these:

Rankings

28. Cincinnati - Defense is worse than I thought, and I knew it would be brutal.

29. New York Jets - proving last year WAS all smoke and mirrors.

30. Atlanta - Pending tonights results.

31. Saint Louis - I can't believe how wrong I was about this team. Injuries have KILLED them.

32. Miami - Defense got old fast. Wouldn't they have been better off keeping Welker and drafting defense?

Hovering near the top are San Francisco and Buffalo. 63 & 65 points scored, respectively? :lmao: .

I can't remember the last time I've seen seven one-win or no-win teams this far into the year.

Another factoid: The NFC West and AFC East are a combined 7-21 against the rest of the league. Excluding the Patriots, the record is 3-21.

Curious to know where you put KC at now that they have won 3 of 4? You had them as the worst team in the league just 7 days ago. How can a 3-3 team be anywhere near there?

Jets are a bottom 5 team right now and I'm a huge JEt fan

Awful QB play

Stubborn coach sticking with him making bad gameplans/playcalls

Terrible defense

Looking at a 4-12 year..

They're definitely proving me wrong. They won ugly against the Vikes and Bengals, but they still won. And they took it to the Chargers. They are turning out to be a decent middle of the pack team.

fixed.People are just now realizing that their defense is really good.

I can buy that. Jared Allen is a man posessed.I underestimated their defense terribly.

Bonus coverage this week. The worst 10 teams in the league.

23. Oakland - Moving in the right direction team-wise. Still going to be a tough season.

24. Cincinnati - Still a terrible defense.

25. Buffalo - Nice win this week. The Edwards pick starting to look like genius.

26. Philadelphia - McNabb, meet fork.

27. Minnesota - 30th ranked passing offense and I'm surprised it ranks that high.

28. New York Jets - Defense still sucks and so does Pennington.

29. San Francisco - Have scored 78 points in six games. Awful.

30. Atlanta - Back to Harrington? :goodposting:

31. Miami - And now Brown may be out. They should have traded Taylor too.

32. Saint Louis - A total implosion going on. Linehan will be fired before year end.

 I agree with your rankings.. :pickle:BTW.. where are all those people screaming for the Vikes to sign Leftwich??

1. St. Louis - they might beat SF when they play again

2. San Fran - they started out 2 - 0....it's been all downhill from there

3. Miami - showed some signs of life

4. Atlanta - Of they had beat the Saints, they'd have been on the "just missed" list

5. Jets - if not for the great plays by Coles and the garbage TD at the end, it would have been a blowout yesterday

If it wasn't for ADP and the defense, the Viking would be on here for sure.

#32 - Rams....I haven't seen a team this bad since the Raiders last year (but I think the Rams are even worse). They are on the clock right now and should plan accordingly.

#31 - Dolphins.....I don't understand what is going on here. I guess the O-line is aweful and the defense is too old. Either way they are really bad and would normally be #32, but the Rams are special.

#30 - Falcons.....things get a little tougher after the last two, but I have to give the nod to a Falcons team that just looks lost. I hate to use the Vick debocle as a scapegoat, but the team was built around him.

#29 - Jets......I have trouble believing they are really this bad, but I guess they are. They just find ways to lose.

#28 - Vikings......A good defense and a great running back is usually a recipe for a good season. Unfortunately Childress is finding ways to beat that with the worst passing offense I've ever seen and the misuse of ADP. The NFC North is the most improved division which means a long season for the Vikes.

28. Falcons/49ers - The two combined don't make one NFL offense.

29. Vikings - 30th ranked pass offense and 32nd ranked pass defense.

30. Jets - Defense is an overall wreck.

31. Dolphins - Given up 244 points on the season, worst in the league by 25 points.

32. Rams - A -190 point differential on the season. :goodposting:

and yet you place them above the Vikes. :wall: 27. Vikes

28. 49ers

29. Falcons

30. Jets

31. Dolphins

32. Rams

actually a case could be made to place the Bears at 27 since the Vikes already beat them once. :wall:

How are there 2 teams lower?

Which two?
You wrote that the Vikes are 30th in pass offense. I wondered how 2 teams could have a worse pass offense.

Oh, of course. I didn't pay close enough attention to the bold. The Bills are 31st and the 49ers are 32nd (in passing yards per game). Link.

I guess I understand the stat....but after watching them play, it's tough to imagine that there are 2 teams lower.

28. Bengals - Horrible, horrible defense.

29. 49ers - What happened to this team?

30. Jets - Defense is STILL a wreck.

31. Dolphins - Could possibly dig themselves out of the bottom 5 by the end of the season. Defense has underacheived and the o-line is playing better.

32. Rams - At least it didn't get worse this week.

Let's make this the worst 5 teams that played this week (pending tonight's results):

28. Carolina - I hear they're trying to trade for Tarvaris Jackson.

29. Ravens - Is their offense worse than the Vikings'?

30. Minnesota - At least Les Steckle feels better now.

31. Oakland - It's so bad that it may even be safe for women & children to be in the Black Hole.

32. Dolphins - Could possibly dig themselves out of the bottom 5 by the end of the season. Defense has underacheived and the o-line is playing better. Nevermind.

Jets climb out of the bottom simply because they didn't play and thus didn't have the chance to demonstrate their ineptitude.
