Thanks

bump... Ced Ben owner here as well and I am very unsure about him right now. I can't imagine that the Bears O plays worse going forward, that being said when I watch him run it appears that he will never run longer then 4 yards on a play. Interested to see what people are buying/selling for.

It has nothing to do with the Bears offense , Benson is a bad Rb and wont be starting for much longer .

Honestly Peterson looks better.

He may have a pretty good game against the Lions. Wait until after and get a bit more for him.

If you have the RB depth, trade him NOW while you can. He will be exposed by the end of the year, but right now you can still market him as a "young stud" and possibly get a #1 for him. I was just starting to do that myself, but now that Deuce is outI don't think I have the depth to move Benson.

I just traded a 1st and 3rd rounder for the guy. I'm kinda hosed this week on starting RB's. Jags are on bye, Rudi is gimpy and the Bengals play the Pats. Deep Dynasty League. I have another first rounder in 2008, so I still have a pick in the first round. It was bout the only option I had. Now can LT start playing like, oh, I don't know, maybe LT!?!?!

Just had the Benson owner in our league offer Benson for Hasselback and Santonio Holmes.

I countered with Hasselbeck and Bowe. I'll let you know how it turns out...

I gave up D Ward/Dolphins Def/Bruce for Benson/Bears Def/D Henderson a week ago. Benson was kind of a throw in just to keep some depth on my team but he is my RB5 so he will likely never see my starting lineup.

Right now I'm trying to send him to the owner of Deuce in a deal that looks like Benson/Schaub/ARE for Brees/B Jacobs/Colston. I'll see what happens.

This is a fair trade. You didn't give up too much, good when others realize Benson is just a mediocre to bad RB.

I just made a deal to acquire Benson. I am dangerously thin at running back.

The deal was Derrick Mason for Benson. I feel like it was a good deal for me, but then again, if Benson is benched it isn't so good. I am hoping the offense is rejuvenated with Griese and Benson benefits as well. I am worried about Peterson creeping up....but when my other option is Tatum Bell - Benson is an upgrade.

Honestly no he doesn't.

Wow, his value is lower than I thought.
IMO he is an excellent buy low.Went up against tough run defenses in San Diego and Chiefs (both top 10 rush defenses). Adrian Peterson has failed to impress in the action he has seen, and Griese will create a more ball control offense. His value starts to climb starting with this week IMO.

If you are so worried trade T Bell for Peterson and something else.

beware... Benson didnt see the field in the fourth quarter after his third fumble in the last four games. He is no stranger to the doghouse. That being said, I'd trade Derrick Mason for him all day.

I would need a top-15 player back to consider it. The past may be a great predictor of the future, but I think Benson will hit his stride soon. The Bears have been AWFUL on the O side of the ball, and he's been marginal. If they can catch a spark with Griese or whatnot, he could very easily hit the expectations I have for him.

I have a pretty good feeling about Benson going forward. Grossman sucks or rather suckED. If you want to trade Benson, at least wait and see how he does behind Griese, especially considering that he plays Detroit this weekend ($). If you want to trade FOR Benson, do it now while the iron is hot!

If people are throwing in Benson as a RB4 and/or trading him straight up for Santana Moss then it is most definitely a green light. This guy is a starting RB who is getting 20 carries a game. Believe it or not, these types of guys are valuable! Just look at what a washed up Edgerrin James has been doing this year. Now look at the Bear's and realize that their O has been killed, MURDERED due to Grossman's Jekyll and Hyde act. The guy is just not an NFL QB, and with an NFL QB coming in to play this Sunday (Griese) the picture can get turned right-side up very quickly.

Berrian is my biggest buy low on Chicago right now, but Benson is a close second.

Use this blurb to your trading advantage.

Cedric Benson-RB- Bears Oct. 2 - 5:37 pm et

After a Week 4 loss that included 60 pass attempts, Bears coach Lovie Smith plans on increasing Cedric Benson's workload.

"Cedric is the type of back who needs a lot of carries, so we’re going to try to get him more carries," Smith said. If the Bears are hoping Benson will tire out opposing defenses, they're going to have to make him stop dancing around behind the line. Both changes would benefit his fantasy numbers.

Bumpity bump. I am finding it very difficult to move Benson. Wondering if I should take anything I can get for him before he's waiver wire fodder.

Trading Benson for a guy like D. Mason is insane to me. Yes, I am a Benson owner, but I also am one who thinks Benson is average at best, below average most of the time. However, the Bears have NO other options. Adrian Peterson has been there how long, and behind how many average or worse backs (A-Train anyone)? If they thought he was capable of being more than a change of pace/third down back, I doubt they would have wasted such a high pick/big contract on Benson.

I figure the worst you will see out of him is 1000-1100yds, 30rec's, and 8ish TD's... simply because he is capable of being average, and he is going to get feature back carries. Those numbers are sufficient for a RB2, especially considering your RB1 was high in the first round and should be able to help make up for it.

I'd give up my backup kicker for Benson....possibly.

Kidding.

I've got him in two leagues and am holding. I'd like to get something decent for him, but, at this point, nobody is willing to give up anything decent.

I hope so, cause he needs a good game to make his value high enough to make a trade.

what if my #1 was SJ, LJ, or FWP?

You don't think that if Benson achieved the numbers above, paired with LJ or FWP, you wouldn't be pretty formidable? FWP has had 1, ONE, bad game. The guy had 100+yds his first 3. L.J. also finally showed life this week, as well as the entire KC offense. SJax is the only risk of the three you listed. I'd certainly hope you have a 3rd RB that can fill the void while SJax is out (assuming it's just a couple weeks of course).

in a dynasty, offered Santana Moss and was turned down. He countered with Lee Evans and Santana for Benson and Drew Bennett which i quickly declined. talks ended there.

I just received a request to BUY Benson from me in a redraft/non-PPR league. I asked for AJ, and we'll see what his counter is.

If he wants more, I will add in Lee Evans plus Benson for AJ and one of his non-starter RBs (JJones/AGreen/AStecker are currently his RBs behind Lamont and Steven Jackson)

I thought asking for Benson, given his RB depth, was kind of weird. I have :arry Johnson, so that may be his real target in all of this. Benson may be a red herring since he knows I won't take less than a starting quality WR in return for "Chester" ( )

Chicago fan here and I agree. The line is starting to look their age and we are trying force feed stone hands Berrian.

Guy in my league offered me Benson for Braylon Edwards. I said no sale. Of course I may have to reconsider. My rbs are sjax, maroney, jordan, ADP, and Ctaylor. Not many starters for this week in that group, are there??

I'm going to counter with Kevin Jones for Braylon, doubt he'll go for it though.

I am watching NFL replay rightnow on DirecTV..... Trade Benson for anything you can get. He is pathetic. Peterson does look just as good. I am watching it right now. He is horrible.

Why counter with Jones? I would think Jones has as much value as Benson.

That's why I'm countering. Jones has more value to me than Benson, and he would be giving up Jones. I have Braylon.

This trade just went down in my 16 team PPR dynasty:

Owner A gives: Cedric Benson + Ronald Curry

Owner B gives : A 2008 first round pick (will be pick 12-16)

I think MJD is the perfect player to target for Benson at this moment (assuming Benson has been relegated to RB3 status on your roster). More upside. Unfortunately, the MJD owner in the league where I own Benson refuses to part with him for anything less than Portis.
