What could Lincecum bring in a trade right now? (1 Viewer)

Look at what Liriano did last year as a marker of what Lincecum 'could' do this year. They are at least equal talents and his division is one made up of a bunch of pitching-friendly parks.

I don't think too many experienced owners would go overboard in paying you for a guy who hasn't thrown a MLB pitch yet. Maybe if he dominates Sunday you'll get some overhyper nerd to pay you a lot for him, but I think most people will take a wait and see attitude.

I traded King Felix for him. Could be the worst move I ever made...or the best. I also moved up a few places in waiver priority for our May 15th free agency move.

Good God
:o
It's not as bad as it sounds. No free agent moves allowed except one after May 15 and one after June 15. Other than that you can only drop a guy that is on the DL or in the minors and pick up a guy at the same position. I also got Kelly Johnson in the deal and the increased waiver priority will allow me to dump Padilla for Orlando hernandez. I dropped Murton after the two for one trade.

seriously though - I traded for hamels last year and gave up Hoffman. Pseudo keeper league and i was out of it. it was also later in the year when he started pitching well.

to me that's the ceiling of what he'll get this year. guy turned down rich hill for him??? not sure about that one - it'd do that in a second.

I know of an owner who turned down an offer of Rich Hill for Lincecum
If I were a Lincecum owner and was offered something like this (or more), I'd jump on it. The hype is just too far over the top for him to match it. Not that he can't be a solid SP this year, but he obviously won't put up the same kind of ridiculous numbers in the majors that he's done in the minors. And keep in mind that the number of minor league innings he's thrown is very low too. If you're a Lincecum owner and get an offer of an established upper-tier player, I don't see how you can turn it down at this point.
