Imagine both Bloomberg and Trump running as independents.
Tim you keep supposing things. When and where, in the NH Dem primary, in the general election? When it comes time to vote, it will end up being extremely low.Biden went up from 8 to 12 in the latest poll in NH and he hasn't even been running. The number of Democrats who won't name Hillary as their 1st or 2nd choice is relatively high.
That number is probably artificially high right now; they could be waiting to see if anyone else jumps in, or they could be letting Hillary know that she must stand for their values, but in the end, most of these (unless Sanders surprises) would probably end up for her (or not voting).Tim you keep supposing things. I'm talking the NH Dem primary and it's pretty absurd so many Democrats aren't even considering Hillary as their second choice after Bernie right now. They've obviously been waiting for someone else.
- eta - the number of Demos doing this in NH over a month ago was 32%, a third of all Democrats wouldn't even name Hillary as their second choice. I think if Biden gets in Hillary can be behind Sanders in NH in at least one poll by Labor Day or shortly thereafter.
Well that first caveat is exactly what we're discussing. That number is probably artificially high right now; they could be waiting to see if anyone else jumps in, or they could be letting Hillary know that she must stand for their values, but in the end, most of these (unless Sanders surprises) would probably end up for her (or not voting).Tim you keep supposing things. First guy came to mind for meHoover's father was a blacksmith. I bet he could have done it.I think Teddy Roosevelt could have done it.You might have to go back to that other Lincoln fellow...I don't think Lincoln Chafee has gotten enough mention.
I just came across this in his bio in a random article:
When was the last time we had a president who could shoe a horse?Upon graduation, Chafee attended Montana State Universitys Horseshoeing School and for the next seven years he worked as a blacksmith at harness racetracks throughout the United States and Canada.
These are great names. Maybe Chafee's the man.
I prefer my presidents to be corrupt multi millionaires, not billionaires.Imagine both Bloomberg and Trump running as independents.
Please refresh my memory. How many Democrats in NH have Hillary as their first choice?Tim you keep supposing things. And the "would not vote for" number has been going up for Hillary among Dems in NH, since she's been running. It's not supposed to work that way. You know who's WNVF number has been going down? Biden.

She's been winning NH by lots and lots since she released her book, which is when she really started running, but since she officially, really started her campaign she has been winning by less and less:Please refresh my memory. How many Democrats in NH have Hillary as their first choice?
http://www.businessinsider.com/howard-schultz-running-for-president-speculation-2015-8#ixzz3ht01VUn8Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz is reportedly thinking about running for president by aiming at 'Hillary Clinton's right flank'There's growing buzz around the idea Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz might run for president.
A pair of recent reports have said Schultz is considering launching a White House bid as a Democratic challenger to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
On Saturday, the New York Times' Maureen Dowd published a column that claimed "potent friends of America’s lord of latte, Howard Schultz, have been pressing him to join the Democratic primary, thinking the time is right for someone who’s not a political lifer."
And on Tuesday, The Wrap's Sharon Waxman published a piece suggesting "Schultz is mulling a run for president, headed straight for Hillary Clinton’s right flank, just as Joe Biden aims for her left."
Waxman's column was particularly interesting — since, as she disclosed in the piece, Waxman and her company have relationships with Schultz.
"Full disclosure: I know Howard Schultz personally, and the venture firm which he cofounded but does not run is an investor in TheWrap," Waxman wrote.

Fiorina has been mentioned as a VP candidate; an attack dog who can call Hillary out on the War on Women rhetoric. We already have Webb as a more moderate option. Not sure some random executive needs to waste anyone's time. Yeah you too Fiorina.
He'll sell the country to Clay BennettAny good info on Schultz? I know he caiyght flack for having employees write something like race matters on coffee cups last year, but I have no idea on his positions...
This could be a Game ChangerTMWe could have a ManBearPig sighting-
"ABC's Rick Klein tweeted that a former Gore adviser confirmed that a "circle of his former aides are talking about" a potential 2016 bid though they are still in the very early part of the discussion."

If Gore gets in it's over for Hillary. I don't even think anyone in the GOP field would be able to beat him either.
he said that 3 years before he ran for President again. Gore's been gone a lot longer. You won't have NixonGore to kick around anymore.
Fixed.Damnit all the awesome Gore threads are lock-boxed

Let facts do the heavy lifting. How in the hell can you have a primary where the frontrunner is being investigated by the FBI and none of the other candidates even bring it up? Weird.
Presidential politics ain't beanbag. If you want it, you better show it.Let facts do the heavy lifting. How in the hell can you have a primary where the frontrunner is being investigated by the FBI and none of the other candidates even bring it up? Weird.
That type of campaigning has the same maxim as cross examination. If you aren't sure of the answer don't ask the question. Exhaustive discovery is incomplete. Wait for it. It's a marathon. How in the hell can you have a primary where the frontrunner is being investigated by the FBI and none of the other candidates even bring it up? Weird.
You don't have to ask any question. Hoping to get lucky is why you don't attack now. It's sloppy. I think you're impatient. I understand you want her buried asap, but let's give her enough rope instead. It may be better than actually using the shovel. Damn, I'm not allowed in political threads. How'd I get here. Off to the beer thread. You guys carry on.You don't have to ask any question. Otherwise, you may get lucky and the nomination falls in your lap because there is more to this than is known so far. But if their isn't, you have missed a chance to wound her now.
