What did we learn in week 3? (1 Viewer)

I learned that I should really be concerned that Tom Brady is my qb1. It's one thing if NE is blowing a team out the water and relying on defense and the run game...like last week.

But today's game was close for 4 quarters and Brady did not look good.

Praying for a turnaround but rt now he is killing his owners.

Taliaferro is a good Rb and a great fit for kubiaks scheme. I'd be shocked if he just went back to the bench after this week.

The league is so unpredictable. You would think NO would have blown minn out of the water. Same with ne and oak. But those games were much closer than expected.

You would think GB/Det would be a shootout Nurit was low scoring.

You would think the texans defense would nearly kill Eli today but the giants rolled them.

The only game that went as predicted was phi / wash.

All that talk about Lynch being broken because of carries, or the shying away from guys like Murray instead for guys like Ball was horribly wrong. Proven products are proven. Forecasting good players is nothing more than educated guessing.

Re: DET/GB: Looking at last few times they have played Rodgers has always struggled so not too surprising to see a low scoring game

After 3 weeks, I've come to the conclusion that FF has become too random to be enjoyable anymore. The RBBCs, ridiculous number of injuries, bizarre coaching decisions and out of the blue poor performances (studs) are killing the fun.

I'm moving on to daily fantasy and retiring from this redraft bulls#it.

More personal: Also learned I let the performance of my team dictate my weekend mood too often. Big win = I'm happy; Players suck = I'm crabby and short tempered. I let this take too much out of me.

Lacy=Trent Richardson 2.0
Did you even watch last season? Richardson has never looked that good In a NFL uniform. He's struggling right now along with the entire GB offfense minus Jordy last week.
He plays like he is shady Mccoy back there with his spins and dancing around. He needs to realize what type of runner he is. He isn't a dance around and make you miss kind of guy. McCarthy won't hesitate to bench the guy. Starks has filled in much better Averaging over 5 ypc. Compared to 3.1 ypc for lacy. It's small sample size but lacy hasn't exactly looked the part this year. Also yes I have watched his games.

Tom Brady is cuttable in all leagues.

Stop it with the excuses, Eddie Lacy is a bust.
A lot of people apparently think the entire season is played in September. In today's world of instant gratification for all things, it seems we feel compelled to draw immediate conclusions.

Honestly, I think more people win leagues as a result of buying low from "quick to judge" owners than people who fire sale highly drafted players when they are trying to get ahead of the curve and announce players are busts.

I much prefer fantasy baseball. The stats even out over the course of a season and injuries aren't often as serious - you may get a DL stint here and there, but season-ending injuries aren't quite as common.

-That I need a deeper bench for my injured MASH Unit

-Bortles has "it"

- I need to pay attention more to historical information as in GB-DET and Rodgers/Stafford and Co. struggling

after 20 years of fantasy I am really losing interest. it's not as fun as it use to be, even in winning.

That the NFL is unpredictable

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers got outscored today, by the Detroit Lion defense 9 - 7

The Steelers went 8 quarters without a touchdown and now are going to hang 30 + on one of the best defenses in the league

The Cardinals are 3 - 0 and Larry Fitzgerald is their 3rd leading receiver

Jake Locker, Kendall Wright, Justin Hunter, and Delanie Walker could only muster 10 points against the Dallas defense. but the 3rd string quarterback of the Rams and his cast of receivers put up 31

The Giants looked like a bad college team the first 2 weeks especially on offense, Houston's defense looked legit, so the Giants put up 30 on them

Taking WR's and TE's in the early rounds is still looking like it was a good idea.

Fred Jackson is still NOT too old.

I'm cutting Brady.

BIG +1 to unpredictable.

I'm officially done trying to figure this crap out.

From now on I'm putting on a blindfold and clicking randomly until it accepts a lineup. I'm not going to look at it until the games start on Sunday and hope for the best. Can't be any worse....

Oh and the only two teams worth having players from are Washington and Philly.

This year is dumb.......

I'm beginning to agree with this--it's not as fun anymore. The committee crap at every position, the injuries--yes, both of those things have always existed, but never to this extent. It's not about strategy anymore when you're losing because of consistent, completely random vultured scores to obscure players--when John Brown and Joe McKnight are scoring multiple TDs one week and outpacing any other conceivable starters on their respective teams, that's not strategy, planning, or scouting--that's a football version of a game of Yahtzee.Something needs to change. Maybe FF needs to move towards "team running backs" instead of a single player, or at least a starter and his handcuff get credit for points scored. As it stands right now, FF is becoming just a game of luck where success is random, and that's about as fun and meaningful as a game of "Rock, paper, scissors".
If you play best ball you can plan around this.

--that Torrey Smith, determined to live up to his preseason "breakout year" billing, doubled his weekly output from 1 reception to 2. He now needs only 94 more receptions to fulfill Joe Flacco's prediction that he would become a 100 catch receiver this year.

Now, now guys, fantasy isn't for everyone. For sharks to win, someone needs to lose. We haven't even hit bye weeks yet.

The most important thing is to not give up. Play the waiver wire, ace a few trades, and squeak into the playoffs.

That the NFL should ban all player celebrations after making a play to protect the players from themselves. See Stephen Tulloch

That in most threads it seems like about 10-20% of the posts have any information pertinent to the thread and the rest are split between people either trying to be funny or complaining.

On a Chargers note, don't sleep on Donald Brown and watch for who they sign this week. Brown had 31 carries for only 62 yards but remember that Buffalo's D-line had 3 pro bowlers from last year and a lot of the runs came late when everyone knew they were going to run to take time off the clock.

With Mathews out a few more weeks and Woodhead likely gone for the season, he has only 2 rookies behind him as of now--a 6th round pick and UFA. He will get 20+ touches.

Also, Rivers should be a top 5 QB next week at home against the Jags.

Generally, I think this is true. I know we all tend to gripe when we lose but I've noticed most of my buddies and I, even when we have a good week, spend more time talking about all the random crap than we ever do talking about "wow! Did watch that game where this player did that?"

League rules mean a lot but in most of mine (especially IDP) it seems like it is more random than it has ever been.

I think the way dailies are gaining momentum in the main stream, it might mean the end of traditional FF.

Demaryius Thomas and Keenan Allen may be hampered by some nagging injuries, and/or they are just not ready to be "the guy" on their respective teams (with added defensive attention).

Don't agree with Demaryius..he's a beast. I thought Allen was overdrafted this year and avoided him...I think Rivers is all too willing to spread it around...even last year Allen's numbers were buoyed at the end of the year with some late TD catches. The one thing that may work to his favor now though is that the Chargers may be forced to pass the ball more as all their RBs are going down and Brown won't be able to last running 30+ times/game.
