The sick one always goes to the couch. Only because our couch just gets warm. I don't know how else to describe it. So it is perfect for the sick one to wrap up in a warm blanket, a couple layers of clothes and go sleep on the couch and sweat it out.

I am not sure if it actually works, but we both feel like it does.

Well, thanks a lot for starting this thread, General. My wife has just tested positive for COVID, and I have been kicked out of the bedroom.
I laughed, but I do hope your wife has a mild case and recovers quickly.
Good luck and hope it passes quick.

Thanks, let's hope. She has actually been sick for nearly a week and a half now. Seemed like just a cold at first (and probably was). But she ended up going to the doctor on Tuesday as she started getting a bunch of greenish mucous. Doc said sinus infection and prescribed an antibiotic. Yesterday she feels worse and says she has a fever and a headache. "Uh, I bet you have COVID" I suggested. Confirmed with home test. She has had COVID before and is vaccinated with double boosts, so hopefully it will be mild. She is a breast cancer survivor and worries about her immune system. Ironically, she had scheduled COVID booster for this past weekend, but cancelled it when she wasn't feeling well.

Back to the topic of the thread...I had COVID the first week of January. I isolated in the bedroom...didn't come out for 5 days. Wife slept in the guest room. My wife has been sick for a week and half, and we still shared a bed until the COVID realization yesterday when she promptly told me to pack my things. I told her I am already exposed, and I probably can't be any more immune than I currently am, but she insisted on isolating.

I don't recall my wife and I ever quarantining from each other.

We are not that far removed from raising young, snot nosed children......you know, when they are little petri dishes......we were sick all the damn time. Came out of it with super immune systems.

I like that the Offspring has come up so many times in here - isn't the lead singer like a PhD in infections diseases or something?

I spent my Covid week in the basement where we have a futon. It was honestly a great week - I played Last of Us, watched Reservation Dogs and some movies from my list, and I wasn't miserable... my work office is down there also, so I was able to check my email a few times so I didn't fall too far behind. I should schedule a basement week each winter.

Yes. He's a microbiologist.

Neither wife nor I have had the flu or COVID since we've been married. Not sure what we'd do.
Should have known this one would come back to haunt me. Just got back from a trip to LA for a wedding. Did a bus tour while there (yes, stupid) and wife got Covid. All the symptoms. Answer is, I stayed put, same bed and all. I haven't contracted it (yet, knock on wood). I did almost switch rooms last night after 90 min of her coughing when we went to bed. But then she stopped.

I wish her a speedy recovery and I hope that you can avoid getting it. I’ve known several people that have come down with the strains that are going around. They tend to be very hit or miss in regard to severity. Hopefully hers is one where she bounces back and tests negative in a couple/few days. As for you—I’d make sure you boost your vitamins C, D and Zinc (Assuming that you aren’t allergic to them)—and even consider taking a ginger shot a day for the next few days. Anything you can do to boost your immune system over the next week or two couldn’t hurt. GL
