After keeping a low profile for several days, the Carolina Panthers are entering the sweepstakes for receiver Keyshawn Johnson.

According to several league sources, the Panthers have had contact with Johnson, who was released last week by the Dallas Cowboys.

A visit by Johnson to meet with team officials in Charlotte could take place in the next few days.

Oakland may be looking at him as a boost to the running and passing game. Apparently his blocking skills are valued. Although, I think they are also looking at Larry Allen and may not want to commit to the $$$ needed for both. Larry Allen is a higher priority for them right now.

with the level of interest out there key is going to make over $3 mil next season

He arrived in Charlotte last night. I would not be suprised if he was a Panther by Friday.

I also wouldn't be surprised if he got back in his limo with an offer that he is not happy with...

I think the Panthers fit his skills the best.

They do. Speedy #1 WR, emphasis on the running game, need for a good #2 possession receiver, contender, makes perfect sense.Probably the best fit. KC would if not for Gonzo already filling the possession receivier role.

Carolina makes a lot of sense in my opinion but I doubt they will be willing to pay the ridiculous amount that Key is asking for.

bump this
BAd form to bump your own prediction. It was a great call. It would've been bumped. You didn't need to do it yourself....BTW, when I win the draft Lottery, what are you going to offer me for Bush?
