What good do you expect from Trump as President? (1 Viewer)

No, Trump actually lied about that.  Meeting was scheduled for an hour.
Makes sense.  There is no way that it should have ever been a pure meet and greet

The most positive outcome I think is likely from a Trump presidency is a scaling back of executive branch power.

Beyond that it would be good if we get fiscal stimulus via spending and tax reform. I've been saying for years that tax reform probably needs to happen while a Republican is in the WH.

Shouldn't this thread be hundreds of pages long by now? The election is just about a week old. I thought we were making America great again?

:lmao:

Yeah, the guy with the biggest ego ever to hit 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is going to scale back the use of the office.

What world are some of you living in? Holy ####.

What I really want him to accomplish if nothing else is term limits. If he gets this through he will be our greatest president in decades. (not saying much)

His 200 day tentative plan is heavy on improving trade agreements. If he is successful there without starting trade wars, it would be nice.

I think Congress will hand him an infrastructure bill so he/they can get a win. Everyone agrees it's needed, and it gives Congress and the president some ammo that they are "job creators." The GOP has been blocking it because it didn't want to give a win to Obama, and supposedly because they didn't want to spend the money on it but the election has made it fairly clear that people don't care about the deficit at the moment.

Hopefully they'll pay for it, but either way it will mark the high point of the Trump administration, briefly pushing his approval ratings into the 40s and maybe even close to 50 if he gets it done before the inevitable scandal or bungled foreign policy decision

Fwiw it looks like he will roll out a massive student loan bill too.

Oh yeah?  Interesting. I've actually been avoiding all news and social media since the election. It's just too depressing and frustrating, and life around here is depressing enough these days. When one of your friends is bawling as she watches her husband strap on a bulletproof vest to go take a bullet for Donald ####ing Trump, there's only so much more you can take.

Oddly enough hanging out on this board doesn't bother me, though. I think maybe all the humor and shtick acts as some sort of filter. So keep me up to date, GB!

I will.

As a Saints fan I'm well familiar with the need to avoid all media for a whole week at a time.

A month ago he proposed the most progressive college debt plan this side of Bernie.

I'm on the fence on term limits but I lean against them. Seems like it'd create a lot of power for unelected career DC folk.

Why do you think they'd be so good?
