What Happened to Drago After Rocky IV? (1 Viewer)

The guy was a machine.  He was young and his professional career was just beginning.  In only his second professional fight (if you count the fight again Apollo, which was technically an exhibition), he went to the last round against the greatest champion of all time.  Sure he was a disgrace to his country by the end, but it's hard to imagine that some promoter didn't pick him up, right?  I bet the guy had a pretty lucrative career.  Yes, he was roided up, but his entire country turned against him in the middle of a fight and his staff and wife were berating him.  They were only using him.  There's a part of me that sort of feels bad for the guy and hopes it all worked out for him in the end.

Watch Creed II.

I watched Rocky IV yesterday, and looked up Drago's wiki. Apparently, there's an authorized companion book to the Rocky series. Drago can't turn pro because of commie politics and is exiled to the Ukraine. After the fall of communism he amasses a 31-0 record (31 ko) and becomes the disputed champ.

Creed II picks up from there.

Drago's son you mean?

I heard he started wandering through Siberia just hitting random objects. Apparently those objects were all destroyed.

I have not seen Creed II, but given how unbeatable he was considered to be, I don't think Drago would have ever mentally recovered from losing to Rocky the way he did.  He could have still had a good career, but his aura of invincibility was gone and his opponents would always know it.

Creed 2 didnt pick up at the end of drago's  boxing career.  More like 20 years after that
My post explained the 20 years. I read the wikipedia. That website mentioned a companion book about the series. That book says Drago turned pro after the fall of the USSR. He won 31 bouts in a row. After that the character was featured in a movie called Creed 2. That movie explains where he's at now.

He ended up getting signed by Vince McMahon to fight a couple bouts in the WWF.  But after his contract expired, he went back to Russia to become a voice of change in hopes of bringing democracy there.  All was good until he spoke out against Putin.  Shortly after, he committed suicide by shooting himself in the head 25 times and then burying himself in a shallow grave.

That's dark, dude.

Died from brain damage due to all the absolute, unblocked, purely connected on haymakers he received.
