What high draft pick are you benching in week 1? (1 Viewer)

I'm sitting Best (5th) and Bradshaw (6th) for Malcom Floyd (9th).... but it's a superflex league where we only have to start 1 RB (Chris Johnson) and PPR is 1 for WR and .5 for RB... so a 4 wide set of Roddy, Colston, Smiff and Floyd could end up being my weekly stud lineup w/ Bradshaw and Best riding pine.

Sitting crabtree for Jennings (duh) and Stewart for addai.

Another league sitting boldin for knox (wr3, aj and s smith CAR wr1 and wr2)

You are super crazy.

I am starting both Jahvid Best and CJ Spiller over Mendenhall. I think the ATL is going to load up the line against Pittsburgh and dare Dixon to beat their corners.

Sitting McCoy (36) in favor of Spiller (60) and Hightower (132)
Sitting Mccoy for bradshaw and barber...non ppr.
Benching McCoy for Spiller and Bradshaw - both seem to have higher upsides this week - McCoy's name popping up pretty often in this thread! Say Philly shuts down the GB offense - then I see a lot of Mike Bell in an effort to run down the clock. If GB scores a ton of points, McCoy probably sees more time on the field, and winds up with 6-7 receptions, but it's hard to see this leading to much of a big day.

In one league, I benched Pierre Thomas (my top RB...I had the 12th pick) for Marion Barber.

In another league, I benched Barber (my RB2) in favor of Harvin.

In both cases I likely made the wrong decision. Not a good start to the season.

forget the jets line vs the ravens d, is anyone sitting greene simply because of the spectre of tomlinson (combined with the matchup) and wants to see how it shakes out first? i'm thinking about running bradshaw out there for him week 1 just because of the uncertainty.

Some of these are totally NONSENSE! I can see benching Wells if his injury report is not good, but to bench DeA Will or J Stew? Why? Sure the NYG have a nice Def, but DeA Will & J Stew are 99% of the Panthers offense. So what if they put 8 or 9 in the box. Then 1 pass to Steve Smith gives them the field and the box is back to 7. And Benching Turner for Best? WHY? THE MADNESS IS KILLING ME!! You made a high investment on these players for a reason. They are talented and in good situations. USE THEM.The highest "investment" I am sitting is my 9.04 pick TE V Shaincoe. I have Oak TE Zach Miller (7.11 pick). While playing matchups is a good idea when the talent or situation calls for it, there are few today that make sense.....
How did benching Shiancoe go for you?

Benching Mike Wallace for Tampa Mike
I'm probably doing this as well.I also have Romo and Cutler. Playing Cutler this week hasn't even crossed my mind. My league penalizes heavily for turnovers though.
Yeah because Cutler threw so many picks against Det last year. We got some great sharks here  Week 4 last year: 141 yds passing; 3 total TDs (2 passing; 1 rushing)Week 17 last year: 276 yards passing; 4 TDs
Good Luck with Martz and Marinelli. You sound pretty confident in their coaching skills.
Good luck with the Lions. It has only been 50 years or so since they did anything worth talking about

Mike Martz’ offenses always lead the league in sacks against. He gets his QB’s murdered. And the Lions front 4 last year did not have Ndamukong Suh or Kyle Vanden Bosch. I promise you the Lions front 4 will get sacks galore this season (or at least keep QBs under constant pressure), and Cutler will be one of the guys they ring up the most.If you think you can just apply Cutler's stats last year vs. the Lions to this year vs. the Lions, without taking into account that he is running a different offense than he was last year against a much improved Lions defense from last year, well then you aren't nearly as much of a "shark" as you thought you were.
Jay Cutler and his 375 yards + 2 TDs + 20+ rushing yards say hi....sure he threw one int and lost one fumble, but how is the whole starting Romo over Cutler this weekend working out for you? The Lions are better this year, no doubt, but anyone can throw on them, especially a stud like Cutler with Martz calling the plays. :tfp:

You start Romo, every time in this spot. Sunday night football against a division rival.
Im benching Romo for Shaub, I just dont trust the Dallas O right now.
Most of us that play in normal leagues don't have that option. Schaub/Romo >>>>>>>>>>>>Cutler
How is that Schaub and Romo starting over Cutler working out for you this weekend? Next time, pay attention to match ups....it is part of making a decision in FF. "Never bench your studs" is a bunch of baloney....anyone who started Mike Turner vs Pittsburgh that had their NT and Polamalo return know what I am talking about.

No need to roll your eyes. Unless you're 12. You're not 12, are you?Anyway, my reply to you is that while Cutler did indeed have very good stats vs. Det last year, this is not last year. Cutler is in a totally new offense and looked pretty putrid in the preseason. If I didn't have Romo, I would consider Cutler over guys like Kolb, Flacco, or Palmer. No need to bench a guy you likely took in the 3rd round for a guy like Cutler.
Jay Cutler and his 20+ points say hi while Romo and the Dallas O looks like crap.... enjoy

Confirmed and confirmed. 0-2...time to start preparing for next years draft.

I bolded the thing you seem to be missing here. Cutler had 2 turnovers, Romo had 0. Romo also had 8 more completions. Not all leagues have the same scoring system.

Jets OLine is the best run-blocking line in all of football. Look no further than the stats of Thomas "I do nothing above average" Jones from last year as proof. You start the Jets starting RB vs. any opponent and don't think twice about it.
I had to bump this, couldn't help myself. But it's not a rub in, just that I thin Baltimore didn't get enough credit especially in their front 7. The Jets should have attacked their secondary and they didn't. They rolled over like the dogs they are :lmao:
