What info do you want on a cheetsheet? (1 Viewer)

My league doesn't allow the use of laptops during our live drafts/auctions. I've used a "standard" cheetsheet in the past, but I've found them a little lacking and wondered what sort of information other owners like to see on their draft lists.

This is what I'm thinking so far:

[*]Player, team, bye week

[*]Projected fantasy points, points per game (esp. important for suspensions or injury time)

[*]VBD (for drafts), "ADP" based on VBD (essentially the order they "should" be drafted, based solely on VBD numbers)

[*]Auction values (based on VBD numbers) and expected cost (fuzzy math using ADP and league history)

[*]ADP (for drafts) or ADP positional ranking (e.g. RB1, RB2, etc.; for auctions)

[*]Player notes (short blurbs listing handcuffs, upside, etc.)

Is there anything else that would be helpful to list on the sheet? Obviously I could pack a bazillion pieces of info on my sheets, but I also want to keep it simple enough that it's not overwhelming (not to mention needing fifth pages per draft).

Player, team, bye week

anything else is TMI during the draft. If you don't know it before hand its not going to be useful during the draft

For dynasty I always have the age and year they are a free agent or when their counterpart is a free agent.

One thing I like to do is a QB bye week sheet. I have all the starting caliber QB's listed along with their bye week. Then to the right I have a list of backup QB's who have favorable matchups during that week. I try to stick to games versus the worst 5-7 teams in the league as those are easier to project. So when I take a QB, I look to the right and see who would be a good target for me as a backup. I don't follow this exclusively though, sometimes I just take BPA. But it can be helpful if you draft Aaron Rodgers and are trying to decide between Jason Campbell, Matt Cassell and Josh Freeman as a very late backup QB choice.

I integrate the following into my interactive cheat sheets:

1. Player, Team, Bye Week, Experience

Experience is useful for WRs entering their 3rd season.

2. Tags for 'Sleeper', 'Bust', and 'Injured'.

You just click on the tag and it is saved for easy reference as you configure your sheets. This way I get a visual clue on players to keep an eye on.

3. 2009 Stats (/w 'Total Fantasy Points' and 'Fantasy Points Per Game')

It's nice to have 2009 stats visible right in the cheat sheet itself. You can also sort your sheet by any statistical category. The fantasy point calculations is based on the standard scoring system, but I hope to integrate custom scoring rules next year

4. A Configurable Note

You can add notes on every player right in the cheat sheet so you can reference your notes as you're dragging and dropping players around the sheet

5. Printable

When you generate a printable sheet, all of your custom rankings for each position are integrated, as well as bye weeks

I think the greatest part is that you can drag and drop player around, rather than trying to copy/paste around a clumsy spreadsheet. The one big thing I'm still missing from my player templates is 'player news'. It's be nice to have links to recent news about each player inside each player template, so you can just click it (or hover) to get the latest info about that player. ADP is obviously a populate choice as others have stated.

If it's a league that I have been involved in for multiple years, I allocate a corner of my cheatsheet for either opponents' typical draft patterns and/or league collective draft history as far as positions drafted per round. This often -- not always, but often -- helps me when deciding between players at two different positions. It's especially useful if you're looking to draft two players around the short side of a turn, like 3rd round 9th pick and 4th round 4th pick.

In my longest-running league, five owners tend to follow specific patterns of when they take a QB or TE, favoring RBs or WRs early, etc. More often than not, I am able to get both players I want when I have those owners near me at the end of the draft order.

Hey, every little bit helps...
