Also I would argue that Adams in the 3rd in start-ups is a bad value/pick. About to turn 30 with a downgrade at QB. 

i did like the scenario of having 1 year to live though. 😂

This is the 3rd or 4th offer from this owner, he has darnold and wants corral which is understandable.

He has offered me eno and van individually, as well as reagor before this for corral straight up. I told him id rather add to corral and get a better return. Then i get this offer lol. I dont really need a TE at all, and this isnt a TE prem or start 2 TE league

Some might feel Freiermuth is worth a late 1st.  Looking at the 2023 dynasty mock thread https://forums.footballguys.com/topic/804376-2023-12-team-dynasty-3-round-mock-draft-ppr-start-1qb/. Freiermuth could be more desirable than Tucker, Downs, or Young (non-SF).  If non-SF I don’t see Corral having a lot of value, but neither does Eno or Van Jefferson, regardless of league.  So, in non SF and non TE premium, is Freiermuth worth Corral and a player like Tucker, Downs, or Young?  Probably not.  However, in a non superflex non TE premium league, I could see Freiermuth and a 2023 2nd for Corral and a 2023 1st being fair, but I personally feel the 2023 1st has more value than Freiermuth for what I could get for it, so even that would be a rejection by me.

Im not really arguing if he is or isnt worth it, he prolly is ( also  my 23' 1st is easily the best piece of the proposed deal). But in the context of my roster, its pretty clear i dont really need that position. I told him what i was looking for and he just kept spamming me with crazy offers that werent close to what I told him.

I dont mind getting offers and negotiating at all. Its just tilting when what seems to be a probing type offer to get a conversation going, is actually just a bad offer and clarifying your wants so that talks can progress actually doesnt improve the process for the other guy. So now i know, that its not a probing offer to kick things off, its just a lowball from a serial lowballer, and i will basically only counter with ridiculous offers from now on. For example;

Pwingles squad offers Corral, Matt CAR QB

Naked Thunder for London, Drake ATL WR

It was declined, no counter... how rude

While I agree I didn't like his offer for the reasons explained earlier, but instead of making a worst offer, perhaps an offer of something you need for Corral+  instead of saying "id rather add to corral and get a better return.  Actually make an offer instead.  Plus explain that you didn't need Freiermuth.

I gave him that message, and he sent me the offer i originally posted within a few minutes before i could even put together an offer on my end. I just dont have patience for serial lowballers. If he has something I truly want in the future, ill make an offer.

Im aware some people send silly offers looking for a counter proposal, just to get a dialogue going. Not my strategy, but thats ok. Ill treat the first offers as if they are that, and then if they arent receptive to feedback, its just a waste of my time tbh.

See here is a perfect example of what this thread is all about. Some of those posted are bad ... but not ridiculously bad, where it leaves speechless. This one here ... I have no words.

 
Got this fine offer today ....  now I am shopping WAS WR McLaurin ..and I have asked this franchise about 2 of the players previously .... so he felt it worth this offer... In part this was his counter... Do you think he was making a statement that he is not interested? 

I give up Wash WR T McLaurin

I get in return his 2022 4th round pick

I'm the kind of football fan who knows the names of udfa.  The names of fringe starting linemen of teams on the opposite side of the country.  And I have no clue who Tyquan Thornton is.

If that isn't a 100% upside guy idk who is.

He was drafted by the Patriots - one of the fastest times at the combine. With that said it’s probably not even worth learning who he is.

Just because you don’t know who he is, he’s a 100% upside pick? You mentioned all of the people and types of players you know but you don’t know a second round WR? You can certainly argue that it was a horrible pick and he had no business going in the second round, but he was going to get drafted.

Bought an orphan today - I wasn’t going to play in more than 2 leagues, but an opening came up in a 16 team IDP SF start 2 TE Dynasty and I couldn’t resist. Not a world-beater but a pretty solid team. 

My “welcome to the league” trade offer is an instant qualifier for this topic. Bear in mind, 4th & 5th rounders are more valuable in IDP, but…

I get:

• Quadree Ollison

• Travis Homer

• Quez Watkins 

• Juwan Johnson

• Jeffery Simmons

• 2023 4th

• 2023 5th

Tyler Higbee & Deandre Swift.

14 team, 1QB league/ no IDP.

  • I get his 2.07+ 23 late 2nd for Javonte Williams
  • I get 1.02 for my (2) early 23 firsts
  • I get his late 23 first and his late 23 2nd for 1.01..  not in the same tier as the other two but not very close for me.
I declined all with no counter but emailed after the last one and and asked how far off we were if we did:

I get -1.02+Metcalf, he gets 1.01+ 23 first that projects to be in the 8-10 range. Figured he'd need a little more to get it done but it was closer to value than the other offers he'd send me. Declined politely.

Probably none worthy of worst ever (doesn't mean they aren't awful), but few in this thread actually are and that's just fine. I'd say being new to Dynasty this yr you are spot on with all of it afaic.

No point trying to reason with someone like this - stupid is as stupid does. Best course of action would be to tell them "great trade" and offer them your garbage for anyone of value left on their team.

or offer him a couple of kickers and scrubs on your roster that by far scored more total points in aggregate than the one good player on their roster that you want and see how they respond.

Or someone needs to tell him to either learn how to play dynasty or stick to redraft.  Oh wait a minute, was it dynasty or redraft?  I suppose the same stupid logic applies to both.

Yeah, I finally just moved on from the league.

 
12 team PPR

I've made two trades in the last week and both included me getting a '23 2nd.  One of the other owners made a comment to me about hoarding 2nds (I have four '23 2nds now) and I mentioned that I might try and package a couple of them for a late 1st if I found myself with too many.

So today I wake up to an offer of his Freiermuth + '23 2nd for my Pitts.  Love playing this game.
