What is Thomas Jones Value at this point in the season (1 Viewer)

I think you have to hold on TJ for now. His current perceived value is about the same as Chris Brown. Give him a few decent games & he'll be tradeable again. I can see Leon taking the bulk of the long passing situations, but that was pretty much expected. He's still a usable RB2 at this point.

I drafted him as a RB3 & have good depth, so he'll be rotting on my bench for a few weeks to see what he can do.

Not many...NYJ's have 20 million reasons to allow Jones the opportunity to showcase his talents. It's not like Neon Leon is lighting it up between the tackles--he's good, but not ready to handle the load. Keep Jones--he started slow last year and did just fine.

Why is that? Leon hasn't done anything special yet and Jones hasn't been that bad against a couple good defenses.
Nothing against TJ, he is a solid move-the-chains runner. Washington, however, is the closest thing the Jets have to a gamebreaker. He's not going to steal TJ's job but he brings home run ability that TJ doesn't. With the way the Jets have struggled I expect that Washington will be on the field more the rest of the season than he has been the first 4 games.

I've followed him for a while and got him late in the draft. He went to ARZ and shared time with Pittman. Marcel Shipp kinda beat him out of a job and he followed Pittman to Tampa for a season. Got no respect and then went to CHI were he beat their flavor of the month outta their jobs (Anthony Thomas, Adrian Petersen, Cedric Benson).

Leon Washington doesn't scare me... (see also Kevin Faulk).

Although I was disappointed in his performance against the Bills I think the problem lies with the Jets offense and coaching. He has all the basic skills and has some late season upside if the Jets get their act together. I'm gonna sit on him and see.

Buy low on TJ - he was still hurt first 2 games - had a great game vs Miami and the gameplan vs Buff was awful. Mangini will get back to running this week - Leon is only change of pace - got a ton of reps cause jets were in hurry up last week - TJ will get 20 carries and GL - rare to get that at a low price!

remember, TJ is the back they should have kept in Chicago, so he must be all that and a bag of chips . . .

oh wait, he is also stinking up the joint in NY . . .

IMO, TJ's value is as low right now as it will be for the rest of season...of course barring injury as always. This week will be the 'tell all' of the rest of the season for TJ. Personally, I believe he will cut up these next games and become a respectable RB #2.

He has a great upcoming schedule and if he can't do much in these next weeks, then I wouldn expect Leon to steal more carries as the season progresses; if this is the case, then I wouldn't count on him as a viable option for the rest of the season. Just my $.02

Last week was not his fault - as a huge JEt fan - Mangini's gameplan was the suck. He was in the hurry up all game for some reason and completely abandoned the run way early. I expect they will return to what they did to beat Miami which is run the ball 30 times - what other RBs are out there that should get 20 carries per game plus all the GL carries that you can get for cheap? I could be wrong but have a feeling this will be the last week to buy low on TJ.
