What is up with Channing Crowder? (1 Viewer)

I was counting on this guy to be my LB2 this season, which I thought was not a stretch in our tackle-heavy league giving his production last year. So what has happened to him?

5 Tackles in 2 games is not conducive to keeping a starting place in my lineup. Has he been getting pulled on 3rd downs or something, minor injury, or something else? I have not been able to watch any of Miami's games yet this season, so I have not actually seen him in action.

I didn't think Crowder looked good at all Monday night. Didn't look as quick to the ball or as sudden at the point of attack as he did last year. Dallas Clark made him look slow on more than one occasion. Had he had a better W1, I might argue that his horrible tackle opportunity against Indy would make him a buy low candidate but I'm not certain now.

I'd hold him if you've no other options with similar upside, but would have him teetering on my dump list if there were other LB2 potentials out there.

He looked pretty bad on the field monday night, but keep in mind that the Miami D was on the field for less than 15 minutes total. Im benching him until he proves worthy again.

Seriously, the Colts only ran 35 plays. The Dolphins as a team had a total of 22 tackles and only Y.Bell had more than 2.

Maybe Crowder's #s will be down this year, but right now the sample is too small to know.

One of the reasons they ran so few plays was how awful Crowder was. I saw him chasing guys a lot, but stopping no one.

Is there any reason for optimism here (both this year and beyond), or is it time to throw the towel on a guy like Crowder for someone else with upside a la DeAndre Levy, etc? Crowder has never been a big play guy but was pretty consistently putting up tackle numbers... but now he's on pace for 44 tackles... OUCH.

Not starting him this week, but if he doesn't put up at least 5 tackles..........HE GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd watch him closely tonight & see what you think. From what I've seen, he's situation, not talent.

I really coulda used him this week, but I'm starting an extra safety instead as my flex IDP. He and Maualuga are really dead weights in my LB corps right now.

For what it's worth, I think he is completely drop-able at this point. He's been dropped in two very competitive (owners from fbg) 16 team dynasty leagues in the last few weeks. There has got to better options out there for you.Post up available LB's and we can help you find one I am sure.

Agreed. I'm in a 16 team, 8 IDP player (basically 4 LBs usually, because it's tackle heavy) and I wanted to drop him... the only really thing thold ing me back is that we have contract years, so I will have him with a penalty for awhile. But yes, he is effecticvely worthless even in a league that size, and it's time to part ways

14-team, 11-IDP starter dynasty league with 40 active roster spots. There ain't much out there, and I'm out of FA Waiver $$ anyway (had to grab Mike Bell early on to help my weak RB corps). I'm just grumbling here. :bag:

God I hate him. Today I hate him for having 9 tackles and a sack on my bench when I very much could have used him.
Haha... I hear that.Seriously though, what's different today? I didn't think TB was that great of a matchup... did the time off just let him get healthy? Did he look better than he had in the past, or was there some circumstance that created these numbers?I was actually going to cut him (I have him signed for 5 yrs, and I'm at the cap limit, and he's my LB5/6), but now I'll hold on to him and see if he can get back on track... Anyone see the game? Any insight on these numbers?

You just can't count on Crowder making making big plays and he didn't do anything stat wise Thursday night to make you worry that's going to change.Any good match-ups for him coming up?
