What is your Earworm this Friday Afternoon? (1 Viewer)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2zxHuze_Gw

You and I in a little toy shop
Buy a bag of balloons with the money we´ve got
Set them free at the break of dawn
Till one by one they were gone
Back at base, sparks in the software
Flash the message 'somethings out there'?
Floating in the summer sky
Ninety nine red balloons go by

this epic, bombastic, grandiose classic

some backstory as to why ... my daughter is very involved in her competitive dance (ballet/tap/jazz/modern) competitions these days, and has taken to watching quite a bit of "Dance Moms" (yeah, ####ty show, but there are some talented girls in the cast who the tween set seem to really dig).  my daughter's favorite is one Chloe Lukasiak, and, from following her on the social mediaz, etc, my kid unearthed the nugget that Chloe was named in honor of this song (and is now a "dancer") - pretty hardcore subject matter for one to name their lil' princess after, no?

anyways ... my daughter is now hellbent on choreographing a tribute set to this tune, which is one of the few from that era which i happen to really love very much - so, yeah, she's blasting it pretty much on loop up in the studio i built her - quizzical moment for me a few days ago when she asked me to explain some of the lyrical meandering - e.g. "i owe the man some money, so i'm turning over, honey"

Right now it's the entire Never Mind The Bollocks album, especially God Save The Queen and EMI, both at the back ends of each side of the record. But that's my ear worm.

No Future. No-No Future. Rotten's staccato voice over the more rhythmic stylings of the vocals makes it insane.

real shame These  Two  were never properly fleshed to be part of NMTBHTSP - though the latter does sound an awful lot like "No Feeling" played sideways at 3/4 speed

You ever see them live? Saw them in SF in 1978. They played awful. But it was something to see.

Wow. That's awesome. I can't even imagine. But no, I was five in 1978. My musical world consisted of Beatles and Beach Boys records at the time.

eta* Which is certainly a good place to start, BTW.

Loving Did You No Wrong.  The Small Faces cover I'm not sure about, though. It didn't even make The Great Rock N' Roll Swindle, which had killer covers of Roadrunner and Substitute.

Anyone have something I can use to remove this one from my head?? :wall:

Smashmouth - Allstar

Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me

I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed
She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb
In the shape of an "L" on her forehead
