What is your weakest area in fantasy football? (1 Viewer)

Picking the right players to start. I consistently rank in the top three for total points produced by my team, but consistently have a lower efficiency %.

I am definitely guilt of the "trade-aholic" syndrome.

Every year I walk away from the draft with the deepest team, great starting lineup with maybe one or two minor holes to fill.

Every year I decide I need to upgrade and go on a trading frenzy which progressively makes my team worse, not better. No individual trade is bad, but the sum total of trades is horrible.

It is almost like an addiction, though. You know it is not good for you, but you continue to feed it.

This year is different so far...I am at 2-0 and have been able to resist all urges to trade...although I did send out a league wide e-mail stating I was disappointed that none of them have started trade talks (we have a pretty trade averse league and unless I am involved in a trade it isn't likely to happen).

This is a redraft league.

Drafting Weaknesses

- Drafting QBs way too late. League where passing TDs = 6 pts. In my league, QBs are always drafted too high for my liking that I always end up waiting way too long. Usually by week 3 I'm scrambling to find a reliable QB. I'm trying to find a happy medium between drafting a QB too late and too early.

Trading Weaknesses

- This is a weird cycle. Most of the people in my league don't accept trade offers for various reasons. I found that by proposing multiple variations of a trade worked (maybe they felt in control because they would choose which offer to accept). Then things took a bad turn because I traded my way into the strongest team midway through the season. Now, I feel like nobody really wants to trade with me because the success I had. I guess the danger of being good at trades is that others may eventually become reluctant to trade with you.

Preseason

- I've overcome this weakness for the most part, but I used to let preseason play impact my draft choices too much. This year, I almost ignored preseason games altogether except for injuries. It can be hard to ignore a player that does well during the preseason (see Jerious Norwood), but then sees little playing time during the regular season.

2) I draft too well. I know, it sounds strange. I end up with a lot of talent and value, at least on paper, but then I can't move them (see above) and I can't cut them for the "flash in the pan" that ends up becoming a superstar. For example, two teams in my league burned draft picks on Priest Holmes and Michael Vick. Also, a lot of guys in the WR100 range end up getting rostered for a week here and there because the owner thinks they might hit. Anyway, my competition ends up with guys that they can cut easily and plenty of roster space. Meanwhile, I only have 6 bench slots and I can't drop anyone, because having 6 guys in the current top 36 makes it crazy to just cut them loose. But, in years past, guys have been able to grab off waivers the Anquan Boldins and Marques Colstons and, since it's a keeper league, have basically gotten them for free. When they had 1 big week, someone in the league jumped on them, but I can't afford to drop workhorse guys in the WR30 range (think Issac Bruce) for someone who might disappear or might be a superstar.
This is me sometimes. I always seem to have the deepest bench, but often lack the superstar power to win it all. I am the Buffalo Bills. I've made the playoffs in over 90% of the redraft leagues I've ever been in, but won it all only a couple of times.I'm new to dynasty (first year), so I don't yet know where my weaknesses lie there, other then I am not yet comfortable trying to rank rookies. When it comes to trades, I'm always looking for ways to improve my team, but the vast majority of trades that occur in most leagues I've seen seem like trades for the purpose of trades. Sometimes, I'm the league's most active trader. Other times, I'm the least active. My biggest weakness is definately putting so much emphasis on depth that I miss the chance to become truly dominant most of the time.
