Kind of funny. Cameron Winter (of Geese) apparently covers Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” in this XBox ad, and Geese fans are clamoring for the whole song to be released. I’ll admit I’d like to hear it!
I re-listened to Springsteen's Nebraska album in advance of its re-release tomorrow. It's getting the deluxe treatment with demos, live versions and a new remaster. I don't know what to think about the latter because the record's lo-fi quality is part of its legacy. We'll see if the tape hiss and occasional clipping has been left in.
So I spent the past month listening to David Bowie's entire discography of studio albums in order. Quite the experience! I've loved his 70's releases, especially the Berlin Trilogy, but was never really much into his 80's stuff and there was a huge gap for me until The Next Day and Blackstar (one of my favorites of his) The only 2 albums I really didn't care for were Tonight and Never Let Me Down. The first one that really blew me away was Outside. It's one I'll be listening to many times to really take it all in and read up on the whole production of it. He toured that album with Nine Inch Nails in America, so it's no wonder a chameleon like Bowie would follow that album up with the incredible album, Earthling. Industrial Metal Bowie! Wow! This one immediately jumped into my Top 10 for him.
