What team makes a turnaround next year like the (1 Viewer)

I think the 49ers in the NFC have a chance to make alot of noise next year. They seem to be making great progress with Singletary as the HC

I am going to say the Raiders have a chance in the AFC. The defense is OK but offensively I think they will make a huge turnaround with Russell, McFadden,

Miller and Higgins leading a resurgence in Oakland. The talent is there.

 
Falcons made the turn around with Matt Ryan and Mike Turner. They got Ryan fromt he draft and Turner from free agency, neither has happened yet, so theres no way in guessing who can bounce back next year.

I say that every year about my Raiders. They have had talent on this team for many, many years. What's missing is the cohesion, purpose, and leadership. This is where the 49ers seem to have a leg up on the Raiders, as you point out -- Singletary seems to be that kind of fiery leader.
 
I'll say the Kansas City Chiefs...

Depending on what they do with the front office/Herm Edwards, they could be solid and finish around 7-9 or 8-8 next season. They have talent offensively (LJ, Bowe, and seem to have a QB in Tyler Thigpen). Now it's just a matter of building a solid front office that can scout/develop and build a strong defense.

wrong. Bloom called the Jets (even though they've disappointed lately) and I called the Panthers well before any major changes were made. My gut tells me to watch out for:Buffalo BillsSan Francisco 49ersGreen Bay Packers
 
Jacksonville Jaguars. With a healthy offensive line and a couple good draft choices or free agent acquisitions they should be a contender for at least the playoffs again.

I agree with everyone that said Green Bay and would love to see Singletary turn around the 49ers but I think they might need an additional year before he can get them to the playoffs.

 
I'd concur with Green Bay. Rodgers will have a year of experience, they lost I think 7 games this year by 4 points or less, and instead of playing a 4th place schedule they will play a 3rd place schedule.

I think you meant instead of playing a first place schedule they will play a 3rd place one.But that really only affects 2 games. I wish people would stop using that as a sign of anything.It let them play the Seahawks this year...was that really a tough one? They got them and Dallas.And from year to year...so many teams get better or worse...it means very little.And next year's right now does not look very easy even with the 3rd place schedule. As it stands right now, they would play Philly at home and get Tampa on the road.The rest looks seemingly easier with getting the NFC West (Seattle and San Fran at home, Ariz and St. Louis on the road)...and the AFC North (Baltimore and Cinci at home, Pitt and Cleveland on the road).Not easy by any means with Baltimore and Pitt and Arizona...but better than just the NFC and AFC South this year...at least the way it was this year.That said...they seem to be a good candidate for an upswing.QB in his 2nd year who looked solid all year long. Has struggled some for sure...but all in all played pretty well. They have questions for sure on the O and Dline...but have the talent at the skill positions to be able to do some things.They need to learn to win though...sounds simplistic I guess...but with all these close losses...just seems they don't know how to put anyone away...be it the offense or the defense.
 
NFC

Seahawks. They were destroyed by injuries this season, but will still have a good core. They have to get better just by being in the worst division. Warner gets a year older and AZ loses Boldin they could be sub .500 again. They have to realize Morris is the man at RB.

AFC

Bengals. 23 players on IR did have some advantages. This entire season was like training camp and they found some players on D to go with the guys coming off injury. The injury to Andrews saved their bacon because now even dumb Mike Brown won't waste a bunch of salary cap on him. If Palmer is healthy, that accounts for 4-5 wins alone.

:angry: The Saints don't belong in this discussion. They are 8-7, and have a winning record. They aren't a bad team this year, their division is just very competitive. The Dolphins actually had the biggest turnaround this year considering they won only 1 game last year.
 
I've posted many times over the years that each year for like 15 years (except one) there's been 3 teams make the playoffs that had losing records the season before. This year we could have 7 (although 3-4 is more likely): NYJ, MIA, BAL, DEN, CHI, CAR, ATL.

I think the most could be six since NYJ, MIA, and BAL can't all get in. If BAL gets the WC, only one of the other two can get the AFC East. If one of the East teams take the WC and the other the division, BAL is staying home.

True dat. was only looking at who the candidates were. Eiher way, still a lot of teams doing better than last year.
 
Seattle could make a pretty big turn around next year. For that matter, so could the Rams. It seems like that division is just weak enough that anyone could step in and win it.

For some reason I expect Jacksonville to turn it around pretty good next year as well. Up until this year they have been the second best team in a really good division, and this year Tennessee happened. I am not sure that Tennessee has the magic next year that they did this year (Fisher is great, but lightning rarely strikes twice).

Took my pick in Seattle. Watch out for next year. They played Sunday vs. the Jets without their entire starting offensive line, QB, and both starting WRs. That's 8 out of the 11 starters on offense gone. Name one team that could withstand that??? Plus as mention above Seattle plays in the weakest division in football.

:goodposting: Everyone is talking about the Falcons as the biggest turnaround this season. But, the Phins are the real story.
