What team will make the first 'against the grain' pick (1 Viewer)

Deranged Hermit

Not cool & Pissed
Every year, one team will make that pick that will make you go  . What team go you think will go totally against the grain and defy all logic to take that 2nd round talent at mid-first or take that CB in the 1st when they have the leagues best secondary (ala the Eagles a few years ago). Andy D got me thinking about this when I read his new mock, and I not only agree with the team he chose, but also the player.

I think the Bengals will surprise the world and draft Rashard Mendenhall with the 1.09 pick of the draft. I've thought this for a long time (gut feeling) and now that someone else threw it out there, I don't feel like quite the idiot I did before for thinking it. I KNOW the Bengals fans will throw up in their mouths, but with Rudi on his last legs, I don't think it'd be a horrible pick.

Anyway, what do you guys have?????

Isn't it usually the Bills - not that those picks haven't panned out. But they always seem to "reach" for a guy they want instead of trading down and getting him later.

Jonathan Stewart at 9 to Cincy. They figure that drafting uninjured RBs who then get injured doesn't work, so now they draft an injured RB and hope he turns into an uninjured RB.

Last RB Cinci took in the 1st round?

DOnt think they will be taking another one ...

Eagles trade up to 7 and select Matt Ryan. Only costs them their entire draft this year and next. Andy Reid says "McNabb is still their guy but they had a chance to get the highest rated player on their board".

NE is a mystery, no matter what they do it'll be a surprise.
That's my pick too.
I really think NE trades down.
That's the classic NE move, so the next question is, which team trades up and for who?
More important, is New England really desiring more picks? This team isn't rebuilding, I think the choice of Gholston, Rivers, the CB of their choice, or even an OL will be too much to turn down.

I was thinking the Bills too. But I think we all know they'll reach for a WR. The suprise for me will be if they draft anyone beside a WR or CB. A DE would make some sense.

This seems about right. And selecting Darren McFadden would be a huge water cooler topic for months.

Dallas trades with St Louis and grabs McFadden.

New Orleans trades down with NYG, acquiring a boatload of picks and Shockey.

Baltimore and Dallas trade: Ravens get Dallas' two first round picks. after the Jets and Pats BOTH pass on McFadden, Dallas grabs him at #8. Baltimore gets Matt Ryan at #22 ( Dallas' first pick)

I don't think the Jets love any of these guys at the top and are dying to trade down or might just take a CB....

Radio City will go BESERK!!!!!

Saints may be the partner for NE or the Jets and take S. Ellis.

#31, a pick and Shockey for the #10 maybe a good one. Especially if New Orleans can grab Kenny Phillips and then Trevor Laws in the 2nd.

Wild Card possiblity for the Saints if rivers and McKelvin are gone at #10.....R. Mendenhall.
