I'm trying to test the theory of how much the internet caused the hobby to explode.
I had forgotten about USA Today. I'm now going to have nightmares again...I started in '91 with 7 others. Oh how I HATED getting stats from the USA Today!!!

I was working for the NBC station in San Diego that year and joined the work league there. We had access to various news sources via the news servers but nothing like today obviously. We could get the game breakdowns Sunday night though for our scores instead of waiting for the paper in the morning. Plus I got to watch all the AFC games (when NBC still had them) in the tape room on 4" monitors. I came in 4th, I believe it was a good year for Herman Moore and Scott Mitchell..Started in '97 with a group of guys from work. I was out to lunch (randomly) with a bunch of them and they needed an 8th to get off the ground, so I agreed. Have been an addict ever since. I know Al Gore invented the internet prior to '97, but for the first year, we still did manual scoring and data was not so easy to come by. I had my trusty FFI mag and picked Jeff Blake with the 8th overall pick...somehow I got lucky and managed to go to the title game that year.
