What we have learned after week 7 (1 Viewer)

- Donovan McNabb is a BEAST. The Iggles may be blowing leads but his fantasy teams aren't :football: The league I have him in only counts 3 of the 5 TD's he threw on Sunday. The two he threw to Rhonde Barber weren't counted against me. :thumbup:

- This was overheard by Bill Bidwell, "How are we 1-6?" Uh, you're the Cardinals. And you have no patience. That team is a couple of linemen away from being a FORCE. Too bad Denny Green will not likely be around to see it. I know this much, the next coach in the desert will be called a candidate for coach of the year around this time next year. That is if Bidwell doesn't start kicking and screaming like the spoiled rich kid he is because his toy is broken and take drastic action. That team is so close it's ridiculous...

- Did Randy Moss have a good game? I thought he was out of the league.

- Non FFB related: in that cell phone commercial where Carson Palmer is sitting next to a Raiders player wearing number 87 and they promise to vote for each other for the Pro Bowl...How in the world is any Raider WR worthy of the Pro Bowl? Who is this guy? Did Tim Brown unretire and start wearing 87?

- Where is JCWDJDLWRHTHSTHS and his man love for Artose Pinner? KJ is 4th in a standard scoring league with 97 points and 3rd in PPR leagues with 141 and is the 4th overall point getter in PPR leagues at all positions. All while most of his O-line is in shambles. What you gotta say about that JWJDJDLSHEH?

- Most people were of the mind that no matter who toted the rock in Chicago, as long as they got the vast majority of carries, would be a stud. Well, TJones gets most of the carries and hasn't done much with it. But the team is winning so I don't expect to see any changes. As an owner of both of these guys I'm very sad about this :cry:

- Does Big Ben have a glass jaw or what? Two concussions in about 3 months. OK, I'll give him the one when he got hit by a car ;)

- The Patriots are quietly 5-1 and with no real go to guy at WR. Guess what? That's pretty much been the case throughout this Patriot Dynasty.

- Do you think that Parcells put Romo in to get the fans to shut the hell up and stop calling for Drew's head? I saw a bad pick by Bledsoe and a sack where he held the ball way too long. But the safety was not his fault as were the other other sacks. Romo did a bang up job. Looks to me like he makes a lot of really poor decisions when flustered. How did he not see that D-Lineman. The old insult of not being able to hit the broad side of a barn. Well, we know that Romo can!! At least Romo is a pretty good tackler and he may have to be with those kinds of decisions.

- I realize that Tiki is making his farewell tour and using it to push his salary up as an analyst, but I can't wait to see Jacobs get 20 carries a game. That guy's a force :boxing:

- How many people say Houston winning by 20 over the Jags? :eek:

- You know how you can tell Favre is getting old? He starts winning in Miami. Remember the Favre curse of not winning a game where the temp was over something like 39 degrees? A young Favre would've blown that game easy :P

What is everyone else seeing?

A buddy of mine were talking about this today. Where do you see him get drafted next year in a re-draft? My buddy says top 15, I said top 20, but wasn't sure if we would play 3rd downs.He does look like a man playing with boys out there.

That's not the Raiders, nor is it Palmer---it's Rex Grossman & Mushin Muhammad...

- Being an owner of Hines Ward, I love to see Charlie Batch come in - Ward is the first and second target for Batch and Hiney almost always comes through

- The Grossman to Berrian connection could be around for a while - Rex loves to throw it long and Berrian loves to run under it

- There's not a single Falcons, Chargers or Bills WR that I want on my team (12 team league with 3 starting)

- This is not news but if you're WR is going against Champ Bailey, don't start him

- Edge is doing EXACTLY what I thought would happen: squat. His only future of prominence is if Leinart learns to start dumping it off quickly

- The Raiders defense has mojo - their offense doens't

- The Chargers are starting to leak - they're losing games they shouldn't

- I think Leinart compares favorable to Carson Palmer's start of few years ago - the Cards need to sell their soul in the off-season for some offensive linemen though - their defense is certainly solid enough to keep them in games if they can continue to play with the intensity that they showed in the Bears game.

- The annual fee for FootBall Guys is the best value on the internet

I just posted something similar in the Romo thread before reading this here.

Guess he didn't see the huge BEARS written in bright orange on the carpet. :shrug:

I learned never to chase the next big thing in young RB's.....again. Bush this year, KJ last year, Barlow 3 years ago. Proven veterans usually are safer picks.

Don't stand next to McNabb if he's playing in Florida on a hot day. The guy loves to literally "leave it all on the field" down there.

Who have they beat outside of Cincinnati? No one of substance. Wake me up when they beat @ MINN, CHI and IND.Their schedule is cake...even @ JAX isn't as tough as i would've thought.They look like a 1st or 2nd round knockout waiting to happen.

I wouldn't count that as something with any certainty considering the playoff experience of the team and the coaching staff. That team is money in the post season. Look at Branch. Sucks during the regular season but he tears it up in the post season.....

I've learned that Larry Johnson is the only RB producing behind a terrible line... He = FF Gold;

I've learned that Mike martz knows how to use KJ way beter, but the Lions still suck;

I've learned that Chad Johnson is the most oerrated FF W ever..."where you at 85?" Somebody call me when this guy deserves his ADP;

I've learned that Aaron Brooks may be done in Oakland...Walter appears to be coming around a bit and coincidentally Moss may be too;

I've learned that cleveland is a FF wasteland;

I've learned that LEON may be the one WW RB pick up that really pays off for those teams that got him (happens evey year);

I've learned that Dennny Green will be gone after the cards lose this week;

and finally, I've confirmed that the Monday Night football crew is the worst in the history of civilization and Kornhole is an absolute mental midget who needs to go. calling TO the devil in the pregame was but one example of his ignorance that ruins MNF.

I've learned that MLBrandow only likes to talk preseason as I haven't heard a peep from the guy during the season. Come on MLBrandow, I'd love to hear you talk about how Caddy will be great and Ronnie will be horrible.

McNabb= monster

I've learned it doesn't matter how good you draft or how good your team is set up in a dynasty league, if the FF gods aren't with you, your screwed.

I guess people should have sat Marvin or Reggie Wayne huh? :P

The elite elite QBs, the ones with the years of top success in the same system -- Peyton, McNabb -- are worth drafting in the first two rounds, contrary to popular wisdom.

Discuss amongst yourselves

I can't wait to see Jacobs get 20 carries a game. That guy's a force
I can't see Jacobs lasting very long toting the rock 20 times a game. The Giants are going to need a complimentary back to make the most of Jacobs' abilities. I do agree that he is running very well and makes a great change of pace to Tiki right now.

Why? I got McNabb in the 6th round (8 team league). No need to get qbs early.

And what you're saying... that's also been the case throughout this Patriot Dynasty.Weren't the Dolphins were supposed to take the AFCE from the Pats this year? :lmao:

I've learned....

To never listen to the media and count out Brady/Bellichick after 2-3 losses, not to mention just 1.

I should have listened to all the Bills and Patriots fans when they said Bledsoe will break your heart.

Mark Brunnell is only starting because he has an insane contract and Joe Gibbs has a man-crush on him

Brandon Jacobs plays nothing like the Ron Dayne clone he was last year

Steve Smith is the best WR in NFL right now (an argument can be made for T.Holt)

Joey Harrington really does suck

Brad Johnson is the epitome of a savy, veteran QB

If Tiki retires Jacobs is taken in the top 12 IMO. That dude does look like a man playing with kids. He is 6-4 265 with good speed and you know he has power and he is his own goaline vulture :D . To put this in perspective M. Strahan is 6-5 255 :shock: . When the RB is as big as one of the top DE's and has agility, the opposing defense will have problems containing him. To top it off the Giants line has earned my respect as one of the best, they have a very good QB, TE and a respectable WR. Tiki is a very good back but when the backup and the starter are both averaging around 5 ypc you have some good backs and a good line.Top 12 for redraft next year of course barring no injuries the rest of the year:1. LT22. Larry Johnson3. Steven Jackson4. Ronnie Brown5. Clinton Portis6. Rudi Johnson7. Willis McGahee8. Shaun Alexander9. Kevin Jones10. Brian Westbrook11. Willie Parker12. Brandon JacobsHonorable mention: Adrian Peterson depending on what team he goes to because he has a shot to be in this list. Someones that probably be on here is Frank Gore, and Chester Taylor. Someone will underestimate these guys and they will slip. For some reason I see Jacobs with at least 1300+rushing and 9 TD's if Tiki isn't there and he gets the bulk of the carries

Not to make this into a Jacobs thread, but are we even sure he'll be the undisputed starter next year? I just haven't seen enough of him (almost any really) to have an opinion here, but there's rumors that the Giants would be interested in Turner, and it wouldn't be a shock if they drafted a guy like Mershawn Lynch next year.

His contract has nothing to do with him starting. He could be getting paid in hot dogs and chili and would still be the starter. Gibbs likes, and stands by, his veteran QBs.

I disagree, while Kornheiser may say a few stupid things, Joe Theisman's inability to hold a line is baffling. He is straight up the worst announcer I have ever listened to, and he's been doing this junk for years. Kornheiser on the other hand is just starting, he'll figure it out.

Theisman is brutal. Worst ever. Kornhole is almost as bad...his schtick is tiring before it even starts.

Ronnie Brown and Brandon Jacobs have no business being on this list.

I think Ronnie definitely warrants top 12, considering how much involvement he gets in the offense. Top 4 could be a stretch though if they don't improve the offense.Jacobs, though, I agree. It's far from a certainty that he'll be the guy next year, and even if he becomes the primary back, could cede passing down touches.I think Alexander should be much higher though. Too much stock is being placed in his being injured this year - the guy is still a major force, and the relative lack of touches this year may actually help him next year and beyond.

Andre Johnson is currently the best WR in the NFL.Most catches, most yards, highest % of passes caught.
I was just going to post about him. This is the one of the biggest things to me, after years of waiting for him to show up he is finally here.Also Westbrook's place among the top 3 rbs in a ppr league, when he plays he is going to put up points, if you can deal with the occasional GTD and him possibly being out, his fantasy ppg is incredible when he is on the field.

Switch to a Victory Points system ASAP. Excellent way to eliminate a lot of the luck invovled in HTH matchups. I'm personally playing against the 2.8th ranked team in my league each week after 7 weeks, yet I average the 2nd best points per week (#1 in points against). I'm 3-4, but I'm still 2nd overall thanks to VP. Try it sometime and I bet your league will love it. Antsports and now Myfantasyleague.com have it available. Not sure if any others do.

When did Ronnie Brown become top 4?
HAS TO BE a fish homer or Brown owner. Either that or Brown and Westbrook were accidentally switched.

I agree with with most of what you have said. Coming into this season I avoided SA because I felt his 400+ touches the past 2 seasons was high and he was destined for a fall. I agree that his lack of touches this year while injured will help him next season and he may represent great value in the first round if you can get him past the 5th or 6th spot.I don't know enough to have an opinion on Jacobs.I agree that ronnie brown was a bit high. I like KJ being on this list but ctaylor needs to be in the top 12 too. He's been a good back this season.My top 12 looks something like:1. LT2. LJ3. Portis4. SA5. Jackson6. Rudi Johnson7. Westbrook8. Ronnie Brown9. Kevin Jones10. Chester Taylor11. Willie Parker12. GoreA couple near misses of this list are dunn, julius jones, maurice drew (depending on what happens in JAX). Im not very happy putting Gore at 12, but I could not find a guy I would put ahead of taylor & parker to bump him off the list.Portis and LJ may be inter-changeable depending on what KC does with their O-Line. If they get a good Left Tackle in the draft, I think it soldifies LJs spot at 2 overall.
