You guys understand that I'm only 22 years old and in two-years I'm probably going to be pretty well off...? Right...? Right...? This is all a matter of time not some type of fundamental lack of logic on my part.
I'm 22 and I make more than three times what you make.
Good for you man, you're not me. I'm working my way up the ladder at Walgreens and getting educated in the meantime; I'll catch you at the finish line. There's not a lot of opportunity for me out here unless I want to work in a factory.
I thought you had a good paying job at a restaurant prior to Walgreens.

I was making about the same he makes now when I got my first apartment at 18...back in 1982
I was just thinking that at 22 I was making more than double what he is and that was in 1996 dollars.
Listen man, the economy isn't very good nowadays. I did #### up and drop out of college but now I'm going back. I should have a Bachelors Degree by now, I fully understand that.

My son is 20, goes to college full time and makes just about as much as Em.

No...actually, you won't be.

Because you don't seem to understand anything about money.
Is that why I've seen a 30% gain on 25% of my income?

Do you have a car? Car insurance? An apartment? Groceries for that apartment? Electricity for that apartment?

Em, that amount of money is nothing. Nothing. And I'm not being mean. I'm telling you that $1400 is nothing when you finally enter the real world. Stop gambling. And that means on stocks as well. Or at least do this for me: Take half of your "play around" money and put it in the bank. A savings account. The rest, screw around with it all you want. But at least put half in the bank.
I fully understand that, lol. But let's break it down:

$1640

-$45 phone

-$45 insurance

$1,550

-$100 gas

$1,450

I could rent a ####ty apartment for like $550 bucks. I could split a ####ty apartment with a friend for like $300 per person.

I am actively trying to get promoted at work. I'm moving to overnights at a store closer to my home and will likely see a .75 increase in pay which equates to about an extra $120 a month. I would work a week on, a week off. The Community Leader, District Manager, and a few Store Managers really like me. They're trying to fast track me to an Assistant Manager position by next Spring.

I plan on getting the position and moving to either Florida or Chicago to finish my Bachelor's Degree.
There are plenty of other bills you have to pay when you move out besides rent. Unless you're going sans water and electricity and getting all food from the Dumpster. But if you're going to do that, may as well just rent a storage locker.

You realize the economy is a lot ####tier 32 years later, right?
I'm doing just fine.

I think I've asked this before, but you ignored it like you have all my posts. But what do your parents think of all this? Are they supportive of you? Seems like most parents would encourage their kids to become an adult and not stay at home well into their 20's smoking weed and blowing all their money on gambling.

My guess is they feel sorry for you due to your obvious personality disorder.
Dude, I'm averaging a 3.0 GPA and am fasttracking myself to a position paying $17.00 an hour. They know that me living with them is coming to an end very soon, they know I could afford to support myself but it's helping me save money by living at home.

I MADE $320 playing Fantasy Football last season.

I LOST $300 on sportsbets last night.

Let's call that a wash.

But it's funnier to force an untrue opinion on me, so sure!
I am pretty sure at one point in this thread you were calculating your net worth added it as if it was an asset. You seem to be implying the same with that last post. That said, one you don't have that promotion yet. Two, you can't count on mom paying your bills much longer. You are making decisions now which Are going to keep you locked into your mom's basement for a long time.

Dude, you can find places where the tenant pays utilities. Or it's all one electric bill. Me omitting that doesn't mean I'm not aware of the cost of amenities. But with about $900 remaining, nothing is going to "break the bank" so-to-speak.

I buy all my food from Walgreens at a 15 - 20% discount.

So now it's the economy's fault? I thought you were rolling in the dough, dude? You have all this extra play money to mess around with. That's what you posted a couple hours ago.

The only reason people are commenting on all of this is because you keep posting over and over what a great financial situation you are in and you are smarter than everyone else. You're not. On any counts.

Granted I don't know the housing situation in your area, but I doubt those bottom dollar prices you mentioned include utilities. And they certainly don't include catering.

Not true, if I were to do that I wouldn't be averaging a 3.0 on my way to an Associates in Accounting.

I don't have the promotion yet but I have a few key players in the Walgreens World around here that are gunning for me. Even if my mom were to kick me out tomorrow, I would be fine. I'm not an idiot.

Fine then, let's just leave it as I have $1,450 for food and shelter. The excess goes to the bank / entertainment expense.

So...yeah, percentages are funny when talking about small amounts of money.

You piss away money on bad gambling...you think a $2000 portfolio is something.

Its really quite humorous how much you seem to brag considering even those of us who aren't true "fbgs" are doing it much better than you.

Wow, you're ####### annoying. Yeah, it's the economy's fault that there are less high paying jobs for younger people than there were 32 ####### years ago. That has nothing to do with me having $1,450 surpus cash each month which makes the $300 I lost insignificant.

Especially considering I finally got paid the $300 for winning my Fantasy Football league. You're slow.

Don't listen to the haters but you're being a little short sighted. You seem like a really smart kid. In 5 years you'll be taking down 6 figures. Don't stress the little things right now. A $1500 credit card is going to be peanuts for you. Have fun betting sports and just make the minimum payments on your cards. You're only young once homie.

For the record, I'm one of the few on here that doesn't have a college degree. A college degree does not equal success. It can help in many cases, but there are plenty of people who are quite successful without them.

All you guys can go #### yourselves. Unlike the majority of young people my age, I have a job and I go to school fulltime. I save at least 25% of my income and am making smart investments such as investing in a 401K.

So what I lost $300 on a sportsbet? A week ago I was up $585 on sportsbets and almost turned that into $1,000. Did I mention I won $300 in my Fantasy League last year? So what...? My net betting losses on the year are what?

$200.

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP! I AM 22 YEARS OLD WHO IS ABOUT TO GET A DEGREE AND HAS A LOVING FAMILY THAT IS LETTING ME STAY AT HOME WHILE I COMPLETELY GET ON MY FEET. SOMETIMES I SPEND $20 ON A GRAM OF WEED! WHAT A PIECE OF #### I AM!

Apparently this thread was started so you could brag about what you don't really have...then try to convince people who are smarter than you to be dumb enough to invest in a guy who thinks he knows things...but keeps proving he is completely clueless about everything.

Granted I don't know the housing situation in your area, but I doubt those bottom dollar prices you mentioned include utilities. And they certainly don't include catering.
Or a loaner car with free insurance.
Did you ignore my post where I accounted for car insurance? It costs me $45 a month and is accounted in my $200 of surefire expenses.
Your insurance or your mom's insurance?
My insurance.
State minimum coverage I'm guessing with a sky high deductible? I've never known a 22 year old to cost less than $100 a month.

You guys understand that I'm only 22 years old and in two-years I'm probably going to be pretty well off...? Right...? Right...? This is all a matter of time not some type of fundamental lack of logic on my part.
I'm 22 and I make more than three times what you make.
My son is 20, goes to college full time and makes just about as much as Em.
You guys understand that I'm only 22 years old and in two-years I'm probably going to be pretty well off...? Right...? Right...? This is all a matter of time not some type of fundamental lack of logic on my part.
No...actually, you won't be.

Because you don't seem to understand anything about money.
Is that why I've seen a 30% gain on 25% of my income?
So...yeah, percentages are funny when talking about small amounts of money.

You piss away money on bad gambling...you think a $2000 portfolio is something.

Its really quite humorous how much you seem to brag considering even those of us who aren't true "fbgs" are doing it much better than you.
Dude, you're ######ed. You're a bunch of grown ### men with college degrees and careers. Of course you have more money than me, why the #### do you think this thread was started? This is the ####### Eminence Fund thread where I get you to invest your money in ME.

SMH.
Why would anyone invest money in someone they don't even know? Sounds more like some one asking for a hand out.

Didn't you lose $500 the week before too?
No man.

I turned $50 into $585 and lost the $585 trying to double that up to $1,000. $50 into $1,000 in three days seemed like a worthwhile risk to me.

Apparently this thread was started so you could brag about what you don't really have...then try to convince people who are smarter than you to be dumb enough to invest in a guy who thinks he knows things...but keeps proving he is completely clueless about everything.
...yet if you would have invested in any of my stock tips, you would have made money. What's the problem here exactly?
